Petrinos Apartments
All exhausted! This hotel was recommended! At least some average information! Where can I rent a car nearby? Is it possible to cook food in the room? Are breakfasts really that bad?

And by what criteria were you selected? Maybe it's just cheaper for example? and so, there are many wonderful hotels in Rethymnon ...

Car rentals are everywhere. It's cheaper to do it from here, on the Internet. But I do not recommend these apartments specifically - read my review. Yes, you can cook food in the room. The breakfast is really non-existent.
Good luck!

A VERY lovely hotel. On the beach, the sea is 20 meters away. There is a stove in the room so you can cook. Breakfast, nafig they did not give up at all. You will have lunch in the tavern during the day. Everything is better. And in the evening, fresh fish in the room to cook.
I can send pictures, although on my page you can see http://foto.mail.ru/mail/altaibroker/2

I reviewed the entire Internet, there are very few photos of the hotel and the same everywhere ... There are also very few reviews ... I would like to know in more detail what we should expect there.

if there are few reviews, then there are few, you will have to check on your own experience.

Well, in general, here you have to choose according to the principle of what you are going to do in Crete. If the hotel is only needed to spend the night, then you can not give a damn about the above disadvantages. Then you can cook breakfast yourself, and you don’t need lighting in the pool, and in principle, you don’t give a damn about all sorts of inconveniences like a non-working toilet bowl (well, I’m exaggerating a little, yeah). If you are going to visit it during the day, then keep in mind that there is no beach there either, you have to go to the neighboring apartments, the owner of which does not like it very much when tourists are not wandering around his territory. You won't be able to swim opposite Petrinos.

Do not forget about the windows overlooking the sea. Fall asleep to the sound of the surf.

Were in the 2nd half of September 2010. If you have already taken a tour, do not regret it, go with a light heart, everything will be fine. Very quiet, calm. The beach is very close. If there is no wave, then you don’t have to go through the neighboring hotel - you can walk to the excellent sandy shore along the wall (on pebbles) - 40 meters. Fumitoks or other mosquito repellents are a must (forget it - buy it on the spot). If possible - take a room on the 2nd floor, above the bar (reception) - from the rooms there is access to a huge balcony-terrace, sea view. And of course, you need to take a car and drive, drive .. Crete is beautiful.
I'll try to post a photo.

Yes, we already took a tour to this hotel, booked a car and even printed out a huge map of Crete. )))
How else would you get a room on the 2nd floor? )))

Well, you should probably ask. I failed - it was busy. We lived on the 1st floor, studio, in a small building to the left of the main one, when viewed from the sea. Yes, and also not bad - the sea is also close and clearly visible. You can win over the hostess (such a large, middle-aged woman, greets everyone in 3-4 languages, but she doesn’t know Russian, except for “hello”. You can win over the hostess by being interested in the portrait of a respectable man on the back wall in the hall - this is her late husband , a Greek who returned rich from America. He talks about him with sadness and pride (you need a little English). Universal advice (if you are the first time in Greece) - 3-4 words in Greek: KALIMERA - good morning, KALISPER - good evening, EFHARISTO - thank you, YASSAS - "hello", "greetings".
Since the hotel is very small, there are few people - you can quickly get to know each other (most were from Russia), share, consult - who, where, where have you already gone, what to see, where it is better to have lunch or dinner, etc.
Photos are here, in my album in my account, open, look. Have a good rest. Once again: expensive hotels are not needed in Crete, you need to move around, look, be interested, admire the island, the sea, etc.
