I was 5 years ago. I'm going back in December.
I wrote several stories about Fukuoka on Turpravda
https://www.turpravda.ua/vn/o_fukok/blog-159490.html

There are few excursions there: there are to the southern islands, I haven’t been, they still take them to prison and to pepper plantations, I’m also interested in her.
I went to Vinperland on a free bus and to Bai Sao by taxi.
Now a safari has been added there and a cable car to Pineapple Island. The island has a beach and water park.
I won’t tell you about the hotels, but I was only in one, on the second line. Then I liked him. Now it seems expensive to me ($90 per day). I chose a non-beach hotel for the next trip, for $ 23 per day.

I was in April 2017, in general, I liked it. The hotels are very good, but there were also many wastelands along the coastline where construction was just beginning or planned. In general, when compared with Turkey, there is little movement, but this is already a matter of taste.
They didn’t take any excursions, they themselves drove by taxi to a pearl farm, a pepper plantation, to the Coconut Prison (I was impressed, by the way). But no, there was one excursion - to the southern islands with fishing and snorkeling. In general, not bad, only the Chinese were very sick all the way, this is a minus.

advanced women. Respect. How do you like the sea there? Transparent, clean ... like ebbs? Write a couple of lines about it..

If you follow the link I left above, you will learn a lot about Fukuoka, including the beaches)
No leaks were observed. I was in December. Plankton biting in the water. a little)
The color of the water is ordinary, not turquoise as usual on the Thai islands.
Bai Sao Beach is very beautiful, with white sand, but far from civilization. And it is this beach that is very polluted, probably because in winter garbage is taken out of the sea to the east coast.
The main beach of Long Beach is very long, with yellow sand, with mostly free sunbeds (information from 2015, maybe not already)
In one place, roughly opposite the museum, there are some beautiful stones. And a very good beach cafe. Bai Sao has very beautiful sunsets. Simply fabulous

Thank you all for your feedback, I really appreciate it. Perhaps I will be useful to someone with useful information about the island and its entertainment) I have been living and working on the island since 2018) I will be glad to make new acquaintances and help to get to know the island closer and of course I invite everyone to visit the wonderful island of Phu Quoc

I also had plankton in Fukuoka in April. But the southern islands had no plankton, and the water was bright turquoise, just a buzz!

By the way, I read about another Vietnamese island, Cao Dai. It's like Fukuoka, but even more relaxed. I plan to visit northern Vietnam someday, and for dessert, Khao Dai.

Go to the southern islands, even if the Chinese are sick?)
I will have 4 days in Fukuoka. Not much. Husband wants to go to Vinperland, I want to go on a cable car. There are two days left at sea. Should one of these days be given to the southern islands?
Can you rent snorkels there? I don't want to carry this stuff around the north and center.

Masks and snorkels are included in the price of the tour, they are issued on the boat. Otherwise, there is nothing remarkable in these islands, we went only because of the plankton, they promised us that there was no plankton to the south, and they did not deceive us. We bought our fill in the sea.
How lucky with the Chinese. I have had bad luck with them twice already: in Vietnam and in Brunei, they were terribly sick on catamarans.

Thanks! Understood. Go if you get bored on the beach.

Dear ladies, thanks for the information and the direction "where to dream", let's hope for a "come true" :)
(I never understood why the Chinese come to the beach and climb into the sea - on the shore in rags from nose to toe and in boats with seasickness!)

Vera, I don’t know if I should dream there. Borneo is three times more interesting!

I would like to talk about plankton. The safest and most inexpensive area is OnLang Beach, there is almost no plankton here throughout the year. But on Long Beach, which is the longest beach with plankton, things are completely different (unfortunately, guests are most often bitten on this beach. It is brought by a warm current to the shores. In the bay where Viprerl hotels were also almost never seen, the islands are a separate issue there plankton, in principle, never existed. If you have any questions, write with pleasure I will answer
