colorful photos of the rooms do not correspond to reality. everything is shabby and in need of repair. By the way, the A-One hotel, in the form of a ship that stands next door - it is being renovated, so in the morning you will wake up from the noise of drills, rotary hammers, vacuum cleaners and other noises. Welcome.
Nutrition:
We really liked the breakfasts! In the restaurant at the hotel (it's called Red Step), we often ate dinner - it was also very tasty and not at all expensive (for two, dinner with drinks is 400-600 baht (this is 300-450 rubles))
Service:
The restaurant and reception are very good! Sometimes the cleaning lady messed up. Moreover, tips do not affect this _)) but we still left.
Rooms:
The furniture is in perfect order, the condos work perfectly, the linen and towels are also good (some comrades living in 4-5 stars complained about the dilapidation of linen - we were completely in order with this). We didn’t notice insects (the main thing is not to leave any food on the tables, otherwise the ants will run, it was enough for me once (they attacked the cookie), then everything was put in the refrigerator _))) Standard rooms are rather small, but it suited us.
Territory:
Small but quite comfortable. The hotel itself is small and during our stay was occupied by 60 percent, so it is very quiet and peaceful. The pool is 1.5 m deep, not very big, but enough (again, maybe because there were few people). By the way, you can swim in the pool at least until 11-12 at night - I also really liked it, because. refreshing in the evening is nice, and in many hotels it is forbidden to swim in the pool after sunset (this is around 18.30-19.00). The pool has a jacuzzi.
I would also like to recommend a sightseeing trip to Cambodia. There are two options - for two or three days. We chose for two days, we already decided when we were still in Russia, as we contacted the representative of the tour desk (named Maxim) - I recommend this guy, he tells the truth, and does not sell just to sell. For a trip to Cambodia, it was only necessary to take a picture for a visa at the nearest photo workshop and pay for the tour : ). In the morning we were picked up from the hotel, put into a minibus and taken to the border. Drive to the border of 3-3.5 hours. We were 12 people - a small compact group. We were met at the border, handed out all the necessary and already completed paperwork. We just had to go to the local border guards, put stamps in our passports in the window and... WELCOME! Everything is simple. Then they put me on a bus and took me to the city of Seamriep. The ride is about 2.5 hours. The hotel, I can tell you, exceeded all our even very bold expectations: cleanliness, service, maintenance - everything is at a very high level. Staff in Russian at all. But this is not a problem - we remember everything that we know from English and go ahead. On the first day after lunch, a sightseeing tour of this town was taken to some kind of reservoir dug 900 years ago. In the evening we were taken to a Buddhist temple to watch the sunset from there - very beautiful! Then a visit to a factory for the processing of semi-precious stones, where it was naturally offered to buy these stones. They also offer local coffee beans, though I'm not sure that coffee grows in Cambodia, but in any case, the coffee is delicious). Then there was a delicious dinner and a night market.
And in the morning we were taken to the temple complex of Angkor Wat - that, in fact, for which tourists are brought to Cambodia. This complex consists of several temples located close to each other - one more interesting than the other. In one of these temples, a scene from the film about Lara Croft, who is a tomb raider, was filmed. Very picturesque places. Whoever was not there is a good reason to get together there, see everything for yourself and get unforgettable impressions, and at the same time visit one more country. Cambodia makes a very good impression, especially since all conditions have been created for tourists. Our guide also tried very hard to create the most comfortable stay for us in this country - he showed everything, told everything.
In general, the trip to Cambodia turned out just fine: the country, the guide, the hotel, the temple of Angkor Wat - I liked everything very much and made the most pleasant impressions + a good group of tourists crept up : ).
Let's go back to Pattaya. From the hotel on the sea went to the city beach. Even before the trip, we were scared that the beaches there suck, the water is dirty, the sand is black. Yes, the beach is like a beach. No worse than Turkey. The water is certainly not like in Egypt, and the sand is not white quartz, but you can swim and sunbathe without any problems. For sun loungers, however, you need to pay 100 baht for two, but umbrellas are attached to them for free : ). In general, impressions for the whole year! : )
Of course, I was upset, but when we came to the agency the next day, it turned out that we had been put on the wrong bus. We were immediately offered to compensate everything with money, but we took the difference with tickets to the Alcazar for VIP seats. We sat in the center in the 1st row, my husband was even pulled onto the stage. There were no more overlays, so take it in those agencies where they cheat less, you will still find yourself on the same bus with those who took both for 1800 and 2200. For example, when we went to Cambodia, the guide was the same, who took excursions from Sabai (a subsidiary of Tes-tour). The hotel in Cambodia was great! True, the country itself is poverty. You look and you begin to love your Motherland more strongly.
As for the Sandalay hotel, the impressions are twofold. I must say right away that before that we rested in Pattaya Park (where the cable car is), we liked it better there, so I was surprised by the high rating of this hotel. From +: convenient location (you can walk to the Festival in 15 min.
and to Big C in 7 minutes), executive staff (on request, they will bring both an iron and a kettle for free), clean bed linen. From -: small rooms, very peculiar appearance of the bathroom, terrible view from the window and no balcony as such. In Pattaya Park, we liked to sit on the balcony at night (there was a beautiful view of the sea). Forget about it here: a blank wall with noisy air conditioners. Also, there is no safe in the room, only at the reception (there was a free electronic safe in Pattaya Park).
Meals: basically normal: omelettes, pancakes, chicken (or fish, or meat), potatoes, noodles, rice. You can make your own Chinese soup. There are no salads, only vegetables and sauces for them. There are pastries and yoghurts. From fruits: bananas, pineapples, watermelons. The choice is not very large, but, of course, you can eat.
We dined mainly at the Festival, dined when it happened: when in some restaurant (but the prices are already biting), when we took it in a macaroon, and when we just got food in Bigs, there was a sale after 19 (shrimps for 40 baht, half a duck for 80) and ate in the room. Once they wanted to arrange a romantic dinner on the shore, but that was not the case, in the evening rats run along the shore. Somehow I immediately felt like eating. I did not swim in the city, only on the islands, and my husband swam.
In Tuk-Kom I bought a phone for Samsung Galaxy, for 1500, while it works fine. The prices for equipment there are really cheaper.
In general, Tai is a great place to relax, we met a couple who are coming to Tai for the 7th time, so draw your own conclusions!
