Dirty towels
Dirty dishes
Scorched plastic chairs on a dirty balcony
Gym all five days filled with water
Smoke everything and everywhere
The kitchen is ugly: meat dishes are something filled with gravy. From fruits only melons and watermelons
The room was never cleaned in 5 days.
probably revenge for the fact that we said that we were going to change the hotel.
They offered to move to the same neighboring one for 280€.
Settling mostly local with children
Almost no one speaks English
There is nothing to do outside the gates of the hotel - a holiday village
Wifi is disgusting!
In the first 3 days, 40 people rested at the hotel - everything was pleasant and comfortable, but when tourists stopped in, it became very stressful to live. There were not enough sunbeds, umbrellas too, I was already afraid of dinner - an endless line for food, we stood for 40 minutes, it's simply unrealistic, I watched this for the first time in my life !!!
The choice of food is very modest, from fruits only watermelon and melon, I ate fish 1 time, the second time I lost my nerves to stand in line.
The tables are cleaned very slowly and after the first meal you sit in a pile of dirty dishes, the staff simply does not have time to serve so many guests, but the guys are trying very hard.
Be prepared for the fact that the hotel staff does not speak Russian-Only English.
You will be offered to go on an excursion on a boat and they will beautifully paint all the beauties that you will see there, but in fact the sea is icy - it is impossible to dive and swim, there are no fish, I swam only 1 time through force and I am not alone, drinks are not included in the cost, therefore take money with you.
The rooms are clean and tidy, but the plumbing is old.
The staff is very responsive, attentive and kind.
The territory of the hotel is microscopic, and to get to the sea you have to cross the road(
Internet works only in the lobby, it is available on the territory, but it is extremely difficult to connect.
Food for those who are not on a diet, baby food too. There is also no children's animation and a pool. There is a shallow pool on the bone and large ones from 175 cm deep - it will be difficult with children.
The contingent of vacationers is 50% local, 40% Europeans and 10% Russians and Ukrainians.
This is a 4-star hotel, so I expected something like this, but painted everything for clarity
Special thanks to the animators, they put their soul into their work, and more than compensate for the small territory of the hotel - you are doing something all day long !!!!!
Also thanks to my grandmother who baked Turkish cheese cakes on the beach in the afternoon and smiled all the time!!
All the questions that I had were quickly resolved at the reception, for this ++
Bodrum is very beautiful, similar to Greece, payment is only in euros.
Very pleasant climate - +40 is not felt at all - the wind, it is easy to sunbathe.
During the rest there were different emotions, but now everything is more clear: do not expect magic and super conditions from the hotel, you will have a pleasant rest, like in childhood in the camp, and if the ticket is not expensive, you can safely buy, and if the price is high, look for something something else.
The food is normal, especially without abundance, but there is a choice (I praise food from the Club Onura 4 * Bodrum, it is much better there), in the evenings they give ice cream.
Separately, I want to write about the beach. The fact that it is across the road is half the trouble, the road is not wide, the traffic is not strong. But the beach itself is terrible: the sand is gray, black algae swim in the sea, even the color of the water is somehow muddy, not beautiful.
There is not a single swing for children, there are a couple of pusher horses in the mini club and that's it.
In general, of all the hotels in which we beat in Turkey, Golden Beach left the most bad impressions.
Now for the comments. By 2013, the hotel has seen a lot, so the rooms, to put it mildly, are shabby. On the day of arrival, we were placed in a disgusting end room overlooking the garbage! At the request to move us to another room, the reception asked to wait until tomorrow, because. there were no empty rooms. But the next day everything was fixed.
For people who go on vacation with children and only sunbathe and swim, this place is just perfect, especially since the price and quality are quite adequate. But if you have a desire to leave the walls of the hotel and take a walk somewhere in cafes and shops, I will disappoint you 100%!! ! This misfortune befell my husband, who does not like beach holidays. Plus, the global absence of Russian-speaking vacationers exacerbated this fact. In percentage terms, at the time of our vacation, 40 percent of the Dutch arrived at the hotel, 30 percent of the Poles, ours was 10 percent, and the rest were in pickle. In addition, the staff is English speaking.
The Bodrum region is very pleasant, white houses on the Greek motif, the main trees are olive and pine. Were on an excursion in Bodrum, really liked it. Turgutreis itself is also a pretty town, it can be reached from the hotel by regular taxi for 7-8 minutes (20 lire or $10). The minibus runs every 20-30 minutes, it is cheaper but longer, about 20 minutes to go.
I hope my comment will be useful to someone. Have a nice holiday)))
And now I will try to objectively evaluate its advantages and disadvantages.
STAFF AND GUESTS OF THE HOTEL. There are very few Ukrainians and Russians. Whether this is an advantage or a disadvantage is up to you. For me personally, it was more of a virtue. There are a lot of Poles, there are Romanians, Belgians, Germans, Englishmen, Czechs. At the reception, one girl knows Russian very well, the rest understand, but not very much. However, the Russian-speaking people had no problems with communication (sign language helped : )).
TERRITORY. I liked the fact that the buildings were located away from the noisy pool, restaurants and the beach. That is, if you decide to take a nap at lunch, for sure you will not be disturbed by the happy squeals of the kids by the pool. The territory is small, if you like long evening walks around the hotel, then look for something with a larger territory. The area is green and very clean. There were no complaints about the structure.
FOOD. The food is very tasty and more or less varied. There were queues for food at the very beginning of dinner, near the meat. I really liked the fact that as soon as hungry tourists ate myalo (watermelon, stewed vegetables), they immediately took out the supplement. On Sunday we had a Turkish night: we were fed exclusively with Turkish food. It was super! The chefs did their best. My food experience at this hotel is better than some of the top 5's.
NUMBERS. And here are the numbers. Repair is 4-5 years old. But nothing flowed, did not crumble, everything is clean. The air conditioner worked poorly. The rooms were cleaned every day. My husband and I had a room on the first floor, in the very back of the hotel. Nobody interfered with us and did not walk under the windows. However, there are not very good ground floors, where people often walk past the windows and like to stare with a curious look (I, for example, furtively : ))
ENTERTAINMENT. I'm not a fan of hotel entertainment at all. But I absolutely love this animation! The guys are groovy, they are not forced to take part in competitions. But on the day or two, it’s already tempting to participate : ) Again, we liked the Turkish night. They invited professional belly dancers (although I saw better dances in Ukraine : ) And then the dancers showed national Turkish dances. That was something! Just great. There are no discos near the hotel. But the animators free (! ) carry back and forth to the disco in Turgutreis (village nearby).
The hotel has a hammam and a regular sauna (all for free). I didn’t really appreciate the hamam, but we often went to the sauna. I highly recommend that you immediately run from the sauna to plunge into the sea!
SEA AND BEACH. The coast is sandy, it is very comfortable to enter the sea. The sea is shallow. If you are traveling with kids or just not a very good swimmer, this is for you. We were at the beginning of June, the sea was still a bit cold, but we swam several times a day In general, we really liked the sea: almost no stones, golden sand, clean.
I warn you: some old foreign women like to sunbathe without a top on the beach. This sight took me some getting used to, but my husband never got used to it : ))
Umbrellas, deck chairs, mattresses - all for free. But beach towels are paid. As a rule, they bring everything with them from home.
There are 3 pools: a small paddling pool for children, a round deep one and a long rectangular one. It is better to take a place before 10 o'clock: later it will be difficult to find a good one.
I advise you to go to Borum, in the center. It's pretty picturesque there.
Have a good rest and pleasant impressions!
The hotel is very good. The territory is small, but very well-groomed and green.
The hotel has a lot of foreigners and the attitude of the staff is very pleasant, not intrusive and inconspicuous.
The food is just rubbish. We just had breakfast on the beach, grandmother bakes cakes, they make pizza in the oven, then lunch, then gingerbread, then dinner. I love simple food - and it was not difficult for me to find variety: meat + vegetables, fish + vegetables, many different salads - but their vegetables are juicy and tasty - so why do we need a salad... But my husband said that he was tired of eggs for breakfast . Yes, I agree - every morning they can fry eggs or an omelet in front of you... probably get bored... but I sometimes ate muesli for breakfast, sometimes fruits.
In general, they feed more often than in Egypt (5 *), but not so varied
The room we got was average. After 5 * in Egypt there is a difference. But we did not come to sit in the room, but to relax, walk and travel.
There is almost nowhere to walk outside the hotel, only along the coastal strip. That Turgutres and Akualar are far from the hotel, that is, there is no nightlife.
The animation is average - but if we want to entertain ourselves, we know how.
It is very convenient for children in the sea - you walk for a long time and everything is knee-deep.
There, not far from the Lighthouse, you will see there is a quartz beach, I don’t know if it was soaped from the tube - but on the shore and in the water the shiny pebbles are very small like dust - they shine so brightly in the sun - it seems like gold dust.
Excursions: do not take tours to hotels, they are much more expensive, sometimes even 50%.
Go to Bodrum. Minibuses right outside the hotel run very often and cost 5 lira to Bodrum. There, from the Garage (this is the name of the bus station), you go down the street that leads to the fortress of Bodrum (it’s also interesting to go there later) and literally 15-20 meters from the traffic light on the left side ask Olya Direct tour agency. She will tell you everything and give you a map of Bodrum for free. Agency Direct tour As we understand, they have been working for 8-10 years in the tourism market. Our guide said that Olya is standing on this street all the time. And after 20 years you will arrive, her children will stand and after 50 her grandchildren))) In general, do not be afraid - buy vouchers from them 40-50% cheaper than they offer you at the hotel. And they will come to your hotel for you.
On the first two days, be sure to go to the Hamam, this is their Turkish bath. Very nice and helpful.
Shopping: our guide Victoria offered us a leather shop, they came to the hotel and took us. And from tour operators they also take them to shops, but Victoria is something.
You should know both in Egypt and in Turkey they tell you the starting price is 3-4 times more. And then, little by little, they throw it off.
We had a limit of $1100 for the purchase of sheepskin coats for me and my husband. But the prices there are not very low. They say these are new collections and so on, BUT our people buy leather for the price in Turkey. Our collections in Kyiv are new. But Victoria, our guide, I don’t know how, but she simply “begged” local sellers to drop prices. In general, from the initial price of 1200 euros for a men's jacket, we bought it for 500 bucks and 1900 euros for a women's jacket for 650 bucks.
BUT but jersey on Saturday in Turgutress is very cheap. Also on the marshturk 2 lira from the hotel.
I liked the rest. The hotel turned out to be very suitable for us, although a couple of years ago we would have been bored there, because there is nowhere to go from the hotel. You can always find flaws if you wish, but the hotel is absolutely worth the money. Who goes to rest, he will enjoy a relaxing holiday, the sea and the sun, and those who are always dissatisfied with everything, it is better to stay at home.
We wanted to change the situation, rinse the child in the sea, get a little tan, relax, forget about everyday worries and be together. We had a good rest without looking for dust under the bed, rust under the rim of the toilet, etc. The hotel is not luxurious, but, again, it is worth the money.
Accommodation.
A few dollars, a baby in her arms and a friendly smile - and we got the keys to three rooms to choose from. The situation in the rooms is the same, BUT one room was on the third floor, you can’t stomp there with a child. In the other, there was practically no balcony, that is, it formally exists, but it’s not only to sit there, but it’s also difficult to stand, because it is 20 centimeters wide. Finally, the third one was on the first floor and with a normal balcony. Of course we took him. The balcony was important for us, because at nine in the evening the child went to bed, and we, having taken something from the bar, sat on the balcony, admiring the sky and the lush hotel vegetation.
Number.
No frills but ok room. The furniture is not new, the appliances too, but everything works, nothing falls apart. We were given a triple room with one double and one single bed for a child. We went and asked for a baby bed with sides. A couple of hours later they brought it, but the child refused to sleep in it.
But there, too, you can always easily find a place. The beach itself is certainly not "golden"; , but the water in the sea is just super. It really shines in the sun, it seems that the smallest golden dust particles are floating in the water. Very beautiful. The sea is shallow. Expanse for children. There is nowhere for adults to swim. At the entrance to the sea there is a narrow strip with pebbles, then the bottom is sandy, the water is very clean. Once every three or four days, algae wash up on the shore. They do not interfere, because they are quickly raked up and removed. The water is not as warm as on the Antalya coast, but quite comfortable. We all bathed.
Territory.
Small. Very green, well-groomed, beautiful. Bushes, palm trees, ficuses, etc. grow wildly in every corner of the hotel.
Animation.
Very unobtrusive. I repeat and say that we didn’t need it at all, so everything suited us. There are practically no noisy games. Charging for pensioners, darts, water polo once a day - that's probably all.
We are self-sufficient people, besides with a small child, we do not need to be entertained. The animation team took those who wished every evening to Bodrum to discos. We didn’t get to the evening programs, so I can’t say anything.
Vacationers.
Belgians, Dutch, French, Germans, Poles, and of course Russians. Mostly couples with children and companies of mature age.
Staff.
The staff is very friendly, but English is not very good. Our child was simply squeezed, which, frankly, was a shock for us at first, because it is not customary for us to touch, pick up, kiss other people's children. It's normal for them. I had to politely ask at least not to kiss him, referring to the fact that he did not like it.
Have a good rest everyone.
Didn't want to leave!!
A few tips for vacationers: do not go on free excursions with Teztour (jewelry, textiles, the Sultan of the Bazaar) - these are expensive shops, even by European standards - just waste your time. If you want to buy something, go to Turgutreis, on Saturdays there is a bazaar, a minibus goes from the hotel and costs 2 dollars. Do not go on excursions with Teztour either, take a minibus to Bodrum, and see the city for $ 4 and go shopping, and agree with another travel agency about excursions (there all excursions are about 2 times cheaper, for comparison: 2 A day trip to Ephesus and Pamukkale costs $70, while Teztour costs $160! )
Have a good REST everyone.
