The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly, everything is at home! If the motivation for the trip is to relax alone, with a minimum presence of people (if you are tired of communicating in your homeland), then this hotel is very suitable. We did not get to the sea... : ), there were enough pools.

Probably, the title of my review will seem rather pretentious, but what is true is true. We all know perfectly well that even if something is not very good on vacation, but your friends are with you, you have fun and you have a super mood, everything will be wonderful. We were in Golden Cliff with a friend in February 2009.

We were in Golden Cliff with a friend in February 2009. We had a great rest!!!! ! Liked everything! And my introduction does not apply to this hotel at all.
For a trio, great! If you compare it with European triplets, let's say with Spanish ones. . . in general, it cannot be compared. Golden Cliff is way better!
Excellent staff (Thais are generally cheerful and kind), a delicious breakfast, although monotonous, saves the pool with sea water, which, by the way, is not found in any other hotel. The sea in Pattaya is not the most beautiful, so this pool really saved me when I was too lazy to go to the beach in search of clean water.
The rooms are good. Spacious enough. Unless there is no curtain in the shower, and all the water is on the floor. But after 2 days we forgot about this minus sign!
Twisted nightlife and daytime discussions of what happened at night... ))
If you decide to go to Pattaya, the hotel is clearly not the most vivid memory that you will have from your vacation. But Golden Cliff is great! I advise! And not very expensive.

My husband and I have been staying at this hotel since October 2007. We chose the hotel ourselves, after a long search we settled on Golden Cliff and did not regret it a bit, on the contrary. When we went on excursions and called in for people from 5 * in the center of Pattaya, I honestly felt sorry for these people, they were deprived of clean fresh air, peace and tranquility.

The rooms are spacious, but with a balcony we were not lucky, we were settled in a room by a cat. I was in the round tower of the castle, and there was no balcony as such, there was some kind of 0.5 meter wide and 1 meter long, but we liked everything so much that it didn’t even occur to us to ask for another room. There is a kettle in the room, every day they put two packs of one-shot coffee, dry cream, sugar. Also on the day of arrival you will be given a set: toothbrushes, paste, shower gel, shampoo.
On the first day of arrival, we rented a motorbike and drove it all two weeks, so we had no problems with going to the center of Pattaya, but we went to Mini Siam and Madame Nong Nooch's garden, arranged excursions ourselves)).
The swimming pool with the sea is very nicely located, where we hung out every night when we arrived from the city center, after walking along Walking Street and just walking along the streets of Pattaya. It was magical, I still have clear images of the picture in my memory, how we lie on chaise longues at night, drink local beer, listen to the sound of the waves and there is no one around, not a single living soul and it really feels like you are completely alone in the hotel.

Been to Golden Cliff twice already. For the first time 2 years ago. I think this is the best 3* (and some 4*) hotel in Pattaya. Another huge plus for me was that it is not located on Walking St. , but right at the beginning of Jomtien Beach. due to the location of the hotel, it is quiet and you can swim in the sea, unlike the super dirty Pattaya beach (there is a Beach road along the beach, keep in mind there are no hotels on the 1st coastline).

More about the hotel:
* I do not recommend for couples with children (if animation is needed)
1- as already written, the hotel is built in the shape of a castle (which is surprising for Tai), the rooms are 20 sq. m. (approximately), bath / toilet is normal, not all rooms face the sea, the balconies are small (very small), it is quite difficult to climb to the 4th floor (top floor) - spiral staircases.
2- breakfasts: few fruits (but there are always melons, watermelons, papaya, bananas), sausages, eggs, rice with something, toast, salad (chopped cucumbers, tomatoes and salad from which you can make a salad).
Normal juices (coffee and tea, as always, "neochen"), but you won't stay hungry, except for the most picky ones.
3 - the territory is small, but very green and beautiful - gazebos, tables, etc.
4- swimming pool- EXCELLENT sea water pool that borders the sea! you can swim in it at night. There is also a fresh pool just above.
5- beach: the hotel stands right on the seashore, BUT the coast is rocky and there is no pantone, so you need to walk 2 minutes (200 meters) to the beach along the path from the hotel. Fine. The water is always clear, but not sky blue. peddlers of shrimp-caps-corn, etc. are constantly walking - a little tiring
6- staff: normal (friendly, trying to help, of course, not well-trained like in GOOD 5 *, but even at the level of the usual Egyptian-Turkish "five" ....even better! not rude). remembered me when I came for the second time : )
there is the island of Koh Lan nearby - the water is blue there, and the sand is fine as flour and white (see below for how to get there)
7- no animation
8- always quiet and calm. it seems that the hotel is no more than 10 people resting. That's great!
9- vacationers: 2 years ago there were Germans, Italians, ours and Chinese (approximately equal, and since the hotel is small, then a few people each : )), this year there were mostly ours (I consider Ukrainians-Belarusians to be ours ) and the Chinese! but they made no noise. the hotel is small so everything is ok.
Adviсe:
1) to get to the center (Walking st. for example) take a tuk-tuk or taxi. the hotel does not have them, but the Adriatic hotel always has them. Get there like this: get out of the Golden Gliff and turn right towards the beach, after 50 meters the road rounds off and goes along the beach - go along the road for another 200-300 meters (motorbikers will offer to bring you along the way - if you are not afraid - get rid of them) and the road rests on the Adriatic Hotel. Here you can catch tuk-tuks (100 baht, regardless of the number of passengers), by taxi (these are silver minibuses standing right outside the hotel) are also 100 baht, sometimes they take you for 150.
2) go to Koh Lan
- clean and transparent "blue" water
- very white and fine sand
how to get there:
from the hotel, go to the Adriatic (see above) and catch a tuk-tuk or taxi and ask to be taken to the Port (so say "port" - it is also in English the port: ). The port is right at the beginning of Walking street. You buy boat tickets at the port (they go from 8 am to 12 there and back until 17-18).
about boats:
There are "fast" boats. they go 40 minutes and bring to the largest beach (there is no pier - like a struggle for cleanliness, so you have to wait a long time in the sun until everyone is loaded into boats and taken to the beach - not the most pleasant time). there is a ticket 150 (somewhere 115 rubles) round-trip baht.
but there are ordinary boats (exactly the same). in time they go 40-50 minutes, a ticket costs 20 baht one way, and they are taken either to China beach (Chinese beach) or to the port of the island. I highly recommend Chinese Beach! The sand is the finest on the island and the descent into the sea is the best + there are fewer people. This is the best beach on the island. checked!
And so, if you immediately arrived at the Chinese Beach, super, and if you go to the port, then: go along the pier to the shore, immediately go out onto the road, turn left and go for a couple of minutes without turning anywhere from the road - you are at the tuk-tuk parking lot. They deliver to different beaches. Say that you are on China Beach and go there for 20 baht along with other vacationers. Drive a maximum of 5 minutes.
on this beach, however, there are many Korean-Chinese until 12-12:30, but then they leave (simultaneously and quickly) and very few people remain on the beach. it's just great!
You drive back straight from the beach - there is a prichzhal. the last boat leaves at 17:00 (you buy a ticket right when you land - 20 baht)
* if you look at the beach from the sea, then on the right (pass through the bridge and the pier) there is another beach, but a small one - it is not fenced with a net (unlike the "main Chinese beach", where there is a net 100 meters from the shore, not allowing sea urchins and fish larger than 10 cm. ), so you can swim with a snorkel.
Caution: a lot of sea urchins, be careful (it's good that you can see them, because the water is super clean - the main thing is to look under your feet)
3) restaurants:
1- Opposite the Adriatic Hotel (where there is a taxi and tuk-tuk rank) there is an excellent "Russian cafe" - the menu is in Russian and the waiters speak our language (albeit a little: ). the cafe doesn't look like much, but the food and especially the juices are just super! you can also find boiled shrimp there! not in batter, not fried in oil, but boiled (those who were in tae will understand: ). And, of course, dumplings, potatoes and our other dishes are also there). And at very ridiculous prices, even for Tai. By the way, there is an excellent Thai massage nearby.
2- at the beginning of Walking st. (from the side of the port) there is an open-air restaurant - it will be the first on the left. there is very, very, very tasty food (and a huge selection of everything, including shrimp and mini-lobsters in ice, which cooks + sushi prepare in front of you : )), live music happens Yes, there is a buffet!
750 baht is all a pleasure (it may be a little expensive for a thai, but by Moscow standards it’s just ridiculous). The restaurant is open from 18:00 to 24:00.
Well, that seems to be all. "Detailed" review turned out: )). I wonder if anyone will read it to the end...
Have a great holiday everyone! I hope you enjoy Thailand as much as I do. Good luck!

There are actually several ways to get to the center:
1. On foot. Pros: free; there is an opportunity to leisurely get acquainted with the area. Cons: only get high for the first time : )
2. On a caught taxi. Pros: cheaper than a taxi from the hotel (yes, you can also bargain); fast. Cons: taxis in this area are quite rare, so if you don’t bargain with the driver, you can wait for another taxi indefinitely.
3. MY CHOICE! Motorcycle taxi. Literally 200 meters from the hotel (opposite the main entrance to the beach) taxi drivers-motorcyclists are always on duty. Pros: even chartering 2 motorbikes (for two people) is cheaper than by taxi; amazing sensations from the trip (masterfully maneuvering between other road users, motorcycle taxi drivers, however, never take risks and protect their passengers). Cons: once again getting off the motorcycle, I put my shin on the war pipe (I don’t know what it’s called there) and earned a small burn (but this is already from the area of u200bu200bmy own debilism).
In general, the result is this: a hotel from the category of "must have". After reviewing the locations of several other hotels, I realized that "it was me who successfully entered" : )
Recomend for everybody.

the hotel is very peculiar, it is impossible to say whether it is good or bad, since its minuses are its pluses, for example, when you are going to the city in the evening, you regret that the hotel is far from the city, and when you return, you think how good it is, that it is far from the city, at least there is something to breathe , the hotel is small, so you can swim in the pool all night, it’s especially good when you walk around the city, you come to the pool with sea water, and there is warm water in it and everything is tired as if by hand, but on the other hand there is no beach, even a city one, up to one you have to walk for about five minutes, but there you can hurt your legs on the shell rock, and on the second walk slowly exactly 20 minutes, it’s near the Patai Asia hotel, it’s nice and clean enough and there are few people.

the hotel is small, so the breakfasts are quite monotonous and not as plentiful as in large hotels, but if you arrive at 10:30, you will not leave hungry. there are almost no people near the pool, which is also good, but on the other hand, those who like noisy companies will be bored there. if you're traveling to be in silence and reduce all communication to a minimum, then you won't find a better place. peace and quiet are guaranteed. also if you figure out how to use local transport and are not too lazy to walk to the main roads. then you can ride a tuk-tuk for 10 baht per person. I also advise you to make a visa in advance, since upon arrival in stuffiness and in a mess, you will stand for at least three hours.

The hotel is small, belongs to the category of club hotels. There are, in my opinion, only 30 rooms, no more. Three wings - Tower, Garden and Sea view. The staff is very friendly, as well as everywhere in Pattaya.
The restaurant is just awesome! With a kind of Italian bias, but with the obligatory elements of national dishes. The hotel is located right on the seafront. Has two! ! pools - one with fresh water, the second with salt (sea)!! ! water (the only hotel with such a chip).
An important circumstance is that the residence of the king's sister is located 150 meters from the hotel, that is, there is a round-the-clock military guard nearby, you can sleep peacefully : ), although there is nothing to be afraid of in Pattaya. But nonetheless. The prices are very reasonable.
We rested in September, not the season that is. Double apartments cost us 18 bucks a day! True, they said that in winter the same number costs 50 USD per day. By the way, the hotel has everything you need - internet, conference room, fax and what else business people need : ) At least my husband periodically received some kind of faxes and endless emails. . .
In general, I'm going to go there in January. It is inconvenient that you can only get to the entertainment center by calling a taxi or using the hotel car, but after a good evening it is so nice to return to the hotel, located away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets.
Have a nice holiday!
