Rested in Tunisia for the first time in the city of Manastir. We arrived late in the evening. Before checking in, we were invited to have dinner. Dinner consisted of three salads, sandwiches and water. After we were settled in the right wing of the hotel at the very end of the corridor. The horror began when we entered the room. It was dirty and dusty, very old furniture, plumbing, the TV did not work, and worst of all, there was no water coming into the toilet and the view from the room rested on the water park. The spectacle was not the best. Already at two o'clock in the morning, explaining all the horrors of the room, we were given a choice of two, no better than the previous one, but with water in the toilet bowl. Not only we got into this situation, but also a group of Russian tourists who flew in with us. In the morning we started a riot and tried to get good numbers. The hotel representatives brazenly demanded an extra charge for rooms with a sea view, but we did not give up. With grief on the floor, we have achieved our goal.
We were placed in the left wing, but I assure you that the rooms are not much better. We were welcomed by the old furniture but there was a clean and living feel to the space. And now I'll tell you about the services of the hotel. The rooms were not cleaned regularly. Sometimes there were no towels. I had to go to reception. The linen is very old and stained. The restaurant, the so-called dining room, simply did not pull on four stars. Cutlery and plates were very often dirty, they did not wipe the tables after the visitors, but simply shook napkins on the floor, new cutlery was laid out on them again. Paper napkins were worth their weight in gold. They put on one napkin.
As for food, it can be called non-waste production. What is not eaten for breakfast is processed and served for lunch. There was rarely anything tasty. I will say that they have good desserts. Sometimes they gave shrimp, three pieces per person. For dishes cooked on the grill, you had to stand in a long queue. It is very difficult for a Russian person to live with such food. I can't imagine what the parents of small children fed. . . Sanitary standards in the canteen were not respected. In bars, drinks were poured into plastic containers. An even more disgusting sight was the collection of them by employees along the beach and hotel grounds, and even from the trash cans. They washed the glasses, treated them with bleach and poured them again. We had to go with our own glasses.
I would also like to note that this is not a hotel, but a passage courtyard. Locals flock to the hotel to swim in the pool and on the beach, and on weekends they are settled. Their rules and norms of behavior are far from ours. There are sooo many of them. If you don't want to ruin your vacation, then this hotel is definitely not for you! I do not recommend!

We decided to go to Tunisia at the end of September, as we got tired of the city heat over the summer. I wanted a comfortable temperature and warm sea. But Tunisia met us with a strong hurricane and heavy rain. And for 10 days there was terrible weather for several days. The wind from the sea brought algae and debris, the edge of the beach turned into a dump, which was useless to clean up, although they tried.

Now in order. There are no complaints about Azur-air and Anex-tour. Everything was clear and without delay almost. Thanks for the coordinated work.
The hotel itself is a solid pompous building with a glass dome and columns. The contingent is the French, Germans, Poles and Czechs. Russians, thank God, are few. Retirees, young couples with children. The audience is educated and pleasant. The atmosphere in the hotel is very inviting. Tunisians, unlike the Egyptians, are friendly and not arrogant people. Nobody asks for Baksheesh.
Wifi is very weak. We were only able to contact the family via viber once. I had to buy a local SIM card for $10. And it is very strange in our time that there is no normal Internet connection.
The territory is small, but green and clean. The beach is also nice, probably in season. But the sea is shallow. Ebb and flow. Fans of swimming are clearly not here.
The rooms are standard. Cosmetic repairs, furniture is strong. The bathroom has outdated tiles and fixtures. First, we (me, daughter and grandson 3.5) were given a room without a balcony, where the window rested against the wall. The next day they changed. But it turned out that at night there was an open disco under the windows. We did not sleep half the night, we moved to the third room. But then the disco was canceled, because in the morning foreigners made a scandal. They didn't sleep either. In general, Tunisians give preference to the French. All are fluent in French. Former colony. But if you are friendly and say a few words in French, then the attitude will be wonderful. Although we are not talking about rudeness in relation to ours.
As for the kitchen. There was a lot of meat. Even a rabbit. But often harsh. It seems that the cook did not have the patience to stew and boil everything well. However, you could choose. Try to take meat without bones. Anything with bones is hard. There were practically no fish and seafood. And this is strange for a sea country. There is no separate children's menu as such. And this is also a miscalculation.
In general, if you are lucky with the weather, then a good option for a relaxing holiday. Children are good here too. Yellow sand, shallow sea.
But if you are unlucky with the weather - it does not matter. You can go to Sousse. There is nothing to do in Monastir. In the evenings, the animators organized dance evenings in the large hall. Everyone danced, even pensioners. The animation is excellent, and there were entertainments for children, and for people of all ages.
The hotel as a whole pulls for its 4 stars. But with a little effort and not so much money, you can make the hotel much better. The hotel has good potential.

Not the worst 4**** in the Monastir area I’ll write right away, we were during Ramadan, so the disco didn’t work, although in recent days they started cleaning there... Here is a piece of advice: if you really want to go to Tunisia (I realized after the trip that it’s quite possible to skip this country) - I recommend going north, at least to Hamamet (deeper, cleaner sea; more greenery.

The cuisine is weak, perhaps due to the fact that the hour of our holiday in the country was Ramadan
The territory is large, clean

There were many families with small children
Internet only in the lobby
In general, the hotel is normal, but if you expect chic and antlers, it's not about him

I stayed at this hotel with my wife in July 2017. We got from the airport for about an hour. The hotel area is very beautiful, neatly trimmed lawn everywhere, beautiful palm trees and cacti. Upon arrival at about 11.00 at the reception, we were given to fill out tourist cards, we didn’t have time to sit down in the hall and start filling them out, when a pleasant and smiling young man, whose name is Amin, sat down next to us and helped us quickly do it.

Upon arrival at about 11.00 at the reception, we were given to fill out tourist cards, we didn’t have time to sit down in the hall and start filling them out, when a pleasant and smiling young man, whose name is Amin, sat down next to us and helped us quickly do it. Generally Amin is a real find for this hotel! He speaks good Russian and helps tourists in every possible way. You can always turn to him for any help - he will never refuse and advise where, how and what is best done. Even when he was unwell, he continued to work. We had a trouble - my wife lost her contact lenses and we didn’t even know where and how to buy new ones, but Amin, having learned about our problem, immediately took us to the city of Monastir, where he explained to the seller in the optics store what lenses we need. We are very grateful to this person. He also took us through the market. Without this person, the hotel simply will not be able to receive Russian-speaking tourists.
We checked into the room at about one in the afternoon, before that we were wearing bracelets, we left our luggage in a special room and went for a walk. We got a good room number 137. There is a large double bed, a TV with two Russian channels TNT and STS, air conditioning, a hairdryer, a safe (deposit for $ 10 at the reception) and a balcony overlooking the sea, and downstairs there is an amphitheater where entertainment programs were held in the evenings. I also liked that all the corridors of the hotel were filled with carpets. The room was cleaned and towels changed every day. The workers always smile and say hello.
The food at the hotel is simply amazing. There is an a la carte restaurant where you can sign up once for free. Three meals a day as a buffet. Lots of different dishes and sweets, wine and drinks are also poured. There are even high chairs for feeding the smallest children. Waiters fly like helicopters and instantly clean dirty dishes and wipe tables. You can dine both inside and outside. Also, upon check-in, you will be given coupons for bottled water, which can be obtained at the bar. From 10.00 to 23.00 there are three bars where you can take drinks, but we liked beer and wine the most, because. whiskey, vodka etc. strong drinks are very diluted, it is better to bring strong drinks with you. Also, the bartenders in these bars are reluctant to serve Russian-speaking tourists, they will first of all pour the French, Tunisians, and you stand and wait.
In the courtyard of the hotel there is a swimming pool where water aerobics and other games are held. To the sea to go two minutes leisurely. The hotel has its own beach, chic white sand, very warm, transparent and salty sea with a gentle entrance, deep only near the buoys. Fish swim everywhere, jellyfish are not met. There are hydroscooters, a banana, a tablet, a parachute, etc. Every day they clean the beach and loosen it with a rake. There are plenty of sunbeds, the only thing missing is soft mattresses for sunbeds.
The animators at the hotel are young and cheerful guys with a lot of energy, they entertain everyone all day and do not let anyone get bored. Especially Nino, Lorenzo and the Chief Animators at MaGui. They even walk along the beach, greet everyone and ask how things are going. They always rush about with children who adore them, and in the evening they hold an entertainment program, first for children, then for adults.
I also note that in the hotel some of the rooms overlook the night disco and many move to quieter rooms.
Wi-Fi is free, but only available in the lobby of the hotel. There is also beach volleyball, tennis and table tennis, air hockey and many other entertainments. There are small shops in the hotel lobby, there is an assembly hall where we went to the fakir show, which is very interesting.
In general, I recommend this hotel to everyone, next year we will definitely go there with the children.

So:
if you have Kyivstar, you are in for a surprise - it does not catch at all in Tunisia. Although it is declared on the site in roaming. Therefore, we suffered, running to call from the reception to the phone booth, as in the old Soviet times.
If you don’t know English at all, it will be difficult, because. no one speaks Russian from the staff. Therefore, I was an interpreter for us, and for those who arrived at the hotel with us at the same time.
The hotel is French-Polish, so they run on their hind legs in front of Europeans, and they don’t like Russians, Ukrainians and Belarusians, and they settle where they have to, even if you pay extra.
The room fund, in principle, is not bad. We had a good room (+20 dollars at the reception) But the view was still on a deserted area. Near the hotel. There is no refrigerator! Safe only at the reception and paid.
The sea is very clean and warm water. Cool fine white sand like flour. But the sea is too small to swim - 150 meters to go. There are crabs and stinging jellyfish - they pitied me. Fortunately, the jellyfish were only 2 days old.
The weather - we arrived, it was cloudy for half a day, then the sun. At the end it cleared up - +30 +32.
Food is not feng shui, of course, there is something to compare. As in the dining room. The assortment practically did not change. But you won’t stay hungry.
Excursions - we wanted to go to the mosaic museum in Bordeaux, it is included in the excursion to Carthage, but our hotel guide Aymen (Turtess + TUI) modestly kept silent that they had not been taking tourists to Bordeaux for a month, because. there is a strike nearby. So we only saw Carthage, our Chersonese is very good. similar.
I knew that the locals enter the territory of the hotel, but so impudently they swim in the pool, on sunbeds, arrange partying on the beach. And no one tells them anything - the country's policy is like that.
Therefore, it is better to consider another country. because Tunisia is definitely not worth that kind of money.
But despite these disadvantages, we had a good rest - we swam, got tanned, new impressions.
If you go to Tunisia, then on the island of Djerba, it will be better there!

The food is good, a lot of meat, fruits, sweets. the numbers are normal, though tv is 1 Russian channel rtr planet. The container works well. sun loungers are free, another minus is that the bar is far from the beach, it is right next to the pool, but we rested only near the sea. the sea is warmer. I didn't like the cups in which. they pour you a drink, they rinse them with water, the unsanitary conditions are terrible and they are small, they pour 2 drinks for 1 person, in short, they often ran for beer. smart people were with their 0.5l thermo mugs. but in general everything was wonderful, you can always find a negative, but the positive overlaps it. The hotel is good, you won't regret it. this is a family hotel

We arrived at the hotel around 2pm and check in was quick. Previously, we put $ 30 in the passport, for which we received a good room overlooking the hotel grounds. In general, of course, in terms of tip extortion, the hotel rules. Everyone, from receptionists to cleaners, wants money and is not going to move without it.
The rest of the hotel is good. The food is tasty and varied, during the day there are enough snacks and drinks so as not to remain hungry. The beach is comfortable, but the sea is small, though clean. I read that after storms there is a lot of algae, but on our arrival the weather was perfect. Sunbeds and umbrellas should be borrowed in advance if you do not want to lie on the sand for the whole vacation.

We rested in this hotel in Tunisia from 19/08 to 02/09. Very poor service and bad attitude towards tourists, despite the guide's assurance that Tunisia is actively developing tourism and attracting tourists.

This is not the first trip, we rested in different countries, including Egypt, Greece, Croatia, Montenegro, and I can say that Tunisia left the worst impressions. Very poor service and bad attitude towards tourists, despite the guide's assurance that Tunisia is actively developing tourism and attracting tourists.
In order about the hotel.
This is not 4 stars. The hotel needs renovation, the furniture and plumbing are old. Safe in the room and mini bar for a fee (and not only the contents of the mini bar, but also its rental, you will be provided with a mini fridge in the room with payment for each day of use). I’ll mention right away that in Tunisia in 3 * there is neither a hair dryer nor a TV. The TV is old, there is a Russian channel. Cleaning is superficial, towels are changed, and everything is taken away and brought in a few hours. Sometimes, coming from the sea, it was a problem to take a shower)) The sign "do not disturb" on the door does not mean anything, they will knock and come in. We changed the room, as they immediately give the most unfurnished rooms (if they didn’t give money at the reception), we had to quarrel. The staff does not speak Russian, English is bad, but you can find out everything. On the day of departure, towels and bedding will be taken from you at 10 o’clock, so don’t think about showering at 12.00))
The hotel is open to local residents, not only the beach and barbecue on the beach, but also the pool bar and the hotel grounds. Serving the orders of the locals, sometimes they forgot what they should cover for vacationers (according to the all-inclusive system, snacks are supposed to be in between main meals). The bartenders are not polite, the alcohol is terrible except beer and white and red wine. The bartenders sell alcohol if you need a bottle.
Meals - I liked the Tunisian cuisine, and the choice is good, they do not adhere to the strict time for breakfast, lunch and dinner, you can come a little later, and the food will still be in place. But the service in the dining room is gloomy, you had to look for knives and forks, salt and pepper on your own, no one will take you to the table and no one will rush to clean up after you and set the table for the next visitors. During dinner, the waiters try to quickly prepare the tables for breakfast, and there were even scandals that you sat down at a table already set for breakfast. In general, they need to train for a long time, there is no service.
Animation - very good, constantly invited to games, dances, in the evening a mini disco for children, then performances, or karaoke, and a disco. We are happy with the animation.
Sea - the hotel is suitable for children - the sea near the hotel is shallow, up to a depth of 30-40 meters, there is grass, there are small jellyfish, a lot of crabs and fish. During the day, there can be high and low tide several times, during low tide there is generally little water, but a lot of shells))) Water activities are available for everything from a scooter and a banana to a parachute. There are camels and horses to ride. There was a strong wind for a couple of days, a lot of algae and garbage are thrown onto the beach - they are cleaned, but not immediately and not often, still not very pleasant.
Were in the cities of Monastery and Sousse. I liked the monastery - Sousse - no - a dirty trading and port town. People cling, sometimes are rude, grab hands - everything is as usual in Africa))
As a result - I do not recommend this hotel, there was not a good residue from communication with the staff. Still, a hotel in Tunisia must be chosen very carefully, since everyone who was met on excursions was not happy with the hotels and they say that the attitude towards Russians is not friendly. The representative of the local operator recommended the RIO network.
Separately, I will express my disappointment to Turtesse - we have never had such a meeting and a terrible transfer. Aymen - a representative of the tour operator should not work in the tourism sector at all. It was not visible either when checking in or when leaving the hotel - one driver. Never came to the hotel at the time indicated on the information board until you call and ask to come (even to buy a tour) does not come at all. Too bad Turtess!
The hotel is not bad, very friendly staff. The food is excellent, the animation is SUPER. sister's room, they constantly removed the bedspread from the made bed and threw it on the armchair, having previously crumpled it. The sea is nearby, small, but very clean. and it’s very easy to burn out. And one more nuance, one of the Polish travel agencies bought vouchers there, there were a lot of Poles and by the end of our vacation, somehow there was more and more emphasis on their culture.

And so the hotel is good. Easy to get to Monastir (taxi 6 dinars, bus 52 rows from a stop of 50 millimeters (half a dinar)), not far from Sousse. The airport is nearby, though for some reason charters fly far to Enfidha, closer to Hammamet, and not to Monastir.
