A year ago I was passing through, in Kyiv half of them speak Russian or even more. Only the accent is like ours in the Kuban. Therefore, I can only judge the attitude by TurPravda, but here such battles sometimes happen))).

mdyaaya well what can I say ... come, there will be a surprise. And do not read Soviet newspapers (c)
For the "best city" schiro dyakuyu! it is also the most peaceful and hospitable city. And if you need help or advice, please contact me
PS. there will be battles if you come out with a St. George ribbon and slogans a la "Kyiv is Russia. Bandera to the wall." And then no one will arrest ... but you will hear a lot of new words
аватар ollennka
Yes, that's exactly what I was talking about. That's why I'm not in a hurry to go.
аватар klichko
well, if you are hatching plans for a state coup ... I don’t think that on the red one they will kiss me with a poster of PTN-PNH
аватар klichko
Belarusians came ... just passing from Moscow. We wanted to drop in for a day, stayed for 4 days ... I was tired of wiping enthusiastic drool with them
аватар ollennka
You can throw slippers at me, but in my opinion, it will be possible to talk about good relations when they answer such questions "come, of course" without additional conditions (ribbons, flags, etc.). And when there are no conditions on both sides.
аватар klichko
it is necessary to separate flies from cutlets .... and tourists from separatists
I leave the delusional dispute

Come, you will be welcome and will be kissed in the ass. Russians who, contrary to propaganda, come to us, we respect and have the most positive attitude. There are no problems.
If you are very afraid, we can agree on the 1st day (if it is a day off), I will join you for a couple of hours and take you around the Center until you get comfortable.
The absence of a Colorado ribbon is just a rule of decency, but when I come to Moscow, I don’t go for a walk with a Bandera ribbon on Red Square, and I don’t walk around Berlin with a swastika)))

Thank you very much for your answers, especially to you - kolyan_cat and klichko! Once again I am convinced that the most beautiful people live in the most beautiful city in the world!!! Thank you so much for such a lively response!

decent people are always welcome)
I'm from Kharkov... I often see cars with Russian numbers. glasses are not broken. do not spit in the back.
The main thing is not to provoke and not to succumb to provocations. have a nice rest)
аватар meksika1211
Thanks AllOverTheWorld! The most terrible provocation that we can arrange is to rush to hug and kiss the chestnuts on Khreshchatyk) Thank you very much for the wish!!!

Welcome! Ignore the comments of Barnaul experts on interethnic relations and come! It is difficult not to talk about politics when a difficult, debilitating and very painful conflict provoked by a neighbor is going on in the country. But guests in Ukraine are always welcome. such a people, such a land, such a mentality! Unfortunately, you have already missed the peak of flowering of lilacs, magnolias and chestnuts. This year, everything happened much earlier due to a very warm and early spring. But all the other beauties of Kiev are waiting for you!
аватар meksika1211
Thank you, dear L_ena! Thanks to such benevolent answers, all doubts were dispelled. I would like to say that among us, Russians, there are a lot of those who are madly in love with Ukraine, worry about it with all their hearts and sincerely wish prosperity and well-being!!!

meksika1211, welcome to Kyiv! :))) I agree with previous compatriots - people of Kiev are very hospitable and guests are always welcome!
P.S. The provocation you have planned will not work out - there are almost no chestnuts left on Khreshchatyk! ;))) Look for them at some distance from the center.
P.P.S. If you have any more questions - I will be happy to answer! ;)
аватар meksika1211
Thank you, Vasyusha! What are you, the people of Kiev, magical! Thank you for being you and for being who you are!

I, too, with pleasure, will offer my time to everyone who wants to come to Kyiv! I'll also tell you about Donetsk. Two days since I arrived and even have a photo. Let's be honest, neither Cigars61 (I love you) nor "Barnaul experts" will come to Kyiv, which is a pity.
аватар ollennka
We'll just arrive later.

Friends! This site was created for the exchange of information between tourists in order to organize travel and recreation, and not for political battles. A specific question was asked. Dear tourists, of course, come to our beautiful capital city-hero Kyiv, and not only to Kyiv. There are a lot of beautiful and interesting places in Ukraine, and do not listen to anyone and do not believe any propaganda. Ukraine is a very multinational country, and almost half of the population is Russian (by the way, I am also Russian). And the Ukrainians themselves are very friendly and hospitable people. The Russians, who are now resting in Western Ukraine, are at a loss,"where are the Banderaites?" and they themselves can’t understand anything: how is it that they were told one thing, but in fact everything is quite the opposite (you read their reviews about the Western Ukraine). I myself encountered such people in Truskavets and Khmelnik, people from Russia were simply stunned that they were given such a warm welcome here. So, dear Russians, come to us with good intentions and admire Ukraine!

Eat calmly. A friend was in October, everything is super, I liked everything. Kyiv is a very beautiful city, I love it very much, and now in the spring it is generally blooming in the literal and figurative sense. Enjoy the atmosphere!
аватар sommersbyy
Yes, what kind of attitude can there be - there was and is a good attitude, if, of course, you don’t start walking and shouting slogans about Nazi Bandera in the street :)

At the moment, there is no special attention to foreigners at all. There is nothing to talk about at all, even if the flag on the T-shirt is drawn. Even if provoked, then 50/50 - they will spit, and will not get involved. The people of Kiev have always been friendly to visitors, ... responsive, so to speak. But it’s really better not to mess with nonresidents in Kyiv. That's it from the visitors a lot of trouble. Do you understand the difference?
