You won't find them there for sure! We have been hiking for years - all our friends go hiking, including remote Carpathian places (Chivchiny, Grinyavy, Marmarosy) and so on - no one has ever met wolves or bears. Although on youtube I saw a video of tourists who met a bear cub. More like ticks, snakes. Well, there are copperheads in the Carpathians, also not very often.

We met a fox, salamanders at certain times of the year (September), in some places there are a lot of snakes, including poisonous ones. So it is advisable not to go into the forest in flip flops :)
