Lviv flavor
For the first time I was in Lviv, Yaremche after the 8th grade. Childhood impressions are forgotten over time. Several times there was a desire to refresh them, but other routes took me away with their attractiveness for a long time.
And this autumn, having visited the idea again, to visit the west of Ukraine, she put on the idea to go with a pleasant fellow traveler to Lviv. Tickets were taken two weeks in advance, so we got the upper shelves, but it was warm and comfortable on the train, under the measured noise of the cars, we got from the south of Ukraine to the noisy city of Lviv in a day. I recommend booking an apartment or a hostel in advance even in the low season. Lviv is full of tourists, you run the risk of being homeless or staying in expensive hotels (if this is not included in your plans). We were lucky, we were given a business card at the station and we settled in a comfortable and acceptable at the cost of a place (350gr for two per day). And on the same day we began our exploration of the city on foot, because in the evening we were waiting for a performance at the Maria Zinkovetskaya Theater (tickets were booked in advance at home, I also advise you to print electronic tickets at home, otherwise you will have to wander in search of printouts from a flash drive, not everywhere there is such a service ).
From the railway station, you can walk right up to the theater, or you can take a minibus, tram, or trolleybus. We were kindly advised how and on what to drive up or where to turn off (No need to be afraid if you speak poor Ukrainian, they will prompt you and show you with a smile and joy when you hear Russian speech or surzhik) We liked the Lviv dialect so much, melodic and very colorful that I wanted to speak the same way and literally on the same day they began to reorganize into Ukrainian speech
. All three days we walked a lot along the streets of old Lviv, with its amazing architecture, where every building attracts attention. On the second day, we went out of town to Shevchenko Hay
and the Lychakiv cemetery, an open-air reserve-museum and despite the drizzle it was interesting to see the life of different regions of western Ukraine, try bread straight from the oven, listen to the history of the high roofs of rural houses.
And again walks, now we have gone to the center of Lviv on an electric car from Rynok Square (75 UAH) it was very nice to just sit and look out the window, resting after hiking (tune in to the fact that there will be more walking if you want a lot see) And in the excursion trailers to the story that sounds from the speakers (by the way, in different languages, if you don’t understand Russian or Ukrainian, you will be given headphones and you will listen to the tour in English or other), you can ride for 50 minutes and relax before further research of interesting places in Lviv. I remember the Chocolate Workshop with interesting handmade figurines (from 30 UAH)
and The place where Lviv coffee is born is a dungeon, where we were given a helmet, like miners, and we began to descend in the dark through an incomprehensible labyrinth. Then they rejoiced when they got back, not understanding the humor, seeing a wall with the so-called Lion coffee beans, but appreciating this colorful place and bestowing a smile, seeing a lot of tubes of coffee with cool names, T-shirts with UPA symbols, in general, an entertaining place (visit you can do it yourself)
I would like to separately mention the High Castle, the highest point of Lviv, a hill with steps in a circle, we barely made it to the top, but the panorama that opened up is worth it to make these efforts (you can buy souvenirs, magnets, Lviv chocolate there at affordable prices)
And now the end of the evening is the operetta The Merry Widow at the Lviv Opera House. Tickets were booked in advance on the balconies (50 UAH), they were afraid that the balconies were side and we would not see anything. But the curtain that opened exceeded our expectations, the stage is clearly visible, but standing or sitting on the parapet (because if this option does not suit you, book seats in the hall (from 200-400 UAH) The acting is excellent, the singing is mesmerizing, the costumes delightfully convey the atmosphere of the action. The theater itself impresses with its architectural design. It is worth visiting this place not just with a tour of the theater, but choosing an opera, ballet or operetta to your taste.
Well, a few words about the kitchen. I really liked the mushroom soup in a cafe in Shevchenkomsky Hay, special thanks for the pundyks and konyky (sweet national products) We were surprised at the cost of vegetables and fruits at that time everything was half the price of the south of Ukraine.
A pleasant trip and new discoveries to those who want to see the magical city of Lviv after our story.
Park alleys breathe in autumn.
The leaves of the fallen carpet are more and more colorful.
The trees are dressed in purple and yellow.
Cooler nights, fresher dawns. .
How important it is to stop.
Immerse yourself in the transparent sky with a dream.
And notice the cirrus clouds running.
And autumn colors in shady alleys.
