I returned from a vacation two days ago, and this hotel did not cause me anything but a shock. and this despite the fact that I am not spoiled for suites, I always stayed at the Standard - but this Standard is something. settled on the second floor with a view from the "balcony" of the neighboring building, literally two meters from us. below us on the same second floor - blocks from air conditioners, wires, dirt and debris - a wonderful view. some hair on the bed. I'm not talking about cockroaches and dirt behind the bed. with my stable psyche, even I was shocked. they refused to change the room with a normal view, they said that it was possible only tomorrow and with an additional payment of 500 baht per day! when my wife burst into tears and hysteria right there, they immediately changed to another floor and overlooking the hotel courtyard, from which a piece of the sea was visible. a patch of half a meter in size can hardly be called a balcony - only one chair fits into it. Apparently the balcony is only there to dry things. the bathroom is something. I was in a hostel and it was better. instead of a wall - between the bathroom and the room - glass, with a dirty screen. apparently to shoot the show "behind the glass". disposable slippers, shampoos, soaps and brushes - probably, in principle, they are not supposed to be there, at least we didn’t have them and never brought them. the closet is tiny, so things from the suitcases did not even get out. They defiantly forgot to bring drinking water, until you poke your nose at the reception that they have not brought water for several days. the staff is not very friendly, I got the impression that they don't like Russians there. of the pluses - it's good breakfasts, in fact, directly overlooking the sea - since their cafe is not focused on the hotel, but on third-party visitors - it is not located in the hotel building, but right on the road. behind the pool, where the locker room is, there is a small pond with carps and turtles - you can feed them. well, and the location of the hotel, sort of like in the central part on the first coastline, but at the same time not in the thick of all the events. By tuk tuk you can quickly get to everywhere, with a special desire you can also walk, but you don’t find yourself every day. There is a good massage room behind the hotel. that's all of the pluses. personally, our situation was saved only by the fact that we came for an active holiday, so we only spent the night at the hotel, and even then not every day.
colorful photos of the rooms do not correspond to reality. everything is shabby and in need of repair. By the way, the A-One hotel, in the form of a ship that stands next door - it is being renovated, so in the morning you will wake up from the noise of drills, rotary hammers, vacuum cleaners and other noises. Welcome.

The breakfast is delicious on the open veranda overlooking the Gulf of Thailand - very romantic, the sea is nearby. The room is small but cozy, bed linen and towels were changed daily in the room. After breakfast, it was nice to sunbathe near the pool with a jacuzzi, the pool is clean, the water is pleasant. The hotel staff is smiling and understanding, some understand Russian, which is nice, everyone knows English. The room has air conditioning, it works quietly, it was not turned off at night. And the rooms are quiet, despite the fact that in the evening there was live music in the hotel restaurant. I recommend the hotel as very convenient in all respects, in terms of quality and location)

The hotel is located at the beginning of Beach Road, where it is more or less quieter. The sea is really close (but to be honest we swam at the hotel only 1 time - dirty). The sea is really close (but to be honest we swam at the hotel only 1 time - dirty). We went to the islands to swim, but nevertheless there were always vacationers on the beach near the hotel. By tuk tuk you can get to Volkin Street in 5-7 minutes, travel 10 baht per person, walk about 20 minutes. Relatively close (15 minutes on foot) is a large store - Lotus (like Auchan in Moscow), but there you can buy food and inexpensive clothes . The Festival Center is also nearby (there are all kinds of events and there are a lot of shops, including BIG C - also not bad, and fruits and drinks and sweets and clothes. A 10-minute walk from the hotel is the Alcazar and Tiffany show. You can go there yourself. Nearby a bunch of cafes (both with seafood, and fast foods and pizzerias). In general, we really liked the location of the hotel, especially when we traveled and looked at other hotels.
Nutrition:
We really liked the breakfasts! In the restaurant at the hotel (it's called Red Step), we often ate dinner - it was also very tasty and not at all expensive (for two, dinner with drinks is 400-600 baht (this is 300-450 rubles))
Service:
The restaurant and reception are very good! Sometimes the cleaning lady messed up. Moreover, tips do not affect this _)) but we still left.
Rooms:
The furniture is in perfect order, the condos work perfectly, the linen and towels are also good (some comrades living in 4-5 stars complained about the dilapidation of linen - we were completely in order with this). We didn’t notice insects (the main thing is not to leave any food on the tables, otherwise the ants will run, it was enough for me once (they attacked the cookie), then everything was put in the refrigerator _))) Standard rooms are rather small, but it suited us.
Territory:
Small but quite comfortable. The hotel itself is small and during our stay was occupied by 60 percent, so it is very quiet and peaceful. The pool is 1.5 m deep, not very big, but enough (again, maybe because there were few people). By the way, you can swim in the pool at least until 11-12 at night - I also really liked it, because. refreshing in the evening is nice, and in many hotels it is forbidden to swim in the pool after sunset (this is around 18.30-19.00). The pool has a jacuzzi.
I would also like to recommend a sightseeing trip to Cambodia. There are two options - for two or three days. We chose for two days, we already decided when we were still in Russia, as we contacted the representative of the tour desk (named Maxim) - I recommend this guy, he tells the truth, and does not sell just to sell. For a trip to Cambodia, it was only necessary to take a picture for a visa at the nearest photo workshop and pay for the tour : ). In the morning we were picked up from the hotel, put into a minibus and taken to the border. Drive to the border of 3-3.5 hours. We were 12 people - a small compact group. We were met at the border, handed out all the necessary and already completed paperwork. We just had to go to the local border guards, put stamps in our passports in the window and... WELCOME! Everything is simple. Then they put me on a bus and took me to the city of Seamriep. The ride is about 2.5 hours. The hotel, I can tell you, exceeded all our even very bold expectations: cleanliness, service, maintenance - everything is at a very high level. Staff in Russian at all. But this is not a problem - we remember everything that we know from English and go ahead. On the first day after lunch, a sightseeing tour of this town was taken to some kind of reservoir dug 900 years ago. In the evening we were taken to a Buddhist temple to watch the sunset from there - very beautiful! Then a visit to a factory for the processing of semi-precious stones, where it was naturally offered to buy these stones. They also offer local coffee beans, though I'm not sure that coffee grows in Cambodia, but in any case, the coffee is delicious). Then there was a delicious dinner and a night market.
And in the morning we were taken to the temple complex of Angkor Wat - that, in fact, for which tourists are brought to Cambodia. This complex consists of several temples located close to each other - one more interesting than the other. In one of these temples, a scene from the film about Lara Croft, who is a tomb raider, was filmed. Very picturesque places. Whoever was not there is a good reason to get together there, see everything for yourself and get unforgettable impressions, and at the same time visit one more country. Cambodia makes a very good impression, especially since all conditions have been created for tourists. Our guide also tried very hard to create the most comfortable stay for us in this country - he showed everything, told everything.
In general, the trip to Cambodia turned out just fine: the country, the guide, the hotel, the temple of Angkor Wat - I liked everything very much and made the most pleasant impressions + a good group of tourists crept up : ).
Let's go back to Pattaya. From the hotel on the sea went to the city beach. Even before the trip, we were scared that the beaches there suck, the water is dirty, the sand is black. Yes, the beach is like a beach. No worse than Turkey. The water is certainly not like in Egypt, and the sand is not white quartz, but you can swim and sunbathe without any problems. For sun loungers, however, you need to pay 100 baht for two, but umbrellas are attached to them for free : ). In general, impressions for the whole year! : )

I recently returned with my wife from Thailand! For so long I dreamed of going somewhere, having a good rest and not spending a lot of money! And we are lucky. We chose the Sandlay Hotel, as it was recommended to us by a travel agency. You know, we were told so well about him, but I was afraid that they were deceiving and trying to breed. But my wife persuaded me, and we settled on this choice. Thank God, they did not deceive me, so many pleasant impressions remained, now I thank my wife for offering to settle in it. Now I'll tell you how it all happened. We arrived in Hong Kong early in the morning, they met us and offered to take us to the hotel. We agreed and got on the bus, there were about 9 people. While driving, the guide talked about the area around the hotel and what you can do there. From Hong Kong to the hotel about 150 km. We arrived there, began to disembark, and beautiful girls immediately flew at us and hung wreaths with flowers on us. It was pleasant and the mood improved noticeably. Despite the fact that it was very early, life in the hotel was in full swing. When we got there, we were offered a room. We chose the standard. Well, what can I say about the room: I liked the fact that it was furnished with beautiful furniture, there is a balcony (but the sea is almost invisible), a TV with satellite and there is also free internet, so I talked to my mother on Skype), cleaned daily. We did not stay in the room, we decided to go for a walk around the hotel. The hotel staff were polite and constantly smiling (which cheered up), they came to the bar-restaurant and decided to have breakfast. Now let's talk about food: we were constantly given various delicious seafood, fruits (pineapples, watermelons... ), several hot dishes, sausages, all sorts of yoghurts and sweets. In general, there was a lot of choice in food. The hotel is located very well, there are many cafes, restaurants, markets, etc. around it. Not far from the hotel there is a business center, so shopping lovers will not be bored)). But we rarely went there, mostly at sea. And on the beach there were a lot of people, all of different nationalities, a lot of umbrellas and sun loungers. There was also a large pool on the beach, next to it was the so-called beach bar, which sold fresh juices and various drinks. In general, the weather there is humid, I had to get used to this climate). We took various excursions (it's inexpensive). Usually in the morning the guide collected people on the ship and we set off from the port to the sea and we were told about the islands. You know, it’s so beautiful there on the islands, the water near them is clear and we wanted to swim there so much, but they didn’t let us, they said there were sharp stones that could hurt you badly. In the evenings, the hotel hosted various concerts, parties and performances. There you could dance and just have a good time with your wife or loved ones. Well, what can I say about the rest in general. My wife and I liked everything and we left with good impressions. I rate the hotel 4.9 points out of 5. Why not 5 points? All the same, the staff does not speak English well))) I am writing all this so that people know that there are normal hotels at an inexpensive price! Thanks Thailand! Raising money for a return trip! Good luck everyone.

We decided to buy tours ourselves via the Internet, so as not to overpay the agency. The most convenient search engine turned out to be at Sanmar. Therefore, tickets were booked quickly and without problems. The price of this hotel also pleased us, at the time of purchase, Sanmar had a promotion for this hotel. Arrived and checked into the hotel without any problems. The rooms are good and bright. All three rooms were given to us next door. We liked the service, ordered food in the room, brought in 10 minutes. The cleaners are polite, if asked to wait, they returned without question after the specified time. We only included breakfast. They were delicious. They gave cereal with milk, scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs, even there were pancakes. The hotel is not big, but cozy, not far from the center, 5 minutes walk to the Big Shopping Center. To the pier to swim on good beaches, however, far away. This is the only thing that upset us. Because the beach at the hotel was a minute away, but not good. Not like on the islands! I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to relax in Pattaya, but not on the beach of the hotel!

Good afternoon! We recently returned from Tai and I want to share my impressions, because I always read reviews myself before a trip. We rested in July. The weather was not very lucky, it rained every other day, however, refreshing and late in the evening, once it only rained for half a day (because of it we didn’t really see the zoo) Before that, we also rested in July in Thailand in 2010, then there was less rain , so once in a while it is not necessary. … More ▾ Good afternoon! But this, of course, did not spoil our impression of the trip. We took many excursions, and did not repeat any of those we had already taken: this time we took Cambodia for 2 days, Bangkok, Discovery, Alcazar and the X-show. All excursions were taken at the street agency Smile Travel, they have the cheapest prices, good discounts (all these excursions cost us 16.000 for two, and in the Tes-tour, 23.000, so count). True, there was one overlay. We took Bangkok with the oceanarium for 2400, and already on the bus it turned out that they took everything with shopping for 1800.
Of course, I was upset, but when we came to the agency the next day, it turned out that we had been put on the wrong bus. We were immediately offered to compensate everything with money, but we took the difference with tickets to the Alcazar for VIP seats. We sat in the center in the 1st row, my husband was even pulled onto the stage. There were no more overlays, so take it in those agencies where they cheat less, you will still find yourself on the same bus with those who took both for 1800 and 2200. For example, when we went to Cambodia, the guide was the same, who took excursions from Sabai (a subsidiary of Tes-tour). The hotel in Cambodia was great! True, the country itself is poverty. You look and you begin to love your Motherland more strongly.

As for the Sandalay hotel, the impressions are twofold. I must say right away that before that we rested in Pattaya Park (where the cable car is), we liked it better there, so I was surprised by the high rating of this hotel. From +: convenient location (you can walk to the Festival in 15 min.
and to Big C in 7 minutes), executive staff (on request, they will bring both an iron and a kettle for free), clean bed linen. From -: small rooms, very peculiar appearance of the bathroom, terrible view from the window and no balcony as such. In Pattaya Park, we liked to sit on the balcony at night (there was a beautiful view of the sea). Forget about it here: a blank wall with noisy air conditioners. Also, there is no safe in the room, only at the reception (there was a free electronic safe in Pattaya Park).

Meals: basically normal: omelettes, pancakes, chicken (or fish, or meat), potatoes, noodles, rice. You can make your own Chinese soup. There are no salads, only vegetables and sauces for them. There are pastries and yoghurts. From fruits: bananas, pineapples, watermelons. The choice is not very large, but, of course, you can eat.
We dined mainly at the Festival, dined when it happened: when in some restaurant (but the prices are already biting), when we took it in a macaroon, and when we just got food in Bigs, there was a sale after 19 (shrimps for 40 baht, half a duck for 80) and ate in the room. Once they wanted to arrange a romantic dinner on the shore, but that was not the case, in the evening rats run along the shore. Somehow I immediately felt like eating. I did not swim in the city, only on the islands, and my husband swam.

In Tuk-Kom I bought a phone for Samsung Galaxy, for 1500, while it works fine. The prices for equipment there are really cheaper.

In general, Tai is a great place to relax, we met a couple who are coming to Tai for the 7th time, so draw your own conclusions!
