TunisTunis
how is it there?? it seems to me that there will be “not very good”, since there are only negative reviews ... the most interesting question is safety! How is law and order there? what is the attitude towards the Russians? after all, there are only Arabs .. and in general, good people who rested there, name at least a couple of pluses of a holiday in Tunisia (if there are any at all).
thank you in advance)

The attitude towards Russians is normal, it is quite safe to rest.
I don't like Tunisia...

Minuses:
-It's hot in summer
- the sea is muddy, with jellyfish
- public beaches
-SPA expensive

We rested in Tunisia at the end of May. It's quite safe there. The people are sociable and friendly. The attitude towards Russians is the same as for all tourists. There is a desire to breed for money. But it's like that everywhere.
Pros:
- beautiful sea
- good kitchen
- interesting excursion (Carthage, Sahara, Dugga)
Minuses
- a lot of garbage in areas outside the hotel.

Fedosenko, I will be waiting for your feedback!

I have been to Tunisia 2 times and I am no longer drawn there. Excursions are not bad, the sea is cold (it was in June), very windy. In short - not inspired!

I was in Port El Kantaoui in July. I went to Tunisia in order to learn a new country. Everything was even possible to say within comfort. The sea is clean, the sand is of a pleasant structure. I don’t go to the same place twice. So, if you are not capricious, go and don’t think about sad things !!!!!!
аватар Zayac3
I was in Tunisia at the end of May-beginning of June. Pros:
- cheap souvenirs - magnets, figurines, sunglasses, ashtrays, vases, jewelry and even there-there (very, compared to Egypt and especially Turkey)
- excellent olive oil, coffee and dates (also all at very affordable prices). It is better to take products in local supermarkets.
- safe, the Arabs are not aggressive, a lot of police.
- Excursions are not expensive and at a good level. I highly recommend the Sahara for two days, only this will allow you to get to know the essence and characteristics of the country.
Cons - dirty and cold sea at the beginning of summer and the service is inferior to the service of Turkey and Egypt.
Conclusion - it's worth a trip for the sake of new impressions from a new country.

I was in Tunisia in early June between Sousse and Monastir. I liked it. Good sandy beaches with white sand, the sea was clean, not cold. The service in the hotel is normal. The cuisine is delicious. There is something to see in the country (Sahara, El-Jem, Douz, Kairouan (chic handmade carpets) went to the village to the Bedouins, Sousse, Monastir (the mausoleum of the first president) is generally a very green and beautiful country, it just has not yet fully recovered from the 2011 riots The people are friendly. The only significant disadvantage is that they only know Arabic, French and German. English is very small (( and Russian is very few. It used to be very difficult to explain, especially outside the hotel.

I have a question whether to go to Tunisia for a couple of years now and I’m not going to. some like Tunisia, while others spit.
two days ago, a friend flew for 18 days with a one-year-old child. before that she was there with her husband in 2010. apparently liked it.
As far as security is concerned, everything is ok. with the weather too.
аватар svbir
I already wrote my opinion on Tunisia, read the reviews and comments. As for me, you can go once and then only because of the excursions. Everything else is bad. Don't worry about safety! Everything is calm in Baghdad!)))

Let's start with the question: In what countries has the respected author of the question already been? That is, with what will we compare?!!! Any country deserves to be visited. But before you go there, decide what exactly YOU want to get from the trip. I’ll add to Zayac3’s answer that there are excellent tallasso centers in Tunisia, but again, a visit from them must be planned in advance (the cycle of procedures is at least 4 days!). If you are not spoiled by Turkey and Egypt, then you will surely like it. We personally visited Tunisia for the Sahara and Carthage - and it's worth it! It’s a pity that we didn’t take into account the climate of North Africa, we were in early June, the sea there at that time was cold for me personally, therefore the impressions were generally blurred. But it’s not a fact that someday I won’t visit this lovely republic again.. The attitude of the local population towards the Russians is benevolent (2 more years and they will speak Russian, as in their "native" French), politics - there is practically anarchy in the country (there are no municipal authorities), but at the same time everything is calm, the police respect their people. Everything is calm in the resort areas. Traveled around the country, also normal. When we were driving from the Sahara, the guide was informed by phone about the change of route to the restaurant - a strike, we went on a different road and that's it!
аватар jp-web
Service in Tunisia is low. I draw your attention to the fact that there are many abandoned hotels in the coastline (first line) of the Mediterranean Sea !!! Can you imagine this in the Krasnodar Territory or in Ukraine or in Bulgaria, Greece? Lots of unemployed people. We personally visited once and never went there naked! even for free
аватар jp-web
and here they write about excursions at a high level ... Lies !!! All excursions are "sucked from the finger." A trip to the Sahara is generally Pindos (!). All daylight hours you eat in the bus in the heat. Day go there and day back. In the Sahara, you only spend the night in an inexpensive hotel.
аватар Samana
Was 2 times. The first time in May 2009, I liked it, the sea is cool for this time, but the beach is not hot and the tan is excellent. The second time I went in February 2013, but purely because of the excursions. I wanted to visit the Sahara and the capital again. Here they write about security, a large number of policemen on the streets, but despite this I was robbed. And this happened when transferring from one bus to another after the tour. Two people on a moped rushed past me and ripped the bag from my shoulder.
аватар bileg
Well, a person can be robbed in any country, and theft in Europe and Southeast Asia (Spain, Italy, Romania) is generally a common thing. I was robbed in Poland, I also came across counterfeit money for change, thefts were in China. In the future, I began to count fewer crows! And at the expense of excursions, I advise you to find out what the guide will be like before buying an excursion! You can find this out quickly, with tourists who have just gone on an excursion. So before buying an excursion to the Sahara, I received full and comprehensive information about the Pegasus and foreign tourist guides at the hotel, I chose according to my needs, which I do not regret! The trip was more than 1250 km, very intense and informative, the guide practically did not stop talking about Tunisia or just amused us. If it were not for trips around the country, I personally have nothing to do in Tunisia!

The question was about Tunisia, and I am talking about what happened to me in Tunisia. What about other states?
аватар Katya_Classic
It's generally good there))) About 5 years ago, I would not have been dragged to Tunisia. All the reviews of friends did not touch me. But last year there was a mood to go to Tunisia.
I've been there twice already and would like more!
1st time - Sousse, beach holiday.
2nd time - Monastir, Hammamet, Mahdia.
After the 1st time with a beach holiday, for the 2nd time I already wanted to consider the country. Therefore, I went on the main excursions:
- Sahara (2 days);
- Carthage, which was nevertheless destroyed;
- Kairouan, where carpets are made;
- El Jem, where the Roman amphitheater is located.

All this must be seen with your own eyes!
But - the car park in the country is very old, it is dirty in the cities, after the tide, the sea throws algae ashore, which are then collected by a special tractor. Because of this, it seems that the beaches of the hotels are dirty, but they are not. Often, employees simply do not cope with cleaning, because. The sea throws up algae every hour.
Tunisia is multifaceted and everyone will find something to their liking: sandy beaches, ancient streets and mosques of the Medina (Old City), oriental markets, modern shops and cafes, thalasso centers.
I would go to Tunisia again, to the city of Hammamet for thalasso-procedures and relaxation.
аватар Fedosenko
Now in Hammamet, the Residence Mauhmud Hotel is normal Vacationers are mostly Russian women of retirement age The sea is clean but cool I hope that excursions to the Sahara will decorate your stay in Tunisia For the second time we will definitely not go to Tunisia
аватар bileg
Dear opponents of Tunisia! You have chosen a strange method of "minus" all more or less reviews for visiting Tunisia. This is at least not correct before the author of the question. In Tunisia (as well as in any country) there are two sides of the coin, and only by visiting it personally can a person determine for himself whether it is worth going there a second time.
PS: I am satisfied with what I saw in the country, despite the fact that the hotel, the sea and the beach were not impressive! (See my review for more details). I don’t promise that I won’t come again, the motivation for this can be: relatively cheap tours, sandy beaches (convenient with grandchildren), thalassotherapy.
аватар jp-web
Dear Bileg:
1.tours far to Tunisia are not cheap
2. thalassotherapy - far from the highest level (although for those who have not seen anything in this life, this is the peak of perfection)
3. Excursions are all "sucked from the finger" in order to cut the loot from the tourists.
4. It's one thing when they try to cut down loot from tourists, it's another thing when they don't sincerely hate you. So in Tunisia, for the most part, they are trying to cut down the loot from tourists and at the same time they hate it!
5. Hotels are abandoned in the Mediterranean coastline! Does this fact mean nothing to you!?
аватар jp-web
We were lucky that we lived in a hotel owned by a Turkish company and the service was good. Everything is sad in other hotels. Cuisine in Tunisia is poor and not particularly diverse. Of all the restaurants that we were, only once I liked the skewers of steamed lamb in a roadside cafe
аватар Vika-klubnika
I lived in a Caribbean chain hotel. Food and service are top notch! The cuisine is very varied and very tasty. Many different desserts, a lot of meat, fish, seafood, vegetables. And there are many hotels abandoned after the uprising of 2010-2011!!! Naturally, a consequence of this decline in the volume of tourists, high unemployment, inflation. Hotels are just ruined. And I don’t know where you are and the MAIN thing for what ??? hated (why did you offend them so much???), because in Tunisia there are very pleasant, friendly and hospitable people! Tunisia is still only a developing resort for Russian tourists! And didn't you really take an interest in the history and traditions of the country you were going to before the trip???
And they didn’t understand that you weren’t going to EUROPE??? And to a visa-free Muslim Arab country!!!!
аватар jp-web
Vika-rlubnika, as in any underdeveloped Arab country, has a very high level of aggression, VERY HIGH!
In Tunisia, in the tourist zone, they only think about how to rip off money from you, while they don’t even think about raising the level of service and at the same time they HATE you. Take compare with Turkey!
аватар jp-web
The exchange rate of the local currency against the dollar is 1:1. Prices cannot be said to be cheap. The cost of a holiday (including pocket expenses) in Tunisia is equivalent to the cost of a holiday in Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Croatia, Thailand (summer), Vietnam (summer).
аватар jp-web
Tallas therapy in Tunisia is a MYTH promoted by travel agencies. At the same time, for this money in the Russian Federation you can get much better services. If someone wants to "raise virgin lands" and support the overlooked, arrogant, greedy and lazy Tour industry of Tunisia - for God's sake !!! FORWARD
аватар Pachok
jp-web, you are writing some nonsense ... With all my dislike for Tunisia, I cannot but say that:
- the kitchen is not just good, but EXCELLENT (in normal hotels and establishments),
- hotels are GOOD according to the categories. No need to compare threes in Hammamet with fives in Belek,
- Arabs in Tunisia are very lazy, they probably never dreamed of such strong feelings as hatred. They are even too lazy to be greedy :) No aggression,
- And, yes, - Tunisia is very cheap this year. Cheaper than any other seaside resort region within a short flight radius,
- Thalasso is very expensive. But very high quality. Maybe we were just in different hotels?
With all this, I’m unlikely to go to Tunisia the second time, the cons for me outweigh the pros.
аватар jp-web
Pachok
1.please list the dishes from the national Tunisian cuisine ??? Let's compare it with Georgian
2. The star rating of hotels in Tunisia is relative and this is a 100% fact.
3. "Arabs in Tunisia are very lazy, they probably never dreamed of such strong feelings as hatred. They are even too lazy to be greedy :) No aggression" - You yourself understood what garbage Libya, Algeria, Syria, Egypt wrote to you - not an example?
4. About high-quality Thalasso - you wrote a lie.
аватар sandra-art
I don’t know about Tunisian cuisine, but for sure there are a lot of Arabic dishes there. and for me personally it is on the same level as the Georgian one. I cook myself at home.
and of course sweets. I have a friend who has been resting there for 10 days now, so she writes that she won’t climb out of the gym when she returns, as she has already gained extra kilos.
she is not the first time in Tunisia and she likes it much more than Egypt, especially for food.
аватар Pachok
1. Tunisians cook great meat, especially lamb. All types of tagines are just great. Delicious veal than tajine with olives, I have not yet seen anywhere else. Briki with meat or tuna, sweet and salty samsa, Fatima's fingers. Fish and seafood in all forms. A variety of roasted vegetable dishes, especially peppers and eggplants. Couscous is an amateur, I don’t eat any cereals, so I can’t rate it. Soups are spicy and spicy, with meat or squid, I don’t remember the names, or rather, I don’t know, I tried to cook later at home myself - it doesn’t work.
I understand that you are a connoisseur of Georgian cuisine? Compare if possible. Because I see that you have nothing to compare - you have not tried good Tunisian cuisine. I can compare - both are good. There are even overlaps, but the differences are very strong in terms of the sauces and seasonings used. The cuisine of Tunisia is a mixture of Arabic, French and North African traditions.
аватар Pachok
2. This is not a fact, this is just your opinion, based on a single stay in a weak, "burning", "Russian" hotel (I was not too lazy, I read your review).
As in any other country, there are good hotels and bad ones, but they, as a rule, correspond to their star rating.
3. All Arab countries are different and the people in them are different too. Like the Slavs, for example. A Russian and a Pole are as different as an Egyptian and a Tunisian. Also, Tunisian Arabs think they are French :)
4. Thalasso is of high quality - that's a fact. People who have visited Southeast Asia, of course, will be offended by the PRICES for procedures. Well, men still do not have enough, perhaps, such an attitude that Thai masseuses demonstrate, but, as a woman, I responsibly declare that the QUALITY of the programs is high.
And a little about the personal.
jp-web, please, refrain from the words "garbage" and "lies" in a conversation with me. Perhaps it is customary for you, but cultured people usually communicate here. Thanks for understanding.
