Do you have a passport? Submit your Ukrainian passport for re-issuance and drive across the border. We are different countries now, it is clear that a passport is not required to cross the Russian-Ukrainian border, but it is easier with it, believe me, at least for entering Ukraine from Russia.

In accordance with paragraph 25 of ch. 2 of Section III of the Rules of State Registration of Civil Status Acts in Ukraine in case of change of surname during the state registration of marriage, the passport is subject to exchange within a month.
In accordance with paragraph 21 of the Procedure for centralized registration, issuance, exchange, transfer, seizure, return to the state, destruction of the passport of a citizen of Ukraine for the exchange of passports are submitted:
application form;
passport to be exchanged;
receipt of payment of state duty or the original and a copy of the document on exemption from its payment;
marriage certificate.
But despite this, the State Border Guard Service does not guarantee the possibility of PASSING a citizen of Ukraine for its territory with a stamp in the passport to change the name !!!
Change your passport and then feel free to travel to Russia, or make out foreign time still allows, but then it will have to change)

No, you can’t go before changing your passport if you change your last name.
