What can you say about this hotel?
I rested a few years ago in the hotel "Aisavan" and was very pleased. Now my friend is being offered "Furama", I would very much like to know an objective assessment of this hotel, I am personally embarrassed by the distance from the center and some uncertainty with the beach. Thank you in advance.

We returned only three days ago from Furama. We are very satisfied with the hotel: clean, beautiful, tasty, all rooms have a sea view from the balcony (the higher the better). Everything is in order with the beach - 30 baht for a sunbed with an umbrella for the whole day, you can leave a hotel towel if you want to leave, no one will touch it. The beach is only called urban, in fact it is divided into sections and several people monitor each section: they clean up, arrange sun loungers, etc. There are plenty of places. And about the distance from the center: there are no problems with tuk-tuks, it’s easy to go to the center, it’s also easy to return if you sit at the final stop near the traffic light (not far from Volkin Street). If you choose "Furama", I think you will like it as much as we do.

We were in December, in general, we liked the hotel, at first we were really settled on the 4th floor, the view was from the side of another hotel, the sea was not visible at all. They were cleaned daily, but in 12 days they never changed towels, bed linen was changed 1 time (this is enough). On the beach opposite the hotel, large concrete structures were dumped, but this, in principle, does not bother. The sea is certainly not azure, but we swam , if you compare it with the islands, of course, it’s muddy here (I note, it’s not dirty). It’s not a problem that it’s far from the center, on the contrary, you can calmly walk around here, there’s no such fuss as in the center. Take a free map of the city, it’s easy to figure it out, and on tuk-tuk to Central Festival 10 baht. In general, we liked everything.

I didn’t like the beach, it’s narrow, there is no rest from sellers, the sea becomes dirty by lunchtime from bags and other garbage

Sunbathing and swimming is better to go to the islands. Near Furama is a citywide beach.
By remoteness ... who cares. We were satisfied. You leave the hotel and immediately take a tuk-tuk for 10 baht to reach the center in 10 minutes maximum.

Was in February-March, deluxe room on the 28th floor, cleaned every day, clean, tidy, towels (each time brought still warm after ironing, with the smell of lavender) and the bed was changed every day, we did not ask, they somehow themselves, they didn't give money.
The breakfast is good, I really liked the juices (not dry, diluted, but real juices) and coffee. there are several Thai dishes, compared to cafe food somewhat adapted for Europeans. I didn’t like the location of the hotel, in my opinion it’s not 10 minutes at all, but 20 minutes to the center, and tuk-tuks go somehow completely incomprehensibly, as it’s convenient for them, there are no fixed routes. The sea is a horror, I have never seen such a dirty one, it's not even in bags, but in frankly dirty water. The sellers are annoying, that is, that is, and No, thanks to them on the drum, stand above the soul and bend their own!

Tell me, did you pay extra for a deluxe room on the spot or when did you buy a ticket?

We bought directly from the travel agency. The deluxe is about $100 more expensive than the regular. But when checking into the hotel, we were also offered to change it to an even more comfortable one, paying extra for this at their rates. We didn't do it and never regretted it.

Deluxe was booked immediately through their travel agent from the tour operator Natalie-Tours, they clearly list the types of rooms on their website, for which we thank them, although in all other respects Natalie-Tours as the host in Thailand was simply cut down!

Can you tell me where you can eat nearby and not be afraid? thank. and it’s also interesting what excursions they went on and whether anyone was in the open zoo, otherwise I really want to go there.

In the afternoon we took fish on the beach - catfish and perch - very tasty, try at least once, do not be afraid! And in the evening I went "to the promenade" - from the hotel to the right (towards the center) to the signboard of Welkom Jomtien (In English, naturally) and to the right along the street. And there choose what you want: At Misha's or Our place (a big live parrot is sitting there) or something else. I also strongly advise you to visit a massage in this salon: as you turned at Velcom, immediately look to the left - you will see a lot of shoes at the entrance. Foot massage (200 baht) for an hour. For 40 minutes they are engaged in legs (up to the knee), then another 10 minutes with arms and neck. SUPER!!!! On the beach, there is no comparison.

I agree with Lana, I liked another cafe, this is in the other direction from Furama, i.e. to the left, on the same side, a cafe is called Cafe Le Mar, if I'm not mistaken, European cuisine is well represented, even with some kind of Mediterranean bias, there are many Thai dishes. Sometimes we bought fish and seafood from a nice Thai woman, not far from the hotel, to the right, from the side of the promenade, I don’t remember the landmarks, her point opens only after 6 in the evening, because her relatives catch this very fish until 6, everything is very fresh and tasty, you will see it yourself, if you are lucky to find it, the fish lies in the ice, you can immediately see the fresh catch, you yourself will choose what you like and she will cook it for you. 2 rather big fish - 220-250 baht (read rubles). Well, I liked the Vietnamese cafe at the Ha Long hotel, delicious, Vietnamese, by the way, Vietnamese cuisine is not as spicy as Thai, and everything has a different taste, two oriental cuisines, and the difference is huge!
Feel free to buy from street vendors, you yourself see the goods and what they sell to you, but in the cafe you still don’t know what and from what they have prepared for you ... Yes, there are also very tasty pancakes with a banana, almost at every step!

For men!!! Behind the hotel there is a paid pond, it can be seen from the height of the hotel when you leave the room on the floor. I highly recommend visiting it. come there, for 400 baht-rub you take a fishing rod. They may say 450 baht but it actually costs 400 baht. You will be given a bucket, some bread and some bottles. Then you go to the fishing area, there are tables, a canopy, faucets for washing hands. The Thai will ask you yourself whether you will catch or he will help you. His help costs 100 baht. Agree without hesitation. Then he will offer you a better place, where the fish are biting, and the fish hawk will spread it in a bucket as it should be and throw it away. My husband is an experienced fisherman. And for the first time he refused the services of a Thai. The result is two fish and disappointment. At other times, we were no longer stupid and the rest was a success. A hefty fish weighing from 12 to 15 kg. While you stretch it takes 20-30 minutes. Very hard. Then you take a picture and RELEASE! If you take a fishing excursion, then it costs 900 baht here. This is for those who do not know or are far from this pond, but you can come yourself for 400 and accompanying people for free. We usually went in the sun. You sit under a canopy - a buzz!
