Of course, we were delighted, BUT, returning to the review of the Thalassa Village Skanes 4 * hotel, it was their fault that a room was not booked for us on the day of arrival. The next day, promises about the opportunity to stay in the first hotel were dispelled and we, along with 10 other tourists, were brought to this hotel. To be honest, the first 2 days everything was going well, but gradually we began to notice that the service at the hotel was no good.
Firstly, some of the waiters wear ordinary T-shirts with the hotel logo, some in white shirts, but both are dirty, stained, I don’t even want to imagine the smell ...(
Secondly, the all-inclusive system did not operate throughout the hotel.
During breakfast, lunch and dinner, in order to drink a faceted GLASS of wine (note that glasses and other appropriate containers are not provided), it was necessary to wait half an hour until the waiter came up to you and she poured wine for 2 dinars. There was also free wine - half a glass, and in order to get an addition, you need to chase the waiter and watch him pour wine with a disgruntled face, spilling it on the tablecloth.
Third, salt and pepper. these two uncomplicated products were not on all tables, tourists, and we, among other things, walked between the tables and asked the vacationers for salt and pepper for a couple of minutes.
4- you can not sit at every table. If you see a table on which there are all cutlery, snacks, napkins, there is a bottle of water and a waiter with a towel on his hand is grazing nearby, then someone paid from 3 to 5 dinars for it. And this is with the system all inclusive.
5 - also not without incidents.
5 times I shouted to the waiter to bring at least a napkin, well, for one he poured wine, after 20 minutes of waiting, he opened a bottle of wine in front of my nose and put it on the table with such force that I thought that the bottom of the bottle would break off. Naturally, part of the drink spilled onto the "snow-white" tablecloth. We spoke with the administrator about this topic. In their defense, it was said that today there are few waiters and they do not have time to serve everyone. At the same time, this rude waiter swam around the hall, approached a pretty girl, began to massage her shoulders while she was eating, talked with some kind of Arab child, took him on a tour of the hall while his parents finished their dinner ...terrible behavior... I don't even know what to add.
6- there are 4 restaurants on the territory of the hotel (Italian cuisine, Tunisian cuisine, European cuisine and a fish restaurant).
I want to note that even though the hotel has an all-inclusive system, you can only eat in 2 of the four restaurants for the entire trip, and then hurry up to sign up on the first day of rest, because places are taken apart quickly. There is a boy sitting in the lobby of the hotel who can do all this. But be patient, because although the hours of work are indicated, you are unlikely to find him on the spot - he flirts with tourists and is in no hurry to work. We managed to sign up for dinner on the last day in an Italian restaurant (there were no places in the rest)
7-Italian restaurant is a separate story of our trip. This is an open-air canteen where a cook in a dirty keel puts salad on plates with his hands without gloves! ! ! at the sight of this, I did not touch the salad. The second course is pasta. And in fact, pasta with tomato paste, even without spices and without any additives. I just tried this dish and put it aside. And I completed this "chic dinner" ...I don't even know what to call it. .
on one plate: undercooked rice that crunches on the teeth, french fries (which is also very Italian) and some deep-fried meat without any sauce - so simple, in dry food. With alcohol, the same story: the first glass is free, and then prepare the money.
8- I don’t know, maybe the sun has a strange effect on me, but neither I nor my husband have ever got drunk during the trip, although we could drink 20 glasses of whiskey per evening per person ...strange non-alcoholic alcohol.

Also pay attention to the punctuality of local residents. If they say that the bus will arrive at 12:00, then it is better to come 10 minutes earlier, because it can leave before 12:00, but this does not mean at all that you will be lucky not to wait for this same bus 20, or even 30 minutes...

Of course, there are also advantages:
For example, the hotel has very good animation. The group of animators works from 10 am to 2 am.
The program includes aqua aerobics, water polo, gladiator fights in the pool, dances, quests, a show program, karaoke, discos, foam parties, yoga and there is a separate program for the little ones.
The territory of the hotel is very large - there is where to walk.
They offer a lot of various excursions (not very expensive).

Of course, it all depends on the personal perception of what is happening and the environment, so it's up to you!
Have a nice holiday!

The animation is the best I have ever seen. It was interesting and fun for everyone!
They are fed 6 times, but we skipped 2 breakfast, afternoon tea and late dinner at the pizza restaurant, because it is impossible to eat so much. The food is amazingly varied: seafood, poultry, beef, salads, vegetables, fruits, pastries, dairy products. . .
The beach is clean, lots of sun loungers and umbrellas.
P. S. If you are in the mood for a good holiday, don't let negative reviews scare you! The hotel is wonderful!! !

Couple + child 15 years old. They gave me a 4-bed room on the 3rd floor of the 3-story building farthest from the reception. We wanted to change, but after walking around the territory, we realized that from the 1-storey bungalows that make up the main room stock of the hotel, we would not be able to see the sea from the window. In addition, the rooms there turned out to be much smaller than ours, and the terraces with table-chairs and clotheslines went straight to the street, where people walk and roam. Therefore, we were satisfied with our quiet and peaceful room, from where we could not hear the night disco. And to take a walk for breakfast or to the beach along the crooked streets between the bungalows lined with flowers and palm trees is only a joy. The territory of the hotel is monitored, they try, but in the local climate they obviously fail to do it perfectly. The grass on the lawns is scorched, although bushes, palm trees and flowers, more or less, create beauty and comfort.
The hotel itself is located somewhere in the middle between Sousse and the Monastery. Near only neighboring hotels, there is nowhere to go. By taxi to Sousse 8-15 dinars, to the Monastery - 5-10 (as you bargain). The hotel has a lot of French, Italians, Poles, English. A few Germans, Russians, Czechs. Very few Arabs and blacks. The staff communicates in Arabic/French (mandatory), in the bars and at the reception they understand English, the cleaners do not understand English at all. It did not cause any particular problems: smiles, gestures, international words and the desire to find a common language decide everything. Learn a few words in Arabic and you will immediately be treated differently. Animators speak all languages except Russian. There are separate animators even for the Poles. This is especially true for children. The hotel has a kids club, separate meals, a swimming pool and animation for the little ones. Therefore, a lot of families rest here. There are sports and game animation.
We had enough evening dances and shows (here the language is almost not needed).

Tipping is encouraged, but not required. But if you feed the staff, then the rest will be much more pleasant. So for 2-4 dinars a day, a table for lunch and dinner was already served, wine, water, juice, beer appeared as soon as we asked. The waiter constantly offered wine to the room (we refused, which surprised him greatly), and at parting he still handed us a bottle of wine with him as a souvenir. Cleaning was done only if you leave the dinars on the nightstand and hang the right sign on the door. Other combinations did not work)) Nothing was missing from the room. Towels were changed a couple of times.

The beach is being removed. There are enough sun loungers and mattresses, but they are already old, broken and worn out in places. But everything is free. Just like Fanta Cola Sprite at the beach bar. The beach itself is quite spacious. You could always find a place. Probably because foreigners almost all hung out near the pools.
Here, even in the morning, taking sunbeds, and even under umbrellas, is a big problem. Pools are small, no slides. One is for active swimming, diving and aqua aerobics, the second is smaller for children and family splashing. There are also a couple of frogs. Near the pools bar with diluted free drinks. In general, I did not understand where they could buy a drink. Everything was poured into a bowl. But you could leave a tip and then the cocktail will be mixed to you better.

Particular attention is paid to sports and dance animation. We mostly danced in the evenings and watched dance shows. Animation team - colorful boys of different nationalities 20-30 years old. Girls, ladies and mothers are delighted! The men are resting while their halves are dancing with the pros)) The guys are very friendly, groovy, cheerful. Everything is easy, with humor, unobtrusively. If you don't want to, they don't touch you. You can rest as you wish.

Separately, a few words about the Russians.
It seems like they don't like it there. Not only in the hotel, in general in Tunisia. And, in principle, they can be understood. The hotel is calm, everything is slow, with a smile, unobtrusively. But if we heard screams, scandals, drunken voices, showdowns with the administration or the hotel guide - all this was guess what language? ((It became a little ashamed of ours. Several times, when the Arabs detected our Russian, the only thing that saved the situation was the explanation that we were from Ukraine and speak English. The attitude changed before our eyes. Nobody likes boors and brawlers. So draw your own conclusions. In general Well, people in Tunisia are very friendly.

In general, we liked everything. Could have been better? Probably yes, but we have no regrets. The main thing on vacation is the mood and you don’t need to strain yourself over trifles. Recommend? Certainly.

A la carte restaurants can not be visited as the menu is the same as in the general restaurant. Animation though in French was on top. But the cleaning isn't very good. Strange but true, they left the dollar, they didn’t remove it and the dollar evaporated, they didn’t leave the dollar, they didn’t remove it either, they forgot to put paper, towels, shower gels. Sometimes the Poles were noisy, But in general the hotel is not bad.

We stayed at this hotel from June 25 to July 9.2011. with tour operator Newstravel. The tour operator is bad, no one met us, and the tour operator Tui took us to the hotel. In addition, the plane (Tunisian airlines) fed disgusting. Therefore, if possible, grab something to eat. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised by the absence of the usual bureaucratic red tape at the border, they let us into the country quickly, free of charge and pleasantly. Well, let's start with the most important thing - the sea!
The sea is not very warm and dirty. In the first two days the sea was very rough and muddy. Then everything returned to normal, but the turquoise water promised in the travel agency was never seen, except for 6 in the morning for several days (at this time the sea is clean and calm). After lunch, it is not possible to swim: algae float, a wave rises and sand rises, so the sea becomes brown, and near the shore there is a dense strip of “impenetrable” seaweed. Another important detail: everyone says that the jellyfish season starts at the end of July, BUT we noticed jellyfish (both small and large) that sting very painfully. My child was stung by a jellyfish 2 times, white blisters popped up, but after you anoint him with ointment and drink an antihistamine, everything goes away within an hour. Locals advise rubbing the bite with a tomato and applying ice, but we didn’t do this, so we don’t know if it helps or not. A big plus is the flat sandy bottom and moderate depth, in this respect it is comfortable to swim. The sea is at its optimal temperature, when the sun is 50 C, the sea is very refreshing.
Beach. Big, clean, constantly cleaned. There are enough sun loungers for everyone, but if you want to lie near the sea, then you need to come at about 6.00-7.00 in the morning. The beach worker takes sunbeds early in the morning, and then when foreigners come at 10.00-11.00 in the morning, he offers them, of course, for a fee!! ! But there was enough space on the beach for everyone at any time. From 10.00 on the beach a bar with a standard set began to work.
The rooms are not old, but not new - normal. Posted without any additional payment, although the number was far from civilization, they were immediately upset, and then they realized that this was better. the disco rattles and people go all night (they leave, then they come). At least we didn't, but there was some kind of commercial disco across the fence, where the music was blaring all night. From ours, i. e. the last room to the reception to go about 5 minutes, and to the beach 7-10 minutes. ATTENTION! Take shower gels and shampoos with you. this luxury is put in the room only once upon check-in!!! ! There is a hair dryer in the room, but it worked intermittently: overheated - did not work; then worked again.
Nutrition. Good, varied and fresh. Breakfasts are mostly monotonous, an ordinary breakfast like in hotels in Turkey and Egypt, but lunches and dinners were not repeated in one week. Two national dishes are served for every lunch and dinner. About the waiters: you need to immediately find contact with the waiter (we gave 1 dollar) then you will always have what you usually drink on the table. In general, the system is so-so because wine is poured in half a glass and in general all drinks are served in glasses. The restaurant is large with several halls, so there is enough space for everyone at any time. Water is issued on cards (1 bottle per 1 room), upon arrival you are given 7 cards, then when you run out of cards, you will be given 7 more at the reception without any problems, no matter how long you came for 10 or 14 days. In addition, water can be bought at the hotel shop.
You can get to Sousse and Monastir on your own by taxi or by bus. A taxi costs 8 dinars (1 dollar = 1.36 dinars), a bus 1 or 1.5 dinars. The taxi is absolutely safe, the driver will be waiting for you at the agreed place, he will give you a short tour, but agree on the price right away. ATTENTION! You need to go to these cities before or after lunch. at 20.00 everything closes, including the market and shops, BUT in Port El Kantaoui (a taxi back and forth costs 36 dinars) you need to go only after dinner, active life begins there only at 19.00. Currency exchange is carried out at the hotel. in the city it is problematic to do so. They change in large stores, but they do not take banknotes issued before 2000, there are no such problems at the hotel. In Porto El Kantaoui, there is an interesting singing fountain with color music and an amusement park (there is an interesting ferris wheel here, but it’s better to ride it when it’s light to see the city, but don’t come before 17.00 because the amusement park is still closed). Buy souvenirs in the cities because in duty free all tourist goods are much more expensive.
I wish you all a pleasant holiday!! !

The only downside was there was no fridge in the room. And so I really liked the rest... the waiters are very friendly, and for a bottle of Russian Vodka they will set the tables for you and bring the food themselves !! ! I liked Tunisia more than Turkey, where the sea is different. The sea is just super for children, 150 meters it is shallow and very beautiful. Of course, the price of the question is, who paid how much for the tours, maybe if I paid about 100 thousand rubles for the tours, I would look for flaws, but for a moderate amount, just super!!! "

The room is simple, the bathroom is covered with yellow oil paint: ) the faucet fell off while taking a shower: ))

If you want a safe - payment is 35 dinars for 12 days, a deposit for the key is 20 dinars.
If you want a beach towel - a deposit of 10 dinars.
If you want a remote control for the air conditioner - a deposit of 10 dinars.
If you want a TV remote control - a deposit of 10 dinars.
There is no minibar.
Refrigerator - 5 dinars per day.

The food is bad, very monotonous, "fresh" vegetables smell stale, indigestion has become a daily reality for me. Only watermelons were delicious : ))) but we also have them worth a penny.

There was fish every day (very bony, I was told that it was red mullet), but seafood ended there.

They cleaned the rooms strangely, every day I ran after my aunts for towels - the room will be cleaned, 3 clean unused towels will be taken away, but they don’t put new ones. Save on gels and shampoos.
During the daytime, I hung a "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door of the bungalow in 5 languages, starting from Arabic - aunts do not read: )) knock: ))

The park is beautiful, oleanders are blooming, some other bushes, jasmine smells at night (it blooms at night), beautiful palm trees.

The beach is nothing, but I got it out of season - in August, the season of jellyfish, which are just dark and sting painfully. Out of 12 days, she swam 2 days, the rest of the days she went into the sea up to the bones, maximum up to her knees, and splashed herself with water from the sea. Not only meters of dirty algae were carried to the shore, but also garbage - napkins, bags, wrappers, and to clean water (but with jellyfish !! ! !

And about the beach - a strip of 150 meters, 5 Arabs walk along it in single file with an interval of 5-10 meters, and aggressively yell "Halyo - halyo - halyo - pare-o - pareo - halyo - halyo !! ! ! ", hours up to 6 evenings.
They regularly drive camels, which smell very good, drive horses, ride horses, and what remains after the horses? That's right, what. And what do they do with what? That's right, leave to lie.

Therefore, most tourists rested by the pool - at 06:30 it was already difficult to take a sunbed by the pool umbrella. Please note.
On the beach at 7 am, half of the sunbeds were occupied with towels, but people rowed up to them by 11 o'clock, not earlier.

But the animation worked well, people were entertained, competitions were held, songs and dances - so if you are going to rest in Tunisia for animation, you will like it. But no one knows Russian there : ) it's better to speak French, although some of the staff even know a couple of phrases in English.
If you want, they will draw you a henna tattoo.
There was water aerobics.

SPA center sucks. No massage, money down the drain.

Internet, 5 dinars for access (5 minutes or an hour - it doesn't matter) doesn't work - lazy Arabs stupidly don't import access cards : )))
The staff is openly very eager for either sex if you are a girl, or money for everything if you are a man: )))
The ideas about time, work and the quality of paid services are very different between us and the Arabs. Wait one minute - wait one minute - lasts normally 15-20 minutes.

It is not at all necessary to take a taxi to Sousse and Monastir - until late at night, except from 6 to 9 pm in Ramadan, minibuses run very well, the price is 1 dinar. But at the reception they will not tell you about it: ))) They will even help you to call - to Monastir 10-12 dinars, to Sousse up to 15 dinars.

The choice is yours.

Good luck everyone! ! !

I liked the lunches - 1 type of soup, 2 types of meat, 2 types of fish, pasta, rice, french fries, 2 types of stewed vegetables, fresh salads could be more varied: tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, cabbage, carrots, the rest is not for Russians, olives, olives are not tasty, few sauces. Always 1 kind of fruit-changed: pears, melons, apples, peaches, grapes glad, watermelon. 2 kinds of sweet. Dinner, to some extent, repeated lunch. There were more desserts. For dinner they gave shrimp, squid, octopus, more fish. BUT, in general, I liked the dinners less. There was no holiday feeling.
There is simply no service in the restaurant - I did not see a manager who would monitor the timely change of dishes on the buffet, the availability of dishes. Therefore, queues were constantly created and Soviet canteens were recalled. I counted as many as 6 waiters for 400 vacationers. At the end of our holiday, most of the tourists left, % 50 remained - everything was enough for everyone.

In the main bar, tables were not cleaned, the tables on the terrace even in the mornings remained dirty in the evening.

The room was cleaned well - they left 1 dinar 1 time in 3 days. The service at the hotel was very reminiscent of the rest in the good Soviet times - (to be in time, otherwise it won’t get it - frankly radrazhalo) those who wish can get a bite !!!

The beach is one of the best in the SKANES area, BUT THE SEA AND THE BEACH is no better, and maybe worse than the beaches of Odessa and the Odessa region, where in the summer even after a storm there is not so much algae in the sea.
Bottom line: choose a bungalow-type hotel in the Souss-el Kataoui area with all inc / where you can go out into the city. In Skanes, you can only walk along the coast towards Monastir and towards Sousse.
I liked Tunisia, I recommend it, decide for yourself about the hotel.

The territory is really green like in a park, but you will not see a blooming garden with the smell of jasmine here. The first impression is a typical Soviet-era boarding house of the 70-80s. Everything is quite simple and without frills. Mallorca number 1 put 5 - better than 4 * in the bungalows of Egypt and Turkey. Animation - not professionals, but the guys work all day, entertain - for young people it's the most.
The organization of food let us down - the cook cooks well, but you are constantly waiting for something - the meat is over, then the salad. There are not enough dishes, cups, glasses, spoons. , excellent espresso and cappuccino, only served, unfortunately, in plastic cups. The sea in September is very scary, we swam in the pool, the beach is cleaned, it’s quite clean, but there are a lot of people. I really liked Tunisia thanks to excursions to the Sahara and Tunisia-Carthage.
And so I think that Tunisia in September is not for a beach holiday.
