We are going with a larger company of 11 people to the Carpathians (Zhytomyr)
We want to make an ascent to Hoverla (but not essential) and spend the night there in tents. I am also interested in whether it is possible to rent equipment in the form of tents, sleeping bags .. and other things necessary for the trip. The trip will last approximately 2-3 days. And then you have to stop somewhere else for the night .. Please tell me where to go and where to stay .. even if it’s an economy option .. Students!

It is best for you to live on "Zaroslyak", this is a sports base right at the foot of Hoverla. Base coordinates: http://www.zaroslyak.com/ua/
Useful links:

Be sure to take the contacts of rescuers with you to the mountains.
Good luck!

Here is another option (cheaper) if you go not to Hoverla, but simply to the mountains:

And when do you want?

If you spend the night in the mountains, then you need to stomp from Zaroslyak through Lake Nesamovytoe, Mount Turkul to Hoverla with a descent into the same Zaroslyak. The easiest and best route with an overnight stay. You can spend the second night in Zaroslyak at the sports base, as suggested above, but it will turn out to be a bit expensive. Or arrange in the private sector in the villages on the way back. Anyway, from / to Zaroslyak, someone will bring you (there is no public transport there).

and if all the time in the mountains, without a hotel?

I will add that 1) in any settlement (Yaremche, Vorokhta, etc.) you can buy maps of the Carpathians with climbing routes and their detailed description, places of possible halts and overnight stays are also indicated there; 2) from "Zaroslyak" the routes are marked with marks on the trees. That is, you just walk through the forest and look for colored marks on the trees.
But anyway, in my opinion, it is more reasonable to carry out the first mountain trips with a local guide, and be sure to have rescue service contacts and charged mobile phones with you (which you pay little attention to below, but in the mountains it can be of great importance, unforeseen situations can be you like it, and exactly where you least expect a catch). Another advice for the whole company is to pay attention to physical activity on the eve of the trip. Because stomping with a 50-kilogram backpack on your back even for 2-3 hours (not to mention 6-8 hours) is far from easy. Young ladies especially :).

staruha_izergil, you exaggerate something ;-)
No one wears 50kg backpacks at all, for a week-long hike on simple summer routes of 15-20kg. Did you mean 50 liters? For the rest, I agree. But only because AlexArt1 seems to be quite new... Yes, no?
If you want 2 nights, then you better choose a route from the unfinished Kozmeshchik base (from the village of Lazenshchina 6 km, this distance is better to drive a truck, it’s just boring), radially to Petros without clothes, spending the night near Petros near the huts (shepherd’s houses), the next day along Chernogora through Hoverla reach Turkul, fall on the lake Nesamovyte, spend the night there and go down. Overnight stays are standard, there are springs, there are not many things to carry in principle. But a guide is needed if there is no experience. The group is not small, you need a leader who knows the route. Not a local vuiko, but find someone on Karpatykomua, or a Globuskpi tourist club. Maybe there are experienced tourists in Zhytomyr, many of them drive for a little money. You can also buy a tour, there are firms, they give all the equipment. Don't go if you don't have experience

You can do everything from the same Zaroslyak to make 2 overnight stays on Lake Nesamovytom: on the first day, come to Zaroslyak, from Zaroslyak walk to the lake (3 hours) spend the night, and on the 2nd day hang out there, run away without things to Rebra (and since you already so almost on the ridge, it’s not even a climb), there is another mountain nearby Gutin-Tomnatik, 2 thousand meters high, and under it is another mountain lake Brebeneskul. There is the most beautiful view on the entire ridge! Spend the night and on the 3rd day in the morning along the ridge to Hoverla, there are also a few hours before it. Go down to Zaroslyak. This is the most optimal route, since the start / finish is in one and convenient place for all kinds of buses, you can also agree in advance so that one of the rescuers will be your guide (on an Internet, for money). I don’t like the 1-day climb to Hoverla from Zaroslyak, since although it is the fastest, it is not the most beautiful and inconvenient. And more difficult than the two that I described. The ratio is not very, IMHO)
You yourself will not orient yourself by the pebbles, as you wrote above. Most of the routes are poorly marked, it's just that there are standard simple routes, many go and everyone is oriented without marking. In good weather, yes

And I advise you at the end to take tickets for the latest train, maybe a night one, but after the trip, find money and time for a sauna ;-)

From it yes! That's who a professional tourist! Stunned! Apparently, you, hatinka, have conquered the Carpathian peaks more than once. I never tire of admiring.
And yes, I meant a 50 liter backpack.

Thank you) Well, I don't go anymore. Years 6. So, it happens, we will advance, but this is not the same. Now I know more and more myself, not in the Carpathians, but by car ...
But this year, at least on Sysadmin Day, I’ll drive the whole office into the mountains in FIG)

If anything, then here is a list of rescuers, you can negotiate directly with them. I know for sure that Vasily Kobylyuk carries groups, there is transport, etc. Heard a lot of good things about him. You can look on Google about Sergey Kopansky from Lvov, I don’t know if he leads groups now, but he used to lead a lot and actively and the formats are completely different. At least he definitely has experienced guides among his acquaintances, he can recommend it. Yes, and there will be equipment for everyone) Link to spas http://www.karpaty.com.ua/?chapter=12&item=327
This site has a forum for hikers, you can rustle there, but private traders may not have so much equipment.
