The Sahara is definitely very cool. Along the way, there will be the El Jem amphitheater mentioned above. There is also a place - the island of Djerba, this is a unique place in Tunisia, a completely different nature, the best vacation, you can also see. And near Sousse there is Port el Kantaoui, go for a walk on your own. It's strictly a must! I consider all other excursions in Tunisia to be secondary, let other tourists not be offended.

You can still go to Monastir on your own - see the fortress and mausoleum of Bourguiba. It's a local train - the metro, as they call it - about 30 minutes. I don't remember the price, but it's not expensive.
