We rested in Alva Donna from May 3 to May 14 with a family with an 11-year-old daughter in room 5211. When looking for a hotel, I largely focus on the reviews of tourists, so I consider it necessary to return the favor and share my impressions. Some points, it seems to me, are rarely mentioned or hidden behind the phrase "of course, there are some shortcomings. " I apologize in advance for the "many letters". In fact, we saw two different hotels in the period until about May 8th and after. If we had left on May 7, then the service rating would have been in the region of 2-3 points. About everything in order.
Accommodation. We arrived at dinner, filled out the cards, they showed us the direction where to look for our room. The room was not prepared by a third person, the mini bar was empty. But after the application, by the evening the sofa was covered and the mini-bar was filled the next day.
What I want to note in the room is the shower. Very spacious, 4 operating modes, absolutely leak-proof, with a convenient shelf. Another big plus of the hotel is soundproofing. Neighbors are almost inaudible, and if you close the door to the balcony, then outside sounds too. But we almost did not close this door, because even with the general air conditioning turned on, the room became stuffy. The picture of sounds, in addition, was pretty spoiled (especially at night) by a giant external block of either ventilation or air conditioning standing almost opposite the window, periodically turning on and off. My daughter got used to it right away, I got it somewhere on the third night. )) For television gourmets, there are several Russian-language and Ukrainian channels, but they didn’t find a USB connector on the TV, so the child had to do without cartoons brought on a flash drive (which is generally not bad).

From the general geographic: the hotel is the first on the way from the airport and the last on the way back, very close to the sea, and these are big pluses. But in the sea opposite the hotel (and how much we walked along the beach and left and right) there is a stone ridge, and very sharp boulders stick out of the sand in places, which is very unpleasant and even dangerous when swimming, especially with children. (This is not a minus of the hotel, but it must be borne in mind).
Service. We don't have a lot of travel experience, but Alva Donna is by far the most respectable and expensive of all the hotels we've visited before. But at the same time, oddly enough, the rest here turned out to be the least comfortable. What's wrong here? First of all, the organization of lunch. I don’t know for what reasons they decided to hold it not in the main restaurant, but this idea turned out to be clearly unsuccessful during the period of full occupancy of the hotel. It is impossible to find a table regardless of the time of arrival. When he is still there, you need to catch the waiter to clean him up. For every glass of water / juice, etc. you have to run in a giant queue, because it is unrealistic to catch the waiters, they don’t have time to clean the tables and the Germans to bring tea. Yes, and it is somehow strange that in such a solid hotel the tables at dinner are almost right next to the pool, where vacationers are splashing merrily. At dinner, this is also the first time I meet such an organization of distribution, when in the center of the table where the dishes are laid out, the chef prepares something popular (fries fish, for example) and a queue of people with plates line up along the entire table, completely blocking access to it. Why can't this be done a little further afield?
Well, the classic - slender rows of empty sunbeds, fully occupied by towels. If at first it was possible to swim in the lower pool, using the sunbeds of the upper one, then soon the places ran out there too. At the same time, the number of those actually present has never been more than a quarter. So the daily quest in search of a table, a waiter, a sunbed, waiting for suddenly running out of beach towels, water or mugs in a coffee machine, pillows for sitting in the amphitheater, and with warming and a place on the beach deprives the rest of the feeling of measured and calm. But after May 8, the situation suddenly improved. And the people became smaller, and we somehow intuitively found the time when we could come. There were free tables, waiters (oh miracle) bringing wine, and we felt how this service was conceived.
Now about the good. About what did not give a bad rating for the service. First, the children's room. Docha disappeared there for days on end, fell in love with Yana and Duyga, earned a bunch of letters for all sorts of events. Secondly, it is a warm outdoor pool. He was the main reason for choosing the hotel and fully justified itself. And the baby also rolled off the hills enough. With the cleaning of the room, too, everything was in order, as well as with the filling of the minibar. Another unexpected plus for us is animation. We have never been interested in it anywhere and have not participated. Here we have been to almost all the evening shows and were not disappointed in this. We took part in rifle shooting (my wife even earned a diploma for 3rd place). In general, many thanks to the animators guys, they are doing their job. Due to the fact that one day we did not have enough beach towels, we visited the SPA out of nothing to do. We visited all the free steam rooms. I think that in cooler weather this place will be very popular. But the indoor pool was very cold. I already wrote about the sea, and the beach itself is clean, but modest in size. Even at the beginning of May, when the sea was very cool, there were difficulties with places.

Nutrition. If we leave aside organizational issues, then we were all very satisfied with the quality of food preparation. Everyone found something special for themselves. Special thanks for the honeycomb. Very well cooked potatoes in all forms, including mashed potatoes. Wonderful meat, kebabs, Chinese saute. Here the fish was sometimes tasteless and stuffed dishes disappointed - dolma, cabbage rolls, stuffed eggplants. But this is a matter of taste. The minus here is that in the first half of the rest, the set of fruits was limited exclusively to apples, oranges and chopped grapefruits. The fruit salad consisted of a mixture of chopped red and green apples. On the 8th, strawberries appeared, then some other exotic fruit (by the way, it would be nice to put labels with names, at least for the purpose of self-education, what we ate) )). Bars have no complaints. The bartenders worked well, all the drinks are very high quality. I note that juice everywhere from boxes of good quality. And still it is necessary to note Anatoly's restaurant. We ate there for several days instead of the main restaurant. Pleasant service, very tasty, albeit spicy, dishes - chicken skewers, kebab, turkey steak, etc. In addition, delicious gozleme cakes are baked there, there is airan and, of course, delicious ice cream.
So, we visited a very good hotel, which provides a huge number of services included in the concept. But at the same time, the division of tourist flows during the period of maximum occupancy of the hotel is poorly thought out. The large areas available in the buildings are practically not used - all kinds of recreation rooms, a games room, an area with tables behind the 6th building are empty, and in fact there, if desired, one could feed 100 people, organizing, for example, themed meals and unloading the main restaurant . It's kind of a shame that in many ways a luxury hotel can't always provide the most basic services, creating problems we haven't experienced before. We would love to come back here during the off-season, when there are few tourists.
