I will say briefly right away: 1) Tunisia is a country of a one-time visit; 2) Sousse Palace draws a maximum of 3 *.
So, I’ll start with the advantages of this country and the hotel:
1) the sea is very clean, very transparent, turquoise, fish swim. True, when the water gets very warm, poisonous jellyfish appear, small ones, but remote.
2) the hotel is located directly in the center of Sousse, and as far as we understood, we had the lowest prices for everything: souvenirs, food, leather, shoes. In hotels remote from the city, you can’t buy anything at all.
3) very, very inexpensive locally produced leather: camels, llamas. Shoes are quite European style.
4) for me it is a plus when there are few Russian-speaking population. there are approximately equal numbers of Germans, Italians, French and Russians in the hotel.
Absolute cons:
1) the country is very dirty. Former French colony, French colony - France does not smell here !! ! For those who have been to Egypt, Cairo is cleaner. For those who have been to India - India is cleaner! It is clear that the hotel is constantly cleaned, but since the locals are constantly hanging out on the beach, the beach does not shine.
2) Arabs. Arrogant, ill-mannered, stupid, uneducated! Firstly, the attitude towards Russians was initially disgusting. bias towards Russia. Constantly climb with a desire to communicate. The guide said that even smiling in their direction is not worth it - then they will not get rid of it. So we did. First, obsessive attempts to get to know them, then stupid laughter, then insults like: Natasha, Rasha-Natasha, Rasha-parasha, do you want sex today, let's have sex, you are so sweet, you are so sexy, fuck my ass, fuck your mam, fuk you etc. And this is regardless of the woman's age, modesty or immodest clothing. Despite the fact that those who light up with them, they, of course, do not call them names. At least in her face. One girl was generally cursed for not going into their shop. almost all beaches, especially those in the city, LIVE Arabs. that is, from morning to night we hear their cries, squeals and endure their constant close attention to our person.
3) there is practically nothing to see in the country. But on excursions, I want to go, so as not to sit in this city all the time. we took only Carthage ($56 per person). Everyone speaks well about the Sahara, whoever is interested should like it - a constant change of impressions. Excursion to Carthage 99% of people are not impressive, they do not tell or show anything interesting. Beautiful photos from the blue and white city of Sibu De Said.
4) So, the hotel. Everything that you see in the picture, i. e. the pool is its entire territory. very little space, illogical built-up 20.000 m2. You will be offered to buy rooms with a sea view, the cost is from $30. The rest of the rooms overlook the wonderful city of Sousse. It's not even that it will be very noisy, the view is TERRIBLE, terribly dirty, ugly city, either dilapidated or unfinished. We were wildly lucky - we were given such a number, a girlfriend liked the Russian-speaking administrator. BUT. water is constantly dripping from the air conditioner, 2 bulbs were not on, and despite the fact that we asked 3 TIMES to fix it, nothing has changed. There was a gap of 1.5-2 cm between the window frame and the wall, and if the wind blew from the sea, we had to plug this gap with a curtain, which did not help much. Humidity is very high, especially on the first floor, it is unpleasant to sleep in the bed. There are no Russian channels on TV, they watched German and French. The staff is not bad, but they have a weak sense of tact: even if there is a do not disturb sign on the door, they will still come in. Weird, right? ! ) And the cleaning system is incomprehensible: first in the morning they can come to pick up towels. then you don’t carry them all day, but bring them by 15.00, or they may not bring all the towels, or only for the face, or they will forget to lay sheets... Food. All of them had breakfast and dinner meals. Drinks are included at breakfast, not at dinner, we made do with watermelons. Naturally, it is not cheap to buy drinks in a hotel: water liter 46r, beer 0.3 90r. I won’t describe the entire menu, in general, the food is not bad, they have a tight time with dairy, there was no mashed potatoes and all the food is heavy. Animation is also C grade: water gymnastics, boccia in a monotonous sports performance, for some reason there was only darts once, in the evening music just plays and either they try to get some people to dance, or they can show one idiotic scene designed for German humor.
Now for those who still want to look at the wonderful country of Tunisia, tips:
1) it is better to choose another hotel. You can also in Sousse, but different.
2) Money, we changed at the reception. because there is no difference in the bank. On the Internet, the exchange rate was 1.26 against the dollar, in the country it was 1.4. that is, on our 1 Dinar - 23 Rubles. 1 dinar is made up of 1000 millilims. It is better to pay with dinars everywhere, because. in each tent you will come up with your own profitable exchange rate, in some places 1/1 against the dollar. They accept rubles only as a souvenir, because it is impossible to exchange them for dinars in the country. We changed parts, because dinars can only be exchanged for dollars at the airport, in rare cases at the hotel.
3) shopping. All products on the street and in the medina are expensive. Medina is the central, old part of the city with shops. Basically, everything is expensive. We bought groceries in a state store: you leave the hotel to the right, you reach the sea and turn left, after walking 250 meters you will see this store. there water costs 0.320-0.400 millilims per 1.5 liters, juice 1.7 dinars on average, peaches 1.5 dinars per kg, dates 3.6 dinars (by the way, tasty and not as sweet as ours), fig peaches 3 , five. ordinary olive oil from 4.6 to 7 dinars per liter. with flavors (herbs, paprika, lemon) 2.5 dinars per 0.350 ml.
Tunisia has delicious ice cream. 1 dinar 100 grams.
Absolutely everyone brings several bags and shoes from there. CHEAP. Initially, of course, they will offer you a very high price, but as soon as you name yours and say, but in the same store I saw it for so much and start leaving, they will immediately begin to reduce the price. do not be afraid to stand your ground - buy it at your own price anyway =)) the approximate cost of one medium-sized leather bag is 20 dinars. A good pair of shoes can be bought for 30 dinars. but we are still in the discount season.
4) girls and women, try to dress as closed as possible, this, of course, is unlikely to help, but still, it’s even more calm to walk along their streets.
5) language. better to know French or English. some spit in German. Your Russian, it's better not to use it at all. By the way, several times my girlfriend and I pretended to be Italians, Chinese, Englishwomen, something was chirping not on our own - you know, it helped =) just passed and looked at us in surprise =))
6) at the airport it turned out that, firstly, you can take a palm tree out of there, they sold large shells with roots on the street. We did not know, unfortunately we did not buy. Also, at their airport, they have their own ideas about the weight of a suitcase: not 20 kg per person, but 30 kg per suitcase, otherwise you will pay.
7) at the airport there is a very good duty free service regarding perfumes, here finally the influence of France!
8) You can go to Port El Kantau. but it's not as pretty as they say. It's just that with respect to Sousse, it's a little cleaner and nicer. The prices are higher.
We expected to go to the water park there, but we were told that the seams are very felt there, you will tear everything off.
By the way, as always with Pegasus, our flight was postponed for 2 hours, which we learned about the evening before. But they were picked up from the hotel at 11.30 4.5 hours before the plane. Although in the end we did not take off at 15.55, as our flight was rescheduled, but at 6 o'clock..... Muscovites were less fortunate, they were rescheduled for 7.5 hours, they were taken from the hotel at 3.35 at night. Forever Pegasus! yes, by the way, at the expense of Pegasus, we spit from him for the 2nd time. if possible, fly with Tez Tour, Natalie Tours and other more competent tour operators.
In general, we had a good rest on our own, there were pleasant tourists in the hotel, all from different countries, it was interesting to communicate. I won’t say, of course, that we regretted that we went - we need to see everything. But the second time there is definitely no desire to visit this country. By the way, FOR PEOPLE WITH CHILDREN, entry into the sea is good - very long shallow.
Happy holidays!!!! ! Take everything from Tunisia!! ! =)

In general, I don’t recommend going to Tunisia in mid-October - it’s already cold there, the temperature is + 23 + 24, strong winds, the sea is quite cold, you drive yourself with difficulty. The description of the hotel on the website is incorrect: there is only one pool - open, without heating, it was even colder to swim in it than in the sea. There is no mini club. The refrigerator is not in every room, but somewhere in general is CLOSED with a lock and money is required for using it - 2 dinars a day. The use of sun loungers by the pool is free of charge, if you take a bed - 1 dinars, if you take a sun lounger on the beach - 2 dinars per day. The beach belongs to the hotel. In general, the "everything is excluded" system works. Drinks at dinner are PAID. Moreover, they charge 2 dinars (1 dollar = 1.26 dinars) for a bottle of plain water, while in a store it costs 200 millimeters (20 kopecks, to put it simply). Breakfast includes coffee, tea and traditional yupi. The food is not bad, but on the days of some conferences it is directly canceled. From fruits they gave melons, watermelons, pomegranates, apples, pears, plums. In principle, we were satisfied with the feeding, sometimes the truth was that the breakfasts were meager, especially if you eat at 7 in the morning. The rooms, in principle, correspond to the photographs, but the cunning guys from the reception settle specifically in a room overlooking the street, although 70 percent of the rooms overlook the sea and the pool. For a sea view, an additional charge of 40 dinars is taken. The rooms are not cleaned well, God forbid, if the towels are changed in time and the bed is made, we paid baksheesh - a dinar a day and we were quickly cleaned, though they never vacuumed, and the linen seemed to be changed only once in 11 days. Those who did not pay could not be cleaned until 2, or they took the towels and did not bring them back, and the same garbage with the replenishment of shampoos and shower gels, soaps. During our stay at the hotel, there were 4 thefts - three - from the Russians (they stole money, mobile phones, they didn’t even disdain an expensive bathrobe) and another 100 euros were stolen from one German woman. They even stole glasses from a sun lounger by the pool. The hotel management only sympathized, even the police were not called. And given that the robbed tourists left after 2 days, they simply did not contact. The safe is paid - 20 dinars deposit + 2 dinars per day, the deposit was not returned to our guys, as some piece of paper got wet and became unreadable. Just in case, I had to carry a camera and mobile phones, as well as money, with me constantly. The animation is not bad - the guys tried their best, in the evenings - some kind of program. In the morning - stretching and water aerobics. In the evening - live music. True, the local Elton John sang a maximum of 5 songs (if the mood is good), and so three. The main plus of the hotel is its proximity to the Medina and the bazaar. And so the hotel is a solid three-ruble note.

I visited the hotel with my wife in September 2009. The feedback is generally positive, but not enthusiastic. I would put 4, but not very hard. Rooms are good, cleaned every day. The food is so-so - no variety and everything is very spicy, so we regularly went out to "eat up" in city cafes. Animation is also so-so, my favorite volleyball was completely in the pen. I got the impression that Europeans are more loved here than Russians. Rest mostly Germans.
In general, excursions to the Sahara and Carthage compensated for all minor grievances, and the rest was a success. To be honest, I won't go again.

I give the hotel a solid four... To be honest, I don’t understand Russian citizens, who, it seems to me, come to rest to eat, sleep, and I think you can guess about the latter... the hotel is nice, nice people work at the reception and we lived great with a view on the street on the 8th floor. . . were watching the life of the city. … More ▾ I give the hotel a solid four... I choose the second one. . . the sea is just 5+. . . a wonderful entrance, and we had no problems with sunbeds. . . yes, 2 dinars, but in many countries sunbeds are paid. . . by the way, you can easily determine where they are" ours", and where not... "ours" as a rule do not want to pay 2 dinars and lie on the sand... local... well, if compared with the same Turkey, then this is heaven and earth... dumbfounded, insolent Turks and they don’t stand next to the Arabs (my personal opinion)... yes, you will be told the word Hello a thousand times a day, but it seems to me not fatal... The hotel is located next to many shops, where you can buy water, and a lot something different... to nightclubs by taxi for 5-7 minutes, on foot for 15 minutes... to eat in Port - El - Kantaoui is a must... there are very nice cafes where you can have a good time, and the place itself is beautiful. . . in general, don’t listen to anyone... just determine the purpose of your vacation for yourself - if you want to have a good time, then you will be fine in a 2-shka... and Sousse Palace left us only pleasant impressions I. . .
and by the way, be sure to run into the ice cream shop next to the hotel (there it is very tasty; ). . .

Pros: Getting a decent room with a sea view (a fun game at the reception) will cost quite a bit on the spot. The food is decent. The staff is friendly. The territory is clean. Towels, they say, are paid, but it’s not clear where to get them, but we bought a new one for 9 D (about $ 7) Cons: Room cleaning consists of making the bed. … More ▾ Pros: Getting a decent room with a sea view (a fun game at the reception) will cost quite a bit on the spot. I note that a room with a sea view on the second floor of a 4-storey building (that is, right on the beach) was given to us without any hints at all, and even more so without money. You can find fault with the dirty carpeting in the corridors of the hotel, with the old wall plaster in the room, but against the background of daily high-quality cleaning, these shortcomings are trifles. The pool is quite large and allows you to swim and dive in it. The food is normal, you can always find what you like. The staff is friendly and diligent. As for the minuses, this is a strange order with the distribution of tables in the restaurant between hotel guests.
When you visit a restaurant for the first time, you must give the card to one of the restaurant employees, and you must be allocated a table. The right to a table is fixed by the same card, which should be on the table all the time you stay at the hotel. The problem is that on the second visit, we did not find our card on the table, besides, it was already occupied by other people. Therefore, we moved to another table, but after 15 minutes tourists from Germany came, whose table we occupied, and complained about this to the waiter. He asked us to take another place next time. In general, this is how we wandered from table to table every time, in search of unoccupied people.
It is worth noting that chaise longues and mattresses for them are paid, the cost is 2 dinars per set. In principle, I didn’t have to pay every time, since I only paid after the fact, when a hotel worker approached me and demanded payment. And if you are going to go to this hotel, then settle in a 3-storey building, its condition and location are much better than in a high-rise building, the windows of which overlook the city with not very pleasant smells. Upon receipt of the room, please contact the front desk worker with a wish to settle in a 3-storey complex. For a good room, he will ask for 10 dinars per day, he asked for 70 dinars from us, bargained for 40. There are not many excursions offered at the hotel, there are no tour desks on the street like in Turkey at all. Worth a trip to the Sahara. She is 2 days old. We rented a car and drove the route of this excursion on our own for 1030 km, and also in two days. Helped us in this book-guide to Tunisia. Impressions remained vivid.

Well, what can I say about Sousse Palace, it is very well located in the very center of Sousse, 300m from the medina and sula center. On one side is the street, on the other is the beach. Moreover, the wind always blows from the sea, so the presence of the city is not felt at all. The staff does not speak Russian at all, but I think that these are our problems (at school I need to study, I spoke English, everything was fine, many of our tourists and they hardly speak Russian), but very friendly, especially if you throw another coin. … More ▾ Well, what can I say about Sousse Palace, it is very well located in the very center of Sousse, 300m from the medina and sula center. The rooms are a little shabby but fully correspond to the official photos. Nothing was stolen from the room, even when I left a tip in the wrong place, they lay untouched. I don’t know about changing linen and towels (many people don’t know that dirty linen needs to be folded in a separate place) and why I don’t know why to change them every day (I wonder how many times a month you change your house). In general, the impressions are good, especially when compared with other hotels located nearby, except for (Abu Navas Bu Jafar).

Rested at the end of May, beginning of June. Of the pluses, the hotel is in the center of the old city, it has its own beach. All. The food is monotonous, the hotel is large and noisy, similar to Soviet hotels of the 80s of the last century, the rooms seem to be cleaned only superficially. This hotel serves as a haven for local clingy young people, who have one task - to lure money out of you (by the way, the hotel staff also succeeded in this) It seems that everyone is friendly, but it's kind of. … More ▾ Rested at the end of May, beginning of June. They fed very well. True, I didn’t really like breakfast, but at dinner it was something. Pastries, cakes, pastries are just the sea ...different types of meat, ice cream, salads ...A test for those who want to lose weight! At dinner, drinks are paid (five times more expensive than they really are! )
The hotel area is very beautiful. The pool is large and warm. Sunbeds and mattresses are paid (2 dinars each), umbrellas on the beach are free. The beach is clean, fenced and guarded. You can safely leave the bag at least for the whole day, no one will touch it. Locals are not allowed on the beach.
The sea was warm and absolutely transparent, just like in the pictures of magazines.

The animations are very cool guys.
During the day for those who wish, volleyball, aqua aerobics, darts, water polo, children's disco. In the evening they put on a show. I have been to all the shows, I advise you to visit them daily, you will be in a great mood.
There were a lot of Germans in the hotel, especially the elderly, Italians, French, Poles and Balts, too, there were a lot of Russians in total 6 people. They hardly speak Russian at the hotel, but they try. They greeted each other in Russian.
Another very important tip: do not buy drinks from the hotel or in it. Better go to the General store, everything is there (food, cosmetics). It is close to the hotel. If you can’t find it, then just say the word General to any Tunisian, they will definitely show you the way. We were led there by the hand. In the shop you can buy 6 bottles of water for 2 dinars, and in the hotel one bottle costs 1.5 dinars.

We are going to Tunisia for the May holidays, we expected that the weather would already be warm to sunbathe, but if you believe the forecasts on the Internet, it is colder in Sousse than in Kyiv, and I don’t know what clothes to take, warmer or summer + windbreaker? Please tell me how it will be better and whether to believe the weather forecasts or is it not so cold and rainy in reality? Thanks in advance.
