The hotel fully met our expectations - we were very pleased with the rest! We settled immediately upon arrival at night, cleaned regularly every day - changed the bed, towels, brought toilet paper. Drinking water in bottles of 1.5 liters had to be taken from the bar near the lobby. The room has a hairdryer and towels. There was no kettle with tea (but it was possible to take hot water and tea from the hotel bar). The rooms also do not provide soap and shampoo - you need to take your own.
As for the food: everything here is generally flawless. The food is excellent, fresh and varied! At home, I eat lightly and eat enough dietary food. And here I was able to choose food to my taste in order to stay full and at the same time not get better. The menu changes from time to time, there are different dishes, salads. There were fruits according to the season (at each visit: for breakfast, lunch and dinner) - watermelons, melons, plums, peaches, grapes.
Cakes, ice cream for dinner and sweet puddings. For breakfast, yogurt, muesli, omelettes, pancakes, boiled eggs, cottage cheese and yellow hard cheese, cold cuts and sausages, stewed hot vegetables. Meat for lunch - beef, chicken, cutlets, pasta, cereals, rice, couscous, pizza. Dinner is also rich in fish and salads. Plus, butter, olives, black olives, various sauces, adjika, mayonnaise, bread and buns were always offered as supplements. There was always something to drink - tea, coffee, milk, juices and fanta, sprite, light wine, beer, etc. Of the salads, there were separately chopped vegetables: carrots, beets, cabbage, pumpkin, zucchini, peppers, onions. You could mix them up or take some and fill (or not) as you wished.
During the day, in between the main meals, there are bars right on the beach with light snacks and drinks. There is a bar on site and in the hotel itself. So you won't go hungry : )
The waiters are all polite and attentive, smiling and asking how you are doing, offer drinks. Empty plates after eating are removed instantly in front of you. Also the rest of the hotel staff at the reception are very kind. For pretty free Russian girls, invitations for a cup of coffee and communication were in abundance.
There are 4 swimming pools on the territory of the hotel (one is small for children, one is bigger deep. And two with sea water, one of them with slides).
The Russian language at the hotel is a little known - most often they will understand what you need. But English, of course, is better to use for communication and understanding, and everyone knows simple phrases.
Wi-Fi internet is available in the hotel lobby. However, site pages do not always load, including fast. In the evening, by 19.00-20.00, the signal is very weak and the Internet may not load at all, and messages via Viber and WhatsApp cannot be reached, which is apparently due to congestion, because. many people use the connection before dinner.
Animation is presented in the hotel perfectly - you definitely won't get bored! From morning to evening there are many different sports activities: yoga, various types of dances (including on the beach), aerobics, aqua aerobics, volleyball, tennis, basketball, billiards, a gym. The schedule for each day is posted, you can choose what you like. In the evening, from 20.30, a show program begins near the pool when leaving the hotel - karaoke, a program for children, several songs for adults to dance. Continues until 23.00. Our room overlooked this pool from the show, but with the doors closed, the sound was significantly reduced. Further, in a separate room from 23.30 the night disco began.
In terms of security, security guards with telephones are constantly on duty at the hotel, including at the disco and on the beach, near the pools, at the entrance to the hotel. When entering the hotel, all things and the people themselves go through a scanner and a metal detector.
It should be noted that the summer months are at the peak of the season. Therefore, the hotel was filled to capacity. The Russian-speaking population is small, mostly Arab families from Algeria and Libya, from Tunisia itself with their many children rested. Children (of course, who tend to cry everywhere and talk loudly, scream) of different ages, from infants to teenagers. There were also families from France, Germany, Great Britain.
There are a lot of people, including outside the hotel in Sousse: locals and tourists. The rest turned out to be somewhat noisy and youthful. If someone is looking for peace and tranquility, then it is better to go in calmer months - May or September-October.
On the last day of our stay, we checked out at 12.00 and left for the airport at 23.30. Almost a whole day! We asked the reception to extend the room and we were kindly provided with another room for an additional acceptable payment in order to accommodate for that day, leave our things, take a shower and relax before the road.
From the tour was in the Sahara (2 days); Carthage - Tunisia - Sidi Bou Said (1 day) and Phrygia Zoo (half day). I liked it, especially in the Sahara)
If you have any questions - about excursions or other nuances, please contact us, write! I wish you a good rest.
About the room, a separate story, they asked for a refrigerator, they gave a dollar, they smiled for a very long time, they brought it, but it doesn’t work, so that we could replace it, they asked for 3 days! The antenna at the TV did not work, the channels did not show accordingly, the antenna was repaired for 3 days, then the TV showed only 2 Russian channels, after 5 days the antenna was repaired again, it began to show 1 channel!
In the building where we lived, they repaired the balconies, beat off the plaster and what was crumbling, next to it, on the street, concrete was kneaded with a shovel right on the ground, the sound is amazing, the block in which they are doing repairs should have been closed! In the corridors, carpets are swept with a broom, the hotel, probably, did not earn money for vacuum cleaners, and I wanted to say, from under the clatter of hooves, dust flies across the field (on the floor) !!!
They don’t clean well, although they left a dollar every day, they don’t wipe the dust at all, they didn’t wash the sink, toilet and bath for 14 days, they only changed the linen, changed towels and wiped the tiles (tiled floors in the rooms). Then they freaked out and began to hang a sign that we were resting, such a cleaning in three days just costs 30 rubles no more!
The bartenders are just rude, if you want to be served you need to tip, but why then do we pay for a full board, they don’t notice the Russians at close range, as if we are not there, although we are not rude, we are not rowdy, but we feel like we are begging for alms until we you roar at them they don't want to move, freaks! Two bartenders serve anyone, and, pretending to work hard at the cash register or in the computer, foreigners knock with a coin and the way is clear! Draw your own conclusions!!!!
Animation in the hotel is almost non-existent! Volleyball is strictly c16-17, then the animator takes the ball away, okay, we bought our own, sent an animator.
Excursions, be sure to visit the laser show, everyone loves it! Go on a sea excursion yourself, do not buy tours on the beach, it will be 2 times more expensive! Get in a taxi (3 dinars) and by 10:30 drive up to the port, buy tickets there and enter the deck, take towels and sunscreen, you can get badly burned!
Children's swimming pool! The water is not changed, it is muddy even when there are no children there, it is scary to bathe children there, the acquaintances of the child felt bad from such bathing.
Conclusions: more in 3 * we will never turn up!!!!
I really liked the sea, the water is saltier than in the black and red seas, the sand is almost white, small, it's nice to walk on it !!!!
We went to the sea, we are happy with it!
Have a good holiday in Tunisia
Voucher from Express Tour. (I can say about them - not very kind girls).
We flew out early in the morning, we were met, brought and immediately settled, we didn’t have to wait, at our request to the Neptune building (according to recommendations), but with a view of the pool.
We like to sleep after dinner. We fell asleep, but the animation by the pool woke me up, in the evening there was also no rest from them until 01-00 at night, even the bed bounced, the next day they asked at the reception to change the room to a quieter one, they changed it without talking, in the same place in NEPTUNE, but to the patio .
At first I liked the food, then it became boring, not bad, but the same thing. Drinks that you can order are not natural juices and for some reason only through the waiter, you can wait a long time is not very convenient, but if you leave a coin, the next time he runs right to you as soon as he sees.
Cleaning is good.
At the end of the rest, fat Germans came in large numbers, behaved like pigs, they sit on two chairs with one ass, sip beer and neigh. Even ours behaved much more decently. But it's not scary. We only got them for 2 days.
In the shop under the main building I bought leather slippers. Fell apart on day 2. Came to return - not in any. I went to the reception, they took me to the store and returned the money.
Went for a peel. They have some frail instead of 20 minutes - 10. And she is not diligent. I was later told that they were lazy and had to insist on doing it again.
My child (12 years old) found friends there for 2 days and was extremely happy.
I liked the pools - you can swim in all three Marhabs, and also went to Tour Halef, use all 4 bars and pools.
I liked the water aerobics classes, a cool animator.
Gorgeous park.
The child really liked the slides in our hotel.
We went to the Marabou water park, it’s not far on foot for 15 minutes, for money, the children are tired of climbing the stairs, the hotel is a “stone bag”, the pool is cold, and for tourists of the Marabu water park itself they say for a fee.
We had better.
All in all we had a 4 out of 5 stay.
It is a pity that this year they write about bulldozers, and the price is already 20.000 more.
, they sting very much so it is better to go in June, early July. For children, animations, discos, themed parties in Arabic style. Were on excursions in the Sahara, it was very cool to ride camels, jeeps, visit the Bedouins, meet the dawn in the desert, etc.
The first thing you need to know and take with you: beach towels, hair dryer (they are not provided in the hotel). Safe only at the reception for a fee. Those are the negatives, everything else is positive....
Food, like everywhere else (Turkey, Egypt), is the same every day, only meat dishes differ, and side dishes, salads are the same. There are many fruits: watermelons and melons every day, oranges, peaches, grapes, pears, plums alternate. Natural sweets, ice cream for lunch and dinner. Breakfast is good - delicious pancakes and donuts, as well as everywhere else. If you want variety - take HB and dine in cafes...
The territory is large and green - there is a lot of greenery, a huge beautiful garden. You go to the beach through the garden along the shade. The beach is actually 100 meters away. There are 4 pools on the territory, one of them is large with slides with sea salt water, BUT it is also chlorinated, so do not get carried away. The beach is large, cool, white sand, drowning. Sea with algae, but personally they did not interfere with me, the beach itself was cleaned of algae, unlike the neighboring beach of the Jeanine hotel.
Neither pluses nor minuses, but just information - a very strange system of mattresses, they are not constantly on sunbeds, they are taken away in the evening (in my opinion, absolutely unnecessary work), and if you lie on a sunbed, you will not be touched, but if there is only a towel, but you are not there - the mattress will be taken away. This event begins at about 4 pm, it is almost impossible to deal with this (there is such an order in the hotel). These activities are both on the beach and around the pools.
In the bar you can take no more than 4 alcoholic drinks per room, the next approach is not earlier than in 5 minutes. Drinks are also ordinary - local production. What else - the animation is not very good, not in Russian. If a guide on the way from the airport to the hotel will scare you (like us) that no one knows Russian in Tunisia - do not believe it: at the Salem hotel at the reception there is an Arab who knows Russian perfectly (he studied in St. Petersburg), staff, merchants in shops in Porto el Kantaoui, in the Medina of Sousse, in Tunisia, Kafagen, Sidi Bou Said, etc. everyone will understand you and even explain something in Russian. So don't be afraid.
Yes, there are a lot of foreigners in the hotel itself. We rested from 08/12/10 to 08/26/10 - Russian speech sounded extremely rare, but by the end of the rest, OUR RUSSIA flooded... this circumstance was a little upset, because. the soul longed for fellowship.
We rested with a child of 5.5 years. We all liked it. Children for entertainment - water slides, children's playground, children's animation.
The hotel and the country of Tunisia itself made us very happy. During the rest (14 days) I did not want to go home.
Have a good rest everyone.
