This is not the first time I have started talking about Lviv. But every time I stop myself, because when I read other authors, I doubt whether I will be able to look at this favorite city in a new way. But the last (or rather, extreme? : ) trip convinced me that there is not much Lviv. Accordingly, there can be many views on him and stories about him.

For me, a trip to Lviv is always a holiday. Even just when you start to soak in one place - you urgently need to go there. I pampered myself like that at a time when there was no passport : ). Went to Lviv - and remembered the bag. Always. And extremely pleasant.

This time I went there with my brother and his family. I am a Bender from Zhytomyr Region. And he - almost «ATOshnik» from Nikolaev.

In any case, the cashier at our railway station when I learned that tickets for visitors from Nikolaev, very sympathetically began to ask: «Well how there at them? ».

And the people of Lviv immediately made a discount on all souvenirs: ).

But about everything, as they say, in order.

Immediately ABOUT MONEY AND "TAKE IT AWAY". At the time of travel, the hryvnia exchange rate against the Russian ruble was 1:3, the hryvnia exchange rate against the dollar was 12:1, and the hryvnia exchange rate against the euro was 16:1. It started with the Russian currency, because this time (however, as always) the city was full of people who speak with a characteristic accent. They laughed, drank coffee, ate pretzels, launched Chinese lanterns into the night sky, and dressed UPA clothes in Kryivka. And it was obvious that they were GOOD here. Because more Russians will come to Lviv, more people will learn that even now Russians do not eat here, despite the fact that the city has a monument to Stepan Bandera and the street of the same name, as well as Dzhokhar Dudayev Street.

Our locomotive arrived at the Lviv railway station at 5.30 am.

Handed over things in the storage room (manual - 15 UAH / seat, automatic - 20 UAH / cell), mistakenly cleaned (in the toilet on the second floor of the train station you can even take a shower for 20 UAH. ), And on foot on the street. Gorodotsky was sent to the center. On the way we admired the church of St. Olga and Elizabeth (got to it the next day). And past the Opera House, near which the ballerinas froze in elegant pa (see photo) came to the square. market. How great it turns out, it looks like an early summer morning! Almost no one (photo attached, and there is an evening photo - you can compare).

IMPORTANTLY. In the Market Square just behind the statue of Neptune in the Town Hall there is an information and tourist center. There you will be given a map of the city with the sights marked on it absolutely free of charge, they will tell you in detail how and where to go. Very nice girls-boys - volunteers.

I already have a collection of such cards, but every time I safely forget their houses. In my opinion, the paper card is much more convenient and familiar than the various new-fangled things there. Although before the trip illusia kindly provided me with a link to the Lina-Lviv guide program - http:// play. google. com / store / apps / details? id = com. lvivplaces. Very good thing, you just need to download it in advance, and you need a GPS module in your smartphone / tablet.

According to the previously approved plan, we immediately go to "Kryivka" (14 Rynok Square), it works well around the clock, and the people were no longer against drinking coffee and swallowing something more important. Here you need to reveal 3 secrets at once.

The first secret.

The entrance to the building is located in the arched courtyard between houses № 13 and 15, the room number 14 can be seen on the facade very uncertainly.

In the same courtyard, to the right of the stairs, the entrance to the restaurant "The most expensive restaurant in Galicia" (the most expensive restaurant in Galicia), another name - "Masonic Lodge", it is also interesting, by the way, , much lower. Here, too, "works" map Local, about it below). The entrance to Kryivka is not marked, the landmark is a wooden door with a hearing window to the left of the stairs. Keep in mind that the entrance is equipped with a video camera inside, and your surprised and confused facial expressions, while you understand whether you need to come here or still need to, delight visitors and staff.

The secret is different.

IMPORTANTLY. Tourist map Local. The card is willingly and free of charge issued to ALL guests of the city: Spaniards, African Americans, Ukrainians, Russians and other Swedes (c). That is, no oppression on national grounds. Because the most tolerant people in the world live in Lviv!

Having issued it, you also receive a map of the city with addresses and a brief description of important and significant places in Lviv, a schedule of extraordinary sightseeing tours and much more. Accumulative card - for every 10 UAH spent. in partner institutions (Kryivka, Gas Lamp Pub, and Lviv Coffee Mine) you get 100 bonuses. And you, in turn, can spend them later on the purchase of souvenirs and others. I designed my own at Kopalna Kava, and it opens later than, for example, the souvenir shop at Kryivka. So if you go somewhere to eat from an early train, you will have to do without a ticket, unfortunately. But all the same it will catch up later - in Lviv very "appetizing" air, Sq. The market just smells like coffee and cinnamon. Accordingly, you will have a snack, tea, coffee many times. And I'm already silent about Lviv toys (and the card is also valid for their purchase).

The third secret

There is a souvenir shop at Kryivka. But unlike the restaurant, it is open from 10.00. Some souvenirs (for example, a T-shirt with the inscription "Balalaika - 3 strings. Bandura - . 67. Questions ?! ") or the menu "Hides" or "Bender" cap are sold only here. Others (Bandera coffee) are available elsewhere. .

Well, about Kryivka. We close the door. Closed. No, they open it for us. The gloomy young man (hereinafter referred to as HM) immediately asks (remark for Russians - does not torture, but asks : ): “What do you want? ». We are timidly "Eat and drink". HM as it should be: “Are there any Muscovites among you? ”. I immediately "hand over" relatives: "Not at all. But here they are from Nikolaev ". HM: “Well, that's it, that's it. Do you know the slogan? ”. Mi: "Well, how. Glory to Ukraine! ”. HM: “Glory to the heroes! Well, come on in. ”

We enter. We are immediately offered to walk, look back, because there are several halls.

There are not many people, but there are frankly Russian-speaking and Moscow-style "hot" (excuse me Muscovites, but there is a stereotype). We sit down, our waiter Mariana (! ) Brings us the menu. Ordered for potatoes with sponder and sour cream for the guys, we have one for two frying pan with something there (I do not remember, I'm sorry I did not buy in memory of the menu - is in a gift shop 45 UAH. ), A glass of mead (on herbs, but it was warm, though easy to drink) and herbal tea. Delicious, fast. The food seems to be prepared on firewood - everything smelled very appetizing smoke. Well, after reinforcing, we inspected the "guts" of the institution. Photographed and photographed to the "bunnies" in the eyes. In total, I spent 3 (! ) Hours there. In my opinion, there is nothing like that there.

This is really an "attraction", as they say in Lviv, and if you perceive this whole entourage in this way - it is positive, interesting and interesting. But this is my humble opinion : ).

Mykolayiv residents were delighted, and first of all they told their parents and friends about Kryivka choking on the phone.

Next we go to the Town Hall. Here is democracy in action for you at once: in order to reach the observation deck of the Town Hall, you need to walk through "powerful" corridors. At the same time, municipal employees work for themselves as if nothing had happened, doors are open in many offices, some issues are resolved in the corridors, for example, a gray-haired gentleman very politely tried to get some money from a respectable lady (chief accountant or financial worker). And she politely explained to him that without a visa, such a gentleman has nothing to hope for : ).

And you manage to catch a glimpse of a dozen such cute situations while walking through the floors of the city hall. But you can already see the metal doors, which actually begins the rise in the town hall tower.

It is a pity that so far the panorama that opens from the observation deck of the Town Hall has passed me by. It's just something incredible, stunningly beautiful and wonderfully amazing. You can see EVERYTHING you wanted to see in Lviv. Plus the tower with bells is pasted with banners with the exact indication of certain sights, which can be seen from this side of the Town Hall. The entrance ticket costs 10 hryvnias, you can climb from 9.00 to 17.00.

IMPORTANTLY. At 12.00 a trumpet player plays on the tower every day (as in many European cities). Unfortunately, we missed this moment.

After the Town Hall, it was decided that it was time to think about housing. Called the owner of the apartment (the day before as a reservation sent to his mobile phone 50 UAH. , The remaining 300 paid on the spot).

We walked to Lychakivsk, took the keys, went to the station for things. Settled, had lunch, cleaned and washed. They lay down for half an hour and set off again.

On that day, an announcement was made in the city center that a mass launch of Chinese lanterns would take place near the Shevchenko monument. Mine, of course, decided that we should look at it. But since there was still a lot of time until 22.00 (for which the action was planned), we decided to walk around the local cathedrals, churches and churches. I would gladly run to the Pinzel Museum (and he was right under our noses, next to the house where we lived). But my guests preferred to just leisurely walk-see-go-go-go through the streets and temples. Unfortunately, there was no mass launch that day, and after eating unsalted bread, they returned home and went to bed.

Now a little digression about this and other important moments of independent travel in Lviv.

ABOUT housing

Options are immoderate.

I used to always stay in the suburbs, in Bryukhovychi. Because they came by car. From there, a direct 10-minute drive from the Opera House. By minibus - about 20 minutes.

This time, in order not to waste time on the road, and because they were "horseless", they decided to rent an apartment. The search took noon. In high season, interesting places (such as an apartment-museum) are reserved for a long time. In principle, in a hostel in the heart of the city you can live for 80-100 UAH / s people. We rented a studio apartment for UAH 350. / day (I already wrote about it above) for four on the street. Lychakivska (on foot to Svobody Avenue 800 m). Double bed and wardrobe in the room, in the kitchen hall double sofa and kitchenette, plasma. Shower cabin. Plumbing new, double-circuit boiler. The water is uninterrupted. The house is old, but with a very good fresh renovation.

I felt that when I was looking for housing (and the trip was spontaneous, so the housing options were tight, it is difficult in high season to find something decent, inexpensive, in the center and tomorrow), so that's where I will not call (looking for dobovo and more on some sites, I will not remember) - everywhere, unfortunately, everything is busy.

But EVERYONE said: "Wait, now I'll call back to my friend Roman (or Orestes, or Marty : )), we'll definitely find you something. " It is clear that they live from this, but somehow they wanted to help so sincerely, not even for money, but simply in a human way. And this is such a characteristic feature of Lviv residents that I have noted many times in different situations.

ABOUT PUBLIC TRANSPORT

We only used the tram. Fare costs UAH 2. If you have a student ticket - a discount of UAH 1. Trams №№ 2.9, 10 run from the train station to the center. Walk the ring, ie the route from the station to the center is different from the route from the center to the station.

There is another high-speed tram on route №9 (it is the only one for the whole of Lviv). A trip on it can be an alternative to sightseeing. Well, it is very nice to see the city through the panoramic windows to the music of Vivaldi in the air-conditioned salon.

TTX: tram five-section, six-axle, one-way, with a low article. It is made in Lviv jointly by Ukrainians and Germans. Can reach speeds of up to 80 km / h in 22 seconds. That's right from!

ABOUT PRICES IN GENERAL

Prices in ordinary cafes are very reasonable. The four of us had breakfast with alcohol in "Kryivka" for 220 hryvnias, drank tea with strudels and cheesecakes (cheesecake is such a Lviv pie, ie cake) in the "First City Bakery of Cheesecakes and Strudels" (aka "Lviv Pies")) for 160 грн. , had lunch with beer in "El Greco" in front of the Latin Department for 180 UAH "Earlier" trips often had lunch in a cafe between the Historical Museum and the Theater of Maria Zankovetskaya.

But my favorite catering is the IMF (I wrote about it earlier here: http:// blogs. Turpravda. Ua / staruha_izergil / 94877.html). Food and service in "Kryivka" - great, in the "Bakery of cheese and strudel" - for "four", "El Greco" - food for "four", service - a weak "three".

Or in one day to the Carpathians (Tustan fortress, waterfall on the river Kamyanka, Dead (Crane) lake) - from 9.00 to 18.00 for 250 UAH. If they knew about such options in advance, they would probably plan something for themselves. But, unfortunately, this time it didn't work out : (

Well, now about our future time in Lviv. The next day it turned out that the legs of the visiting tourists from yesterday hurt so much that they simply do not have the strength to move. So for now we got up, scratched, had breakfast, handed over the keys, took things to the station to the storage room ...However, while they did all this, they got tired again, and the people said a resounding "No" to my busy excursion program.

With the words "Rider, do not chase horses" decided to just walk.

We ate ice cream and drank beer, watched the measurements of the statue of Neptune to sew him a new embroidered shirt for Independence Day, listened to a completely rattlesnake-looking guy, in an orange beret and round glasses, playing the flute "Chornobrivtsi sowed" bought, as usual, souvenirs, souvenirs. We went to the monument to S. Bandera, and found there a wonderful picture: in the garden near the monument on benches sitting with his kids intelligent-looking only dad. Someone is reading a book, someone is collecting a Rubik's cube. Children also do not sleep: who blows soap bubbles, who rides on a tricycle. In short, the weekend is full of reciprocity. And near the monument - sold out (I'm not lying) girls and boys aged 15-16 who want to be photographed with him.

Tell me, do you have a photo of you young / young with a monument, well, I don't know, Lenin? !!

And they take pictures of themselves, the girls - in "model" poses. Well, I do not know, maybe such a local tradition, as they say, fortunately, fortunately: ).

Even before the meeting with the monument, she led the whole company to admire the Church of St. Olga and Elizabeth. Because she still wasn't inside. Impressed everyone. I am afraid that the photos will not fully convey the full scale, restrained severity, grandeur and beauty.

The evening was spent on the square. The market and the surrounding streets (my "tourists" stubbornly did not want to go anywhere else). We went to the Museum of Magnets, looked, bought (7-10-15-25 UAH). The museum was somehow not very impressed.

Much more revived was the figure of Sacher-Masoch Leopold von standing next to him (just next door - the entrance to the "Masoch Cafe").

Well, when I uttered the "true sign" that if you make a wish, put your hand in the pocket of his pants, and rub what is there, um, there is - then you will be happy, and huge (sorry for the ambiguity of the phrase) ...The full house was full, and even completely foreign tourists, with the words: "And what are you doing here? ”(C) listened to the comments of my relatives with such happy people, and also enthusiastically set to work.

It is quite natural in Lviv to buy Lviv "chocolates" and coffee in the "Lviv Chocolate Workshop" and caramels in the "Caramel Workshop". The last one is just a stunning showcase, if you are with children, be sure to take them there. And inside you can see how these same caramels do. I'm not a fan of sweets at all, but in Lviv I'm just becoming a chocolate-caramel maniac (I'll keep quiet about beer and coffee mania)!

Prices are reasonable: ordinary chocolate bar - 15 UAH. , various handicrafts from 1-2 UAH.

(for example, little bears or a small square chocolate bar with views of Lviv) to chocolate sets for 60-80-100 UAH. A packet of the most delicious caramels with smileys - UAH 25. Ground coffee (ground coffee) has become a little more expensive, now it costs 50-60 hryvnias. (It was 30-40 in the fall).

We went to the "House of Legends". And they came to him almost by accident, but it turned out that it was not in vain. The Museum of Magnets, word for word, talked to the sellers, and my complaints that, say, a hundred thousand times was in Lviv, and I do not have photos of the chimney sweep, were instructed in detail how to get there. For the uninitiated: on the roof of the old building-restaurant "House of Legends" is a monument to the chimney sweep.

The cylinder in the hand near the chimney sweep is empty and without a top; a few meters from him there is a pipe, into which the contender climbs the stairs, having previously made a secret wish, and throws a coin inside the cylinder.

If the coin hits the cylinder, the wish will come true. The coin falls through a hole in the hat into the gutter attached below and slides into the treasure chest. A coin that did not hit the cylinder falls on the terrace of the restaurant. Visitors are warned in advance about the possible precipitation and even issued umbrellas: ).

When we found the right street and house, there was already a lot of people. Feel free to ask who is extreme, and what they give: ). It turned out that everyone was waiting for the dragon on the facade of the building to erupt in flames. Usually it happens to him at 9.20 pm Ukrainian time, or at the special time of the House of Legends - at 9 pm.

In one direction, in the other (immediately from the crowd the remark "We pass for travel! ", General laughter : )) And in a short moment - bah, women's collective cry of "Ah! ”And from the mouth it is the same - a flame, but not like a fire in a furnace, but like fireworks. Quick, a little scary, and then funny.

Well, everyone is happy standing, applauding, some shouting “Bravo! Bis! ”. Everyone laughs again. And at this time my brother comes back to me and says: "You will not be photographed with a chimney sweep today. " And I still do not understand all his ruthless rightness. But out of the corner of my eye I notice how the whole crowd enters the entrance in unison and is clearly going to storm the roof. I understand, unfortunately, that yes, it does not shine for me today… But I promise myself that next time it is necessary.

We are happy to go to Svobody Avenue to the monument to Kobzar (this day there was a mass launch of lanterns, but not as a flash mob, but just individual launches).

but en masse, I think the man was exactly when we came), buy a big Chinese flashlight and launch it into the night Lviv sky (I'm desperately afraid that something will catch fire). The lantern, like a rocket, soars up and flies in an unknown direction. That's always the case, every holiday ends sooner or later.

ABOUT WHAT TO LOOK AT. THE MARKET AND VERY NEXT TO IT (well, this is my minimum program, I think everyone who has been to Lviv has it). Some key objects are already clear from the text. But if in order, then:

+ Town Hall and observation deck

+ "Kryivka" (14 Rynok Square) - even if you are not an amateur or a fan - I recommend, it will be interesting anyway

+ Pharmacy-museum (Drukarska Street, 2)

+ Black townhouse (Rynok Square, 4)

+ Kornyakta Town Hall and Italian Courtyard (Rynok Square, 6)

+ Coffee Mine (10 Market Square). We go to Kopalna because in addition to coffee there are also "Lviv toys". Standing with your back to the Mine, you see to your right

+ Summer cafe "Diana on the Market" (behind one of the 4 statues on the Market Square) - there in the evenings very cool young people dancing salsa

+ “Lviv Plyatsky (First City Bakery of Cheesecakes and Strudels)” (Rynok Square, 13) - we go in, drink tea / coffee, eat cheesecake (don't forget about watering! ) - landmark - a huge swing for the test above the entrance.

Next we reach the corner to our left

+ Boim Chapel (note the size of the chapel on the outside, and the dome that goes up when you look at it from the inside. The difference is guaranteed). Let us not forget the statue of Christ sitting above. Address: Sq. Cathedral, 1. Near and

+ Latin Cathedral (Cathedral Square, 1)

+ The Armenian Church and its courtyard, which houses the remains of an Armenian cemetery (some slabs under your feet are over 600 years old) and the most beautiful wooden chapel (7/13 Armenian Street)

+ House of the Seasons (intersection of Virmenska and Drukarska streets)

+ pub "Kerosene Lamp" (st.

Armenian, 20) - you can eat and drink, you can just take a couple of photos, sitting at a table with the inventor of the kerosene lamp

+ photo in the statue of Sacher Masoch (and a hand in the pocket of his pants for good luck) (Serbian Street, 7)

+ Shop-museum of magnets (street Serbian, 9)

+ House of Legends (48 Staroyevreiska Street)

+ Lviv Opera House (it has a mirror hall, but to get there - you need a ticket to the performance). Address: 28 Svobody Ave.

+ souvenir-embroidery-antique market "Vernissage" (I know how to walk with my feet, but I can't describe it. But you can ask the locals - everyone will show, it's right next to the Maria Zankovetskaya Theater)

+ Aresanal Weapons Museum (5 Pidvalna Street)

+ St. George's Cathedral (5 St. George's Square)

+ Church of St. Olga and Elizabeth (also called the Church of St. Elizabeth) and observation deck (Kropyvnytskoho Square, 1)

+ House of Scientists (6 November Street)

The list goes on and on: )

At one time I really liked the tour on the "Miracle Train".

They run from the Town Hall about once an hour. It costs 50 hryvnias. There is an audio guide in 6 languages. "Miracle Train" did not rise in price - specifically clarified, the price remained unchanged.

IMPORTANT: Do not throw away tickets at the end of the trip.

They feature an advertisement for the Magnet Store Museum. And the bearer - a 10% discount. If you buy a few pieces there - it may matter : )

FROM WHERE I HAVE NOT BEEN YET, BUT WHERE I DREAM OF WASTING:

Brewing Museum

Museum of Glass

High Castle

Shevchenkivsky grove (open-air museum)

House with a crossword puzzle

Coffee mine (go down to the mine)

And this list can go on: )

Unproven - in the pictures : )
