Were several times with children 7 and 10 years old in Egypt, we think this year in Thailand. Tell me if it's worth changing the place of rest.

This is such a different vacation! Thailand - a riot of colors, spectacles, excursions. Usually a couple of pieces are included in the tour. Bangkok again!!! It will be hard for the kids. And you won’t go to the famous transvestite shows with them. And just to go to the beach - for this, Thailand is expensive and far away, in my opinion.
аватар ollennka
Watch how you relax. If the beach and vegetable all is inclusive with minimal leaving of the hotel, then there is no fundamental difference between Hurghada and Phuket, I don’t see the point in such a long flight, especially with children.
аватар Kolhoznic
The excursions that are included in the tour are not excursions! This is a "divorce of rabbits for grandmas." They take you to the shops. In addition to the shemale show in Thailand, there is a lot to see! The kids won't have a hard time. The climate is much milder than in Egypt. The same famous excursion "River Kwai" (only you need to take it from "Pegasus", because he rented the most interesting section of the river and this excursion is expensive, but interesting! And you can just "swim"! The most suitable the place for this is the hotel complex "Ambassador City" Private beach with clear sea, free sunbeds, umbrellas, deck chairs... Huge green area with swimming pools... Hotels for every taste and budget... Entertainment complex "Mimoza".. Lots of cafes... Massage parlors... And so on and so forth!!!

Again - from Thailand it is not a problem to drive to Cambodia to see Angkor Wat. It is somewhat more difficult for Ukrainians to cross the border to Cambodia, but it's worth it! You can fly to look at the "Golden Triangle".

Fly far. There are no hotels with All inclusive and animation in Tai - children will be bored. To swim in the clear sea, you need to relax on the islands - Samet, Koh Chang, Koh Samui. You can’t swim in Pattaya at all - there the sewerage from the hotels goes into the sea, the meeting tour operator will tell you about this on the very first day! In summer it is very hot and rainy. Although this winter was uncharacteristically rainy and the sea was stormy.
And most importantly - there is no such rich underwater world as in Egypt. It is good to fly to Thailand in winter and divide the tour into 2 parts: Pattaya - excursions, the island - a beach holiday. But for the children to be older, for now it will be stressful and not interesting for them.
Try Turkey, a big hotel with good children's animation. Just not Marmaris and Icmeler - all summer there is a cold sea of 19-20 degrees, due to mountain streams flowing into the sea.

kolkhoznik's answers are touching: to fly to the Golden Triangle, to Cambodia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is with children 10 and 11 years old! I'm not talking about the cost
аватар Kolhoznic
logvinova, they don't fly to Cambodia. They ride the bus. to Siem Reap. The cost of a two-day excursion is about 8,000 rubles. for two. And the "Golden Triangle" is not much more expensive. And the stories about the fact that "the sewerage from the hotels goes into the sea" do not stand up to scrutiny! Yes, in Thailand you can’t dive to explore the underwater world - there is a sand suspension in the water ... It’s hot in Thailand only in April-May ..

Aaah, rashatoudey!! What are you doing here? not enough websites?

In Bangkok - there is a huge Oceanarium and Sky Bayok. (look at Thailand from the 87th floor and ride in a glass elevator). This is the only interesting place for children in Bangkok.
Pattaya also has a Nong Nooch garden for children, a new water park in Pattaya, a fishing catamaran, a crocodile farm and a garden of millions of stones, a beautiful khao kheo zoo, where you can stroke any animals and feed them. Elephant village - you can ride elephants there (included in the price) and a wooden temple without a single nail. Mini Siam open-air museum (world attractions in miniature), and another 3D gallery. All these excursions are not expensive and not long (1000 rubles per person and approximately 3-4 hours duration), I think it's not expensive. I think all this will be interesting for children. And so there is a lot of interesting and exciting for adults too. So I don't agree with the previous answer. There will be many impressions after, I think, in

natalka_kyiv, I was not interested in animation, but hotels in Phuket work quite well on AI. In Pattaya, they probably also work, but it’s somehow strange to go there with children.

Egypt is no longer wanted. And on airplanes, so as not to be bored, there are TVs on every seat. There you can watch cartoons and movies, and there are even computer games. ONLY you need to take headphones with you (for example, from mobile phones), they are not given out there, and without headphones there will be no sound on TVs. And the time will fly by. I was also afraid of a long flight at 13 o'clock. But the time flew by behind the monitor quickly. I advise you to fly. Impressions will last a lifetime.

There are no inclusive and animation in Pattaevka! Yes, it is not enough! There is an oceanarium, there is a chic water park and everything that was written about above. It is enough to buy an excursion to Kwai in order to make a small impression of this mysterious country in a couple of days. By the way, an elephant ride through the jungle and river rafting are included at Pegasus in the River Kwai tour.

About the sea in Pattaya. We rested in February 2017 at Pattaya Park Beach Resort, the fifth time in Thailand. Upon arrival, we were told that Wednesday was a sanitary day, all beaches would be closed, as sewers were being dumped into the sea. And so it was. But on other days the sea was very dirty. To swim, we went to the Military Beach (we took it from a local travel agency), and also went to Samet for a few days, where the sea is clear.
Ambassador City is a large hotel, but it is very far from Pattaya, but you can’t swim there either. In someone's review I read that a pipe with drains into the sea is not far away.
аватар Kolhoznic
Don't listen to the "sanitary days" and "beach closures" and "dirty sea" bullshit! "Ambassador City" is not so far from the center of Pattaya. Fifteen minutes by tuk-tuk. And there is no "pipe with drains into the sea" there! Another good option is the Naklua area. The same "Green Park". A chic and inexpensive hotel in a quiet location near the "dolphins". The sea around the hotel is the cleanest! To the center - fifteen minutes of leisurely walking along the "bichka".

Rest is completely different. It's true. In Thailand, everyone is looking for entertainment to their own taste. Nothing to do in hotels. The exception is the aforementioned Ambassador City complex with hotels of various categories on one vast territory with its own markets, shops, beach, etc. Almost all-inclusive. There is much more to view in Thailand than in Egypt, Turkey and Tunisia combined. If Pattaya, then definitely the same Ambassador. Hotel category - according to financial capabilities. If beach Phuket - I advise Karon Bay. Just one moment. Tai is a great WINTER resort. When others simply fall away due to cold weather. In summer it is hotter and more humid. And the beautiful islands in the Andaman Sea are closed to the public. The living creatures in the sea are more diverse than in Turkey and Tunisia, but much worse than in Egypt. Food (especially seafood) is much tastier than in the resorts of North Africa.
аватар Kolhoznic
JeryLee, and what - Egypt has already been opened for tourists ?!
аватар natalka_kyiv
Dear Kolhoznic, have you definitely been to Pattaya? Or do you just want to spoil the rest of the family with small children? Or you just have never seen a clean sea, and therefore it seems clean to you in Pattaya. I love Thailand very much and we have been to different places, so I am writing a truthful and objective review. After the Red Sea, people will be very disappointed with the sea in Pattaya. They have a high bar now in assessing the sea. In Tai, there is something similar only on the Phi Phi islands, or small islands near Koh Chang. But it is disproportionately expensive in comparison with Egypt.
аватар Kolhoznic
natalka_kyiv, I will say more: since 1997, I have not only been regularly traveling three times a year to Thailand, but also wintering there for three to four months. And I have seen different seas in my long life...
аватар romaburako
It is clear that with children it will still be better in Egypt in winter. And we are afraid to be upset after the Red Sea.
But we still want something new.
аватар logvinova
natalka_kyiv, these are all employees of travel agencies. They praise their swamp like waders and not the slightest attention to the specific question of a specific person)))) I am delighted with the Tai and the river Kwai 2 day super and Cambodia is worth it, but the person asked about a holiday with two children!! !! The concept of Egypt (food, infrastructure) and Thai (breakfast, city beach) are completely incomparable.
аватар JeryLee
Kolhoznic. In Egypt, you can fly in different ways. There would be a desire. I have been more than once. I don't want any more - fell in love with Tai. For 10 years already. But to change Egypt to Turkey or Tunisia, from my point of view, is insanity. I have been there and there ... I post exclusively personal impressions. And not as it happens here: "... I read in someone's review ...." In the barn, they just write everything. And there is no firewood there for a long time ... With respect to everyone ...
аватар Kolhoznic
JeryLee, Tai is heaven!
аватар Kolhoznic
romaburako, your children are already big! And, believe me, there will be no problems with them in Thailand! Fly to Tai for new pleasant experiences! And don't listen to anyone!
аватар ollennka
Thailand is the Egypt of Siberia and the Far East, from the European part and from Ukraine, not everyone decides on a long flight. And with children, it is unlikely that you will be able to appreciate all the heavenly beauties of Thailand and, especially, Cambodia.
romaburako, you now have visa-free Europe at your side, you can try something new there. Greece, Spain - traditional family destinations.
аватар Kolhoznic
ollennka, at the end of last year and at the beginning of this year, there were many times more Ukrainians in Pattayovka than Siberians and Primorye! However, there have always been a lot of Ukrainians in any country in Southeast Asia.
аватар larisa_murashov
Do not advise Greece, there is nothing to do there at all and the prices are fucking high. We are just from there.
аватар natalka_kyiv
romaburako, I also recommend Maldives for a relaxing holiday with children. Choose an atoll island with a house reef because not all islands have a reef. It is inexpensive to relax in autumn and spring, summer is not the season, and winter is good, but expensive. Rich underwater world and beautiful nature. There is no animation, if that matters. Of course, fly much further than Egypt. I recommend Bandos, Biyadhoo Island, Vilamendhoo Island.
аватар JeryLee
ollennka, about the fact that Thailand is Egypt for Siberia and the Far East - not quite right. More precisely, not at all. Direct flight from Irkutsk - more than 6 hours. From Krasnoyarsk - 7. And there are very few direct ones. They even fly through MOSCOW for 25 hours !!! I don’t know any direct flights from Khabarovsk, but they mostly fly through Seoul or Beijing, at least 10-odd hours. So it is not easier for them to get to Tai, and sometimes even more difficult than for us from the European part. Thanks to the "wise" predatory policy of Russian air carriers. Another thing is whether the goal justifies the money spent. In my opinion in the winter - certainly. You can get closer in summer.
аватар ollennka
JeryLee, I flew from Novosibirsk to Bangkok, 7 hours, the same as to Hurghada. For cities east of Novosibirsk it is already closer to fly to Thailand than to Egypt. Naturally, I'm talking about direct flights (not only about the regular season, but also about charters). Even before the cancellation of flights with Egypt, Thailand was more popular among Siberians. From Khabarovsk, Sibir had a direct regular flight to Bangkok, which, apparently, was removed due to the crisis.
аватар JeryLee
I don't mind at all. Only this is not "Egypt for Siberia" ... But a good rest in the winter, when in Sharm they go in jackets and urinate in a heated pool. Rest in Tai for Siberia, the Far East and all Russia SEASONAL. In 80 percent of cases. And in the summer and from Siberia they go to Europe and Africa ... Anywhere ... The point is the choice, which in the winter season is very limited ...
