The number is of course a different story, it's not even 3 *. Three days later, 2 clean towels disappeared from our room. Of course, for a long time we could not understand where they were, but when 2 girls (Algerians or locals - who can figure them out) entered the room that was locked, as it turned out to be the next room and, apparently, the key came up to our doors, looked at my husband smiled and closed the door. This of course was the last straw. We went to the reception and realized that if you do not know English, then no one will help you, because in Russian they only know how to ask for money. They took us to the director, who also does not know Russian, and when I asked him to change the lock in the room, he replied that this was not possible. He said that he might move us to another room tomorrow, so we slept propping the door with a stool.
So in 10 days my husband and I were poisoned 2 times, the local doctor sold us pills 3 times more expensive than they were in the pharmacy. Animation is of course rubbish, 9 people who really do nothing, it was the worst animation I have seen, and the worst thing is that it was repeated every other day. When there was a heavy downpour, our balcony was flooded, but as I later realized walking along the corridor and watching how people were sitting under the door, their rooms were also flooded, the water stood on the stairwells and in the corridors.
But my biggest disappointment was the sea and the beach, the city beach is not closed, on which there are a lot of locals, they pee and poop right under the stairs that lead to the sea, the stench is incredible there, there is no shower, no bar, no animation on the beach not even music. The sea is dirty, bags, wrappers from chocolates and bottles - this is what you can find in it, when you dived with a mask, you saw only garbage at the bottom, there are almost no fish. I think for another 10 years and no one will fly there, because the Tunisians overrule their sea, that it will even be scary to swim in it.
In general, for that kind of money, I would fly to Sharm to the Tropitel hotel and live in a bungalow with chic. They clean up badly, regardless of whether you give tea or not, if you give a dollar, they will leave you 2 mints, but the towels will not be changed, but simply folded neatly, the bed linen is stained and hairy, and it also smelled strongly of bleach. There were only 2 sockets in the room - one for the telly and another 1 in the bathroom. But as it turned out, we still had a good room, since we had air conditioning and a balcony - many didn’t even have that.
Well about the rest. There are also problems with the settlement - although I went on vacation not to look for flaws. And every day at the reception there are scandals with the settlement. Only the next day, our tour operator TUI moved to a normal room.
Food - a lot, but it was not particularly tasty, not counting ice cream - I ate it. Of course you won't go hungry, but. . .
The sea is gentle and warm. But the beach was cleaned by vacationers.
In general, I do not recommend this hotel, and do not recommend it myself.
The animators are great fellows, pleasant guys in all respects, they entertain both children and adults all day long.
The bartenders are also great guys, they approach their work with humor.
The food is generally good, but you will not see a large number of different dishes every day. But in general, everything is delicious, fresh products, in short, you will not stay hungry.
The rooms, of course, are not cleaned very well, the bed linen is not hot white, towels too... Sometimes there is an unpleasant smell of sewerage in the rooms, then it disappears...
In short, if you go to Tunisia without any pretensions to a glamorous vacation, you can safely choose this hotel.
If you want to relax like a king, you definitely don’t come here, and probably not even to Tunisia at all, because it’s really dirty everywhere. However, for a week you can treat this as a local color, relax, enjoy the sun and not think about anything bad, not look for flaws (they are everywhere). We always make our own holidays!
Weather: Tunisia is not Egypt. Strong winds are very common, in June the sea is cold no higher than 21C. It is better to fly to Monastir not earlier than the second half of June, when the weather becomes warm and not in August (full of jellyfish).
Sea: transparent, but a lot of algae and jellyfish (strongly bite).
Beach: all beaches are public, very dirty, around pieces of paper, cigarette butts, garbage. The hotel beach is separated from this horror by a small rope, but it is cleaner (an oasis among the garbage). The beach is sandy, with small children super. The reef, which is on the beach, is good only from afar. It is completely "occupied" by local divers, and there is a lot of garbage, like everywhere else.
Hotel: rooms for a solid four, but this is if you are accommodated in the Dolphin, and not in the neighboring Habit 3 star hotel. Our brother is being fooled by offering $5. per day a room with a sea view, and if you do not agree, they give a number in the top three. But if you are indignant, everything can be solved even without additional payment. The hotel smokes everywhere, this is a feature of the local population, which is very annoying. There are 2 pools, there are also for the smallest ones, slides, animation are also present. The food is not bad, no frills, but meat, fish, vegetables and fruits are full.
General conclusion: you can go to the hotel, the main thing is not to miscalculate with the weather.
The overwhelming majority of vacationers are Ukrainians and Russians, foreigners are no more than 5%. The hotel is family run, mostly couples with children.
In principle, the location of the hotel is VERY advantageous. It is a 5-minute walk to the medina, and a gorgeous panorama opens from the beach: blue, clear, clear sea and an ancient fortress. It is impossible not to fall in love with this view.
I advise you not to sit in the hotel, but take the opportunity and visit Sousse, Tunisia, the remains of Carthage, Sidi Bou Said and, of course, the Colosseum. Yes, and the Monastery is a picturesque city,
Regarding the hotel. Convenient location, proximity to the airport (15 minutes) is a plus. BUT there are some minor cons...the hotel is a bit shabby. Needs cosmetic repairs. Although the area itself is very clean and tidy. Two pools. The rooms are cleaned ...poorly. And the beach would do well to be cleaned more carefully. Meals are also 4. For breakfast, eggs, dairy products, cereals, pastries. I would like to see more fruits and vegetables in the morning.
Lunch and dinner are varied. There is something. But without the WOW effect.
The staff is friendly! If you leave a tea to the waiters at the buffet, a reserved table will be waiting for you daily, with your favorite wine and flowers! And then our people come to all inclusive and "circle me, circle me. "
In a word, if you have chosen this hotel, do not create unnecessary illusions about luxury holidays.
No need to go and pose as an auditor. Just enjoy the beautiful panoramas of fabulous Tunisia! )
Check in for the flight yourself! Very rare seats and tall people have to suffer! We got the "coolest" places near the toilet. It was hell. The smell and cleanliness of the toilet leaves much to be desired
We arrived early at 6 am. Check-in 14:00 For a room with a sea view, they asked at the reception for $ 5 per day, we paid $ 50, we wanted to sleep terribly! We were taken to the first room without a balcony with 3 beds (why? ) and a view of the Habib dolphin's indoor pool (where the ticket was), we did not stay in the room and went down to the reception again. Next, we were taken to a standard room with a sea view, walked for a long time to the room . . as it turned out later, this is a 3 * dolphin resort hotel. On the plus side, the animation is not so audible and the view was really on the sea, as well as an excellent wi-fi signal in the lobby (there is no signal anywhere else), but the street is lively and you can hear the sound from motorcyclists especially! Transport starts moving from 6 in the morning, and only a curtain blows from the window and saves, which has not been washed since the opening of the hotel. Elevators broke down intermittently, use the stairs. Cleaning was the first 5 days. The cleaner is not shy and hints at additional payment for cleanliness and butterflies from your things on the bed. Dust everywhere! Rusty bathtub and dirty mirrors. The towels are the same as the curtains) old and washed out. We took from home and did not regret it. Water from under the edges flows salty from the sea. Hair becomes like straw and there is no feeling of freshness in principle. Take your own shampoo, they give only soap) and some don’t even give it.
I was especially impressed with the salty coffee from the snack bar, as I later realized the bartender uses sea water in the coffee machine. Take closed bottled water at the bar, only it can be used for domestic needs, honestly. In the snack bar you can eat hot dogs (chicken inside)
Food. Delicious ice cream and white wine. Rosé wine (as we have seen) is simply made when the bartender mixes red and white. We drank sprite and water, very remotely reminiscent of what is on the mainland. Lamb meat, camel meat and beef. Delicious baguette bread, but it periodically falls and the waiters pick it up from the floor and put it back. Take a new one from the cart.
The physiotherapist is a tin. He is not just obsessive, sticky like a leech. We took a hammam and a relaxing massage. Hamam is dirty, and massage is not for everyone. The first time I saw a masseuse with such a manicure . . and when she started pouring oil into my hair and plucking my hair, I didn’t get relaxation. I wanted to give money to end it all!
The market comes to the hotel once a week. Bargain . . but in general they will deceive you anyway. Change money at the bank, sometimes there is not enough money for the reception (in fact, there is enough of them, they just won’t give you more) went to the market and to three shops. Here I can only advise you to dress like Muslims so that everything is closed. Butter and halva were bought at the supermarket.
A separate conversation about a cook from a hotel who attacks on the street and complains about his share and asks for money. Don't trust him and move on.
It is impossible to export local currency from Tunisia! Change limited.
We rode in a carriage, went to the guard fortress entrance 7 dinars (there is a beautiful view of the city from above, go) and went to the Marina, I also liked it.
The sea and the beach are dirty, but it is clear that they are trying to make it cleaner before the season . . for me it's just laziness. The guide said that there was a revolution, the result - the refusal of residents in 2013 from garbage collection. What the hell? ! Well, how pleasant it is to live in it ourselves . . remove the garbage and there will be more tourists!
From the excursions we visited the Phrygia Zoo, where for 10 carrots they took 4 Dinars from us (we fed the deer cubs), and also fed the giraffe (it was exciting, also 10 dinars), and then there was a Zulu show, where you are photographed with an African, regardless of your desire. 10 dinars is worth picking up a printed photo. It was reminiscent of a cheap wedding in a tent, they brought us in like cattle and planted us where they needed to. Further, drunken Russian women tried to take pictures with the participants of the show, which is forbidden. Well, in general - look at this spectacle))
Mom went to Carthage. She said that there merchants attack tourists! Do not buy anything and do not show money! The building itself is impressive and worth seeing.
The curator of the anex suggested attending the festival organized by the Tunisian Ministry of Tourism. Is free. We went with 6 other people. They promised a closed pavilion and a fair, as well as an accompanying guide. In fact, we were brought to a wasteland, there were 10 tents with goods with their own hands, and the Arabs had a lot of them, they tried to touch us and shouted, pointing with their fingers. The driver dropped us off at the beginning of the street and left without explaining anything (how long the event was, where to go, where the guide was, where our bus would be). We walked along the street and saw 10 tents; 3 times we went back and forth (but the prices are called more expensive for tourists) and without buying anything, we stood in a close circle, I can’t put into words all the horror that I experienced. Further (apparently taking pity) we were found by the Bus Driver and we were with him for some time, as it began to get dark, he took us to the hotel, after our requirements. The curator of the anex spread her hands and did not explain this incident in any way.
On the bus, no one raised their hands, after the question, and who is in Tunisia for the second time. Draw your own conclusions.
