Is it safe to travel alone to Tunisia?
So it turns out that there were no fellow travelers, the food is alone. Tunisia. I want for 5 days, all-in, and do not go outside the hotel (I didn’t understand only the beaches are attached to the hotels there or just outside the territory). Worried about the attitude of Arab men .. I would like a calm and SAFE holiday. Advise me if I should go to Tunisia alone?..

You know, maybe others will say that nothing terrible will happen in the tourist zone of an Arab country, but I would not advise, choose Turkey or Cyprus for example ... the Arabs are arrogant, they took me away by the arms ....

Thanks for the advice)

you are traveling alone, and do not prefer to be a hermit. choose a large hotel where there are many tourists - you will find a company quickly.
I remember in Turkey we met guys who came alone - a girl and three guys, two from Russia and one from Moldova, and they all had a great rest together both on the beach and in restaurants and at animation and disco
about the Arabs - say that the husband is a Muslim and that's it. will not climb. back up with what's coming soon. it helps me. if not, I know the Arabic language well, after that they don’t fit at all

In June 2012, I went to Tunisia with my daughter, 8 years old. So I can tell you that Tunisians are loving people, but not arrogant. (Not like in Egypt). They can ask questions, offer something, but no matter how many times I traveled, no one even touched a finger!!! Although I went on my own to Monastir and Sousse to the market and shopping centers! And so we walked around the city alone with my daughter ... and it was absolutely not scary!

Tunisia is not Egypt, that's for sure. The people are still calmer and more cultured.
But you still can’t be insured against increased attention. A border guard (!) spotted me in the queue, jumped up, became agitated and led me by the arms past the queue, slapped a stamp. And this is in the presence of a husband not just somewhere, but next to me. True, then I was a tall blonde with a 50th clothing size :)

but nothing bad happened! He just showed attention! Not rude and vulgar!!! And don't be embarrassed!!! That's exactly what I was talking about!! They do not obsessively pay attention, always smile and are ready to help a beautiful woman)))))

Yes. I even smiled somewhere that a big white woman in Tunisia would not be lost. But I don’t know how I would react if I were alone - I don’t tolerate violations of my personal space. And here it is in the order of things.

I was in Tunisia 2 weeks ago - I met a lot of single women who had a great rest! Whoever is looking for something will find it in any country! if you don’t need a man on vacation, then no one will drag you by the hand! What is the difference in nationality - that there are no boors in Russia! Go if you want to see a new country - I advise Port El Kantaoui. The beaches in Tunisia are all municipal - everyone can visit . Beach care is provided by the hotel on whose territory the beach is located!

Arrived from Tunisia on the 6th of August, rested for 11 days (in Mahdia). I agree with most opinions - although they are Arabs, they are quite well-mannered and correct in relation to the same vacationers. Mat will not help, as elsewhere, rudeness and rudeness are not liked in Tunisia either. It’s enough just to treat people with respect and initially warn that you don’t need their help-))))

Oh, girls, thanks .. I'll think)

I'll even say more))) in mid-September I'm going to go to Tunisia again!! And one!!! And I know that only mega-positive emotions await me from a beautiful, sunny country and communication with beautiful and friendly Tunisians!!!!

I love Tunisia very much, I have been there many times, the last 3 times alone. I like to communicate with people, travel around the country myself, no one grabs by the hand, doesn’t drag anywhere, everyone smiles, always ready to help ... Tomorrow I’m flying there alone again)
аватар pol_tatjana
Well, they reassured me a little ... My daughter left alone (blonde, 31 years old), I'm worried.

Tunisians are not too concerned people! I agree with the previous answers, you will not be left without attention, but this attention is not so much from lust, but from curiosity. It is better, of course, to play it safe and find a company, at least a couple of people. And I went with a friend, no one stole us, didn’t offend us, I’m just in love with Tunisians, I want to return there as soon as possible!))

I agree completely. I visited a year ago with 2 friends. We made friends with local guys and went to discos without any problems! They showed respect and none of them bothered us. Just talking and relaxing. There, the locals show interest in principle, they talk to you on the street, but you don’t feel lust (especially in Egypt) from them. The people are civilized.
And now the question arose to go on vacation alone, and I decided that it would be Tunisia :))) because even though it is a Muslim country, the people are friendly and I will feel very comfortable there. So back in a week :)

I don't know foreign languages. Is it possible to communicate in Tunisia in Russian?
