So my wife and I visited the Ambassador Hotel, inn wing building. This happened in late April/early March 2018. We read/heard a lot about this hotel and presented an approximate picture. So they were mentally prepared. But in the end, everything turned out to be quite nice and pleasant. But let's talk about everything in order, my dears)))
We rested through Anextour.
Arrived in Utapao at 5-00 (local time).
We arrived at the hotel around 8:00. Check-in STRICTLY from 14-00 (already wrote about it).
Upon check-in, a deposit of $ 100 is charged (give at check-out, if not very barogosili in the room).
For Internet addicts, there is NO free Wi-Fi in the hotel. If the white gentleman wishes, he can purchase a password for 1 day at the registration desk (something around 100 baht, I don’t remember exactly, because I didn’t buy it). However, in Anex you will be given free SIM cards from a local mobile operator. You put 100 baht on this card and connect 7 days of unlimited.
This was quite enough for us for all sorts of WhatsApp / Viber, etc.
ROOM. We had an IT category number. The smallest. The room has two single beds, a refrigerator, a TV stand, a small wardrobe and a TV. I didn’t check the performance of the TV, because I basically don’t watch it on vacation. The room has one bathroom (shower with a partition, sink and toilet).
The bed linen is old, shabby, but washed. Room cleaning every day. However, it is difficult to call it cleaning. Towels are changed, beds are made, gel/soap is put in and a damp cloth is passed through the center of the room. Here's some cleaning. Although, perhaps, this is Thai cleaning.
On the other hand, such cleaning is better than none!
I almost forgot! Of course, the room has air conditioning. It buzzes decently, but after a couple of days you get used to it. Coolness gives and okay.
TERRITORY. Everyone writes that a large area. And as they say in Odessa, YES!
Of course, you won’t be able to walk for hours, but you need to walk not in a hotel, but in parks and on excursions. There are benches on the territory, but they are very few. Apparently, so that Russian tourists would not arrange traditional gatherings until the morning with a volume of Petrov-Vodkin) I did not see a swing / carousel for children. Although one of the pools has a few water slides. In total, there are 4 pools on the territory of the hotel (actually 5, but the fifth one is only for the guests of the Ocean building and members of the Supreme Council of the Central Committee of the CPSU))). Near each point where you will be given a towel. In the evening, at the same point, it (towel) must be handed over.
BREAKFASTS. As they say, you won't go hungry. I confirm! Rice (3 types), soups (2 types), salads, fried eggs, sausages (chicken and beef), tea, coffee, juices, fruits (watermelon tray and pineapple tray). You can make your own toast. It is forbidden to take out food (there are signs in Russian), but ours take it out anyway))) Well, they probably don’t get enough!
The breakfast itself is served from 7:00 to 10:00.
FOOD (EXCEPT BREAKFASTS). You can eat both in the cafe on site and in street cafes across the street from the Ambassador (much cheaper). Here everyone chooses for himself. We ate in the streets (in the institution of a sweet grandmother with the name / nickname - BBC). For all 10 days there were no problems with the intestines. Well, a nice bonus in street cafes is free Wi-Fi (just tell the hostess Wi-Fi and show your smartphone/tablet).
BEACH. From the first visit to the hotel beach, we decided that it was dirty. However, after we visited central Pattaya, we realized that the beach in Ambassador is quite decent. So everything is relative. A couple of days later we drove to the beach of a dancing girl (a distant military beach). There is really clean sea there. By the way, we went in a minivan with a Conder, which comes directly from the territory of the Ambassador. This pleasure costs 150 baht per person (children are free).
They also return you immediately to the territory of the Ambassador. The driver picks up a full cabin and takes you to the beach (it takes about 30 minutes to drive). All passengers on the trip agree on the time of the return departure (no later than 17-00). Upon arrival at the beach, the driver is told the time of the return departure and he indicates where he will pick up the group. Then free time on the beach. There are cafes near the beach. Food in them is slightly more expensive than in Pattaya (for example, small Tom Yam 110 baht). On the beach you can rent sun loungers, umbrellas, etc. Once we went on an excursion to the island of Koh Samet. Mixed impressions...
On the one hand, the clear sea and white sand. On the other hand, there are just mountains of garbage along the roads on the island itself. And this is a protected national reserve?!? ! Perhaps the logic is that the keyword is PROTECTED, ie. cleaning and keeping clean is not necessary. Then everything is logical)))
CURRENCY EXCHANGE. It is more profitable to exchange dollars for baht, although rubles can also be used. There was no exchanger in our building (INN WING).
I didn’t see it in other buildings (maybe I didn’t look for it). Near the exit from the territory of the Ambassador (next to the elevated pedestrian crossing) there are a couple of exchangers. You will cross the road for 5 more pieces. The course is approximately the same. The first day everyone went around and the difference in the exchange rate of baht to the dollar was 0.1 baht (that is, for 1 dollar they gave 31.1 baht somewhere, and somewhere 31.2 baht). According to my observations, the most profitable exchange rate is in yellow exchangers (some kind of local network).
And do not be surprised that EVERYWHERE the dollar exchange rate depends on the denomination of a dollar bill (100.50 one rate, 20.10 another rate (worse), 5.2, 1 third rate (very bad)). It is said to be an ancient Thai tradition.
Let me explain with an example:
You change 100 dollars in one bill (or 2 bills of 50). You get 31.2*100=3120 baht.
You change $100 (5 $20 bills). You get 31.0*100=3100 baht.
You change $100 (20 $5 bills). You get 30.0*100=3000 baht.
The courses in the example are taken from the ceiling, but the general algorithm, I hope, is clear)))
TOTAL.
Rest were satisfied.
We already knew about most of the subtleties and it helped a lot. If you have any questions write, I will try to answer!
No control of people entering the hotel - anyone from the street can enter and do whatever they want there.
In comparison, it is easier to choose any condominium in the area, and it will be safer there. No strangers, no drunken cattle, no fights and loud music at five in the morning.
Purely
Breakfast is poor but will go for a C grade
Cons: all Russian tourists from Siberia live in this hotel. If you want to take a break from Russia, you need to choose another hotel and not Pattaya. What was my mistake. For the first time in such a place there are only Russian people, which means debauchery, drunken yelling, singing, smoking, vulgar ladies and shameless men. I'm not here anymore. .
Friendly staff, make concessions, help and even suggested where the highest dollar rate in Pattaya. How you treat them is how they treat you. When we checked into the hotel, we gave a couple of chocolates as a gift to the guys, so to speak, they were treated with respect. Smile and your problems will be solved very quickly.
For breakfast they give the same thing every day, but don’t despair, after Thai eda, such a “simple” breakfast for a Thai, and such a necessary breakfast for our stomach, will come in handy. Delicious, satisfying, no frills. Specifically: steamed rice, rice with stewed chicken, chicken and pork sausages, fried eggs with a liquid egg on top, tomatoes / cucumbers / lettuce and dressings for them, if you want, you make a salad. Also chicken soup, tea / coffee + toast with delicious jams, sweet watermelon and pineapple (very tasty).
In principle, if you eat with the expectation that the hotel is only for an overnight stay, then this is a good option, but be sure to take a tour with breakfast, because in the morning it’s better to have a bite of our food, and just go awake and look for something somehow not very comfortable.
Cleaned every day, sometimes given a tip, always satisfied with the quality of cleaning.
Of the minuses - Wi-Fi in the hotel is paid, it costs 90 baht per day, which is extremely unprofitable, as I’ll tell you for a note, you can buy a local SIM card and replenish it by 100-200 baht (replenish in big C or 7/11u supermarkets cashier) and sit on the Internet in social networks, with the transfer of photos / videos, and this will be enough for you for your vacation (but without viber calls). By the way, we received a SIM card as a gift from our guide, and replenished it with only 100 baht and this was enough for me for 8 days. Here also consider.
They take a $100 deposit. Return! The main thing is not to rub or beat anything in the room. We were returned, they didn’t even look at the room (but we left early, at 6 in the morning)
Also of the minuses is the "dirty" sea near the coastal zone. In principle, in Pattaya, the polluted sea (as in Odessa or in the Crimea, similar in color) due to infrastructure, so do not be surprised, but immediately go to the island of Koh Lan to the beach "Tien", that's where the water and sand are like from the Bounty advertisement . : )
And remember that Thais are Buddhists and Buddhism is not a religion but a way of life. Smile!
The hotel is large, there are a lot of Russians, to say the least, we got the impression that we got to the Krasnodar coast. After registration, we got room 8241, right in the center of the building. There was everything in the room and a kettle and tea with coffee and bathroom accessories. There was no safe in the room. He is located at the reception, and even works on time, which is very inconvenient. Another thing I didn't like was the air conditioner. There is no remote control, I had to get up and it blows very strongly. Another fat minus is paid wi-fi (everyone connects the Internet to a local number).
What was even more upsetting was the meeting with the hotel guide Aneks. We spent 3 hours of our time on all sorts of chatter and nonsense. By the way, if you are told that you need to register with the police, then this is not true. More experienced tourists did not go to the meeting and flew away with us without registration. Departure time they hang out at the reception, next to the stairs. Excursions from the operator are more expensive by 2 times. There are several agencies near the hotel.
The rest of the hotel arranged for us. The rooms are bright, although small, good cleaning. Always reported accessories, changed towels, put water. The staff is friendly, they try to speak Russian. Large area of the complex, everything is clean, well maintained, green. Several pools, each of the buildings. Cafes, markets, exchange offices, there are always tuk-tuks ready to take you to the city center.
Like it or not, we liked Pattaya more than Phuket. It is cheaper here, and somehow cozy, more impressions about the rest, about trips. The sea is just not very much cleaner in Phuket. Will we return again? Definitely yes. Maybe even in this hotel.
Everything is expensive there and the service is disgusting, they don’t like Russians.
1) The exchange rate of the baht is high. For 1000 rubles they give only 415 baht. The Ukrainian currency is even more expensive. The Thais lowered the Russian currency below the plinth. A country of gays, trannys and prostitutes. They caved in under the Americans.
2) Thais are absolutely not friendly and hospitable. In vain they write about them that they are supposedly smiling. Not one smiled in 12 days. Thais go to Pattaya rather to earn money than to provide service.
3) Service is lame. Constantly strained oohs and aahs from neighboring rooms (huge audibility), where Russian perverts ordered Thai prostitutes and gays. A company of cattle from Russia came to the hotel, who smoked in the rooms (for which they were fined 2000 baht = 4700 r), drank alcohol, made a row at night, did not let me sleep, turned on loud music by the pool "a la Russian chanson", got and rude to hotel staff. Such cattle used to go to Turkey and Egypt. And when these directions were closed, they flew to Thailand. Shame on the Russians.
Breakfasts at the hotel are monotonous: rice, rice with eggs, cucumbers, tomatoes, greens, yupi-type juice from powder: orange soda, only black tea of terrible quality. And so every day.
In the market, fruits are all expensive: mangosteen 1 kg = 140 baht (337 rubles), mango 1 kg = 70 baht (167 rubles). And this is the cheapest fruit!!!
4) The sea is dirty, gray, sewer smell - almost everywhere in Pattaya and on the territory of the hotel.
5) No room service: in 12 days the pastel was changed 1 time. Mold and sewer smell in room and shower.
In the morning you wake up from the gnashing of forks, spoons. What they do with them at 6.00 in the morning is unclear. The rooms are noisy, uncomfortable, with black frames. Frames are not washed. Military barracks in one word.
6) American soldiers rest everywhere on the upper floors of the Oken Wing and Marina Tower buildings: they hold a military base in Pattaya for a week, rest in the Ambassador for a week and watch Russian tourists (especially girls) from hotels on the beach. By the way, only Russians sunbathe on the beach, neither Thais nor Chinese sunbathe. So in the event of a war with the United States, they can shoot all Russians.
Only in this country on vacation did I experience a feeling of fear, and not only the American military, but also the Russians themselves (“redneck”) terrified.
7) Excursions are all very expensive from 1400 baht (3373 rubles) and above. Therefore, I do not recommend with children. Guides: Ramina and Anton are evil, bitchy, they only force you to buy excursions from them, otherwise they threaten not to let you out of the country.
8) But the worst thing is that on the Sukhumvit road, drivers knock down a huge number of Russians to death and absolutely do not care about this, and the Thai authorities are also indifferent to the murder of Russians. For them, human life is nothing!
A lot of Russians are drowning in the river Kwai. Russians, do not take this tour. If anything, the Thais will not even bury you, but simply forget. So, this is karma, they will say. Tin...., not a country.
They are like not people, but reptilian, cold-blooded animals.
It is not for nothing that they worship them (snakes, dragons, crocodiles).
Worse than the country, the hotel and the rest we had!
9) Conclusion: I do not advise anyone Thailand: a poor country where boys are converted into girls and tend to be given to prostitutes. And the king issues interest-free loans for this. Apparently the same.
We took an excursion to Bangkok: we didn’t like it: dirty boats, where we had to climb up in a hurry, there wasn’t even a ladder. They didn’t really let us have lunch: in 10 minutes everyone was turned off and kicked out: and in the Bangkok Sky restaurant, by the time you get to the drinks and back: it will already take 5 minutes. No service. And it costs 1600 baht (3764r). In short, it's not worth it.
10) Thais are greedy, rude, soulless, sexually horny people. On vacation there should not be negative emotions, but there were so many of them! Starting with pity for the Thai gay boys working at the hotel. There are no just real normal men. And it’s disgusting to look at the rest of the male likeness and corrupt taeks!
1. Room and meals.
The room is modest without frills. Of the minuses of the room, it is dark and there is no balcony. The air conditioner worked, the TV showed, the refrigerator cooled, the shower poured, there are no complaints. Cleaned every day, good quality. The staff is moderately polite, not intrusive (they did not beg for a tip). The deposit left $ 100 in dollars and returned (I always leave at least a hundred for duty free). Meals only breakfast. Every day there was rice (fried and boiled), meat with vegetables, soup, scrambled eggs, toast, sausages, jam, watermelon and pineapple.
In general, about the number I can not say anything good, and bad too. Perfect for an overnight stay, nothing more. The food is delicious for breakfast.
2. Territory, beach and location.
By the standards of Thailand, a huge territory (in Egypt there are giant hotels 5 times more).
The market on the territory of the hotel pleased with the prices (we went to Pattaya to the night market, the prices are the same, except that the range is slightly wider).
A river runs through the hotel. The river is fenced and concreted, flowers and other plants grow in it. Monitor lizards (1.5-2 meters in length) are also found in it.
The beach is large, but it seemed to me not quite thought out. Yes, and sunbeds are clearly a butt, if you don’t take it in the morning, you can be left without sunbeds (but by 11 o’clock people begin to disperse and free sunbeds appear). To the left and right of the beach are cafes and massage parlors. Shrimp vendors also walk along the beach. For pool lovers, one of the pools is right on the beach. There is a playground (designed for kids up to 5 years old). In beach restaurants at the hotel, I have never had a meal, because prices are two to three times higher than outside the hotel.
Outside the hotel there is a whole block of cafes (barbecue 50 baht, rolls 10 baht each, shark from 250 to 350 depending on the size of the soup from 40 to 100 baht). The average check per person is 150-300 baht. There are also plenty of mobile barbecue and pancake shops (meatball skewers 10 baht, pancake with mango or banana 40 baht). There is a mini market right across the road, there are three more mini markets to the left of the hotel, two on the side of the hotel, one across the road the prices are the same. During the day, it is better to cross the road at the crossing one hundred meters to the left of the hotel, and in the evening the police arrive and help tourists to cross the road right at the exit of the hotel. There are plenty of tuk-tuks and taxis to get to the center. A taxi to Volkin Street costs 300 baht. Get to the "tesco lotus" (hyper-market with a good selection of clothes at reasonable prices) there is also the so-called night market.
In general, the territory is decent and well-groomed and this is a huge plus of the hotel. The beach is also decent, there were not enough sunbeds
The location is suitable for family tourists for a more relaxed and measured holiday. If you want to go on a spree, it is better to choose a hotel in the center of Pattaya. I also give a plus for the location.
P. S.
The hotel is fully consistent with the declared value no more and no less. If I happen to go to Pattaya again, I will choose it myself. If you want more comfort in the room and a more varied breakfast, choose in the same complex "Ocean Wing" there and there are balconies and the room is bright with carpets on the floor. But the price tag is correspondingly higher. We had a choice to go for ten days in the "Ocean Wing" or sixteen in the "Inn Wing" chose the second option and never regretted it.
P. S. S.
If you have any questions about the hotel, you can ask in person. https://vk. com/id11410998
