I really liked the color of the hotel - white with turquoise accents. The style is maintained throughout the hotel, from the facades to the bedspreads. By the deterioration of the furniture in the rooms, we can say that it is time to update, but at the moment, under quarantine conditions, this is financially irrational.
The staff is friendly, Russian speaking. Solving all your problems. My request was that I wanted extra sheets (because the bedspread was waffle and I was uncomfortable after sunburn and needed a smooth bedspread). also the standard pillow did not suit me either, too full. The request was fulfilled before the evening - They brought two sheets and a nice little pillow. But the next day, after cleaning the room, everything was done according to the original standard. This was frustrating, but having repeated their request, it was fulfilled within half an hour. Just the staff who cleaned the room was not aware. Until the end of the race, everything remained as I asked.
After reviewing the previous reviews of tourists, I want to note that the negative reviews were given ten years ago! Since that time in 2017 there was a renovation!
A special place in my review is occupied by pools and a water slide. It's cool to dive into fresh water after the sea. Arriving during the quarantine period, I could not enjoy all the benefits of the hotel - sauna, bathhouse, hammam, spa and animation. I think you will be lucky and you will get a wonderful and unforgettable vacation in the resort town of Bodrum.
The trip to Bodrum is not difficult, stop in front of the reception (the main entrance to the hotel) or for hardy tourists walk 2-3 km, overcoming the mountain. Bodrum has many cultural monuments and a berth for beautiful and expensive yachts.
After staying for 7 days and having explored all the surroundings, I want to recommend this hotel as corresponding to its 4 stars.
In general, after the scandal and some manipulations with banknotes, it was possible to improve living conditions to quite tolerable - the hotel had recently opened and was not yet completely filled.
Now about the main thing. Beach on the sea. Consider that it is not there, we were on it only on the first day - it is really very close to the hotel (3 min), a dozen blue mushrooms with sunbeds, but located in a very dirty place. To the right and left of the beach, small rivers / sewage / xs flow into the sea, but everything is very dirty, a lot of garbage, stray dogs. Therefore, we went to the sea along the coast 300 meters to the right, the sandy shore is quite normal.
Swimming pool - 1 worked with us, at the end of the stay they launched the 2nd. The water is warm, pleasant, you just need to take sunbeds on time. There is no animation (but this is rather a plus for me), the water slide is sometimes turned on, the children liked the stay in the pool, in general, I did too.
Food. You will not die hungry, there is enough food, without any frills, but it was interesting to try different things. There is not much meat)), but almost always there is, scrambled eggs, pizza, cream soups, rice, some Turkish dishes, salads, fruits, cakes (they are often soaked in syrup, very tasty), I liked Turkish bread.
By the way, the hotel is in great demand among the Turks themselves, I would say that it is 3/4 inhabited by Turks (as for me it is also +) and at the end of our stay the hotel was significantly filled.
Number, as I said, one room with 1st large bed and 1st bunk bed. There is a refrigerator, hair dryer, air conditioning, safe. We did not turn on the TV (what's the point? ).
Room service, as for me, is the weak point in this hotel. After checking into the room, which seems to be better than what was shown at the beginning, I had to immediately change the pillows and pillowcases, some of the towels and insist that they give more (there were only 4 towels, 2+2, +1 for legs, but there were 4 of us, so 4+4). They clean it like every day, but it’s somehow unstable)), the feeling that they don’t bother with it much. But we didn’t sit in the room, I recommend boat trips to the Black Island or along the Dalyan River, get a lot of fun!
Of the pluses I can name - the price, close to the sea, the sea - the Aegean, a small number of Russian speakers. Even when you are in Turkey, try the local ayran, I really never drank it tastier anywhere, I bought it in supermarkets, Shoki, nearby, 5 lira for 1.5 liters of this delicious drink.
Of the minuses - the quality of room service, the hotel's dirty beach.
The room is good, with an excellent view from the balcony, nothing fell off, did not creak, with plasma and air conditioning. Everything worked.
Special thanks to chef Salim, who put his soul into every dish, I will remember fabulous desserts for a very long time! He always asked if he liked it and thanked if the guests were satisfied.
My husband made friends with the bartender and drank beer with pleasure, he said that it was good, I drank white wine and a cocktail, pleasant light drinks. The coffee is good and strong. The staff from early morning until late at night run like bees, fuss, making our stay comfortable and enjoyable.
Cleaning daily, change of towels too, linen changed 2 times. Thanks to the maid for the heart with flowers, which she kindly built for us. In general, an excellent green hotel, we will try to come again and of course we recommend it to everyone.
I want to say a few words to those who write nonsense. Open your eyes!! ! Either you always walked around with displeasedly distorted faces and aroused antipathy, or you were not there and write garbage to order. I'll throw off the photo, so that there would be no doubt about the reality of the stay.
We rested as a couple: me and my boyfriend. We arrived at the hotel in the evening and we did not find a single person from the staff who spoke English. They understood and spoke only Turkish, which made any negotiations very difficult. With grief in half we were taken to our room. In the evening, you can hardly see anything, but even then the territory did not impress us. When we were brought to the room, we simply looked around it quickly from fatigue and said that everything was fine, but after five minutes in the room we realized that no one had cleaned it in front of us, that the pillows were covered in black spots, and every towel had yellow spots. We went to investigate. At check-in, we saw another couple who flew in with us. They were also very unhappy and asked for a change of room. As it turned out later (during further communication), we were simply swapped with them. We were satisfied with their "old" room, even though the balcony door was blocked with a nail (! ). After that, we decided to go out for a walk, and upon our return, a plate of food was waiting for us. . on the floor. . covered with napkins. . this, apparently, was our dinner, which we missed due to a late check-in. (this plate was not removed from our room three days, until we ourselves put her on a chair, on which some Turk often sat)
The breakfast was very poor, but it is worth paying tribute to the fact that every day the food got better and I can even put 4-5 for it.
We decided to change the hotel, but it turned out to be impossible in our situation and we had to put up with it. At that time, we had not yet been to the beach, which is a couple of minutes from the hotel. The beach is HORRIBLE. It looks worse than the beaches of the Dnieper. It was impossible to go into the sea because of the stones (and not natural, but some kind of construction), the water is muddy, and the sand is terribly dirty. Here we were completely disappointed.
Every day we heard more and more complaints from the newly settled people. Housekeeping at this hotel is a luxury. You have to run around and ask that you at least wipe the floors. I don't even talk about changing towels.
The air conditioner in our room did not turn off with a remote control and did not have an outlet connection, so we found another way. We turned it off in the electrical panel, which was in the hallway at the entrance to our room. Normal, right?
Yes, we have adapted. Yes, you can deal with everything. Yes, there is a good swimming pool and excellent beaches: one is 5 minutes away, the other is about 15 minutes away (which sometimes you have to get into by cunning or for a purchased cocktail). BUT! Why promise 4 stars? Yes, and for the money that we paid, you could find a NORMAL 4 stars, or at least a solid 3, but not 2 with a stretch at COSTA BLU.
Do not believe any descriptions on the net about this hotel, in reality everything is much worse.
The hotel has changed its owner, who failed to put it in order in time, i. е. this is a minus for the entire Costa Group hotel chain, they took the money, but forgot to do it.
Dishes, rubbish, dirty linen were lying around our room every day. The owners of the hotel recruited whom they could for work, not nearly worrying about their reputation.
By the end of our holiday, after numerous complaints written to the tour operator, the hotel began to rustle, but many had already ruined their vacation.
Gumbert itself is far from Bodrum, but its area is crowded with tourists with a dirty bay. If you do not plan to see the sea in Gumbert, then, of course, you can go.
