Don't be afraid of anything.
I have yet to see a safer and friendlier country than Israel. Avoid only visiting Muslim neighborhoods in the evening and behave with caution in the Palestinian Authority.
In Israel itself, especially in Jerusalem, there are friendly and helpful people, and the streets are exceptionally safe at any time. There can be no unrest there, and the army of this small state is one of the most combat-ready and powerful in the world.
