In September of this year, my friends and I were on a tour of Chernihiv region. We visited the city of secrets and legends - Chernihiv, the old Cossack town - Sednev and the residence of the hetmans - Baturyn. Chernihiv made an unforgettable impression. Every house, every cathedral is a story. The famous Chernigov Detinets - the place where the Chernigov fortress stood in ancient times, has now turned into a large beautiful park. A whole collection of beauties is collected on a small piece of land. Cathedrals, colleges, houses of the rich and famous. A whole gallery of guns, and each gun is unique! I really liked the Pyatnitskaya Church (12th century), this ancient Russian beauty, stands in the very center of Chernigov. The architecture is unique. Inside, as you enter, you feel a special atmosphere. And on the back of the building there is a round stone, you need to put your hand on it and make a wish (certainly good and kind), and it will certainly come true. In Sednev we visited the wooden Cossack St. George's Church. The church was rebuilt without a single nail in 1745 and is considered one of the best works of Ukrainian folk architecture. It is very interesting that the shooting of the famous Soviet film "Viy" based on the story of the same name by N. Gogol took place in the St. George's Church. The unique landmark of Baturyn and the entire Left-Bank Ukraine is the citadel of an ancient fortress that was built to protect the ancient Cossack town. We got a lot of impressions in the museum of the outstanding scientist-traveler N. Miklukho-Maclay. A descendant of the legendary Zaporozhye Cossacks, N. Miklukho-Maklay spent his best years in Baturyn. The Museum presents a gallery of portraits of Maclay's relatives, materials from his ethnographic expeditions, models of ships, and watched a historical and biographical film of the same name. You can’t write about everything, you have to go and see. What else can I say is that our trip was just great and unforgettable.
