For those who traveled to Thailand with a change in Ashgabat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want to be stingy in Dutik in Bangkok. Can I have questions in Ashgabat? Theoretically not, but still I wanted to know the opinion of people who have been there !!!

there will be no questions, because you won’t go out of the territory, but just in case, don’t lose receipts from duty free, and keep everything in their branded packages. in ashgabat - a bare hall with iron seats, 2 small TVs on which advertisements are played, no heating (and when it’s +8 outside it’s not very warm), a buffet in which there are only beach bags and pies of a dubious type and age, and in on an airplane that is refueled in tae, the food will be very specific))) and in general, Turkmen airlines - it was just a nightmare! I swore off flying with such airlines, it turns out to be more expensive for myself.

Thank you! But the difference is 200 dollars.!!!!

this is yes))) but be prepared for a difficult flight))) if there are empty seats on the plane, immediately ask to sit down more freely (when we flew, we fought out more free seats in an absolutely empty (!) tail), for comparison: when Egypt air flew, as soon as they took off, the stewards themselves seated all the passengers one by one in 3 seats! It can be cool in flight, and it can take a long time to fly, dress as comfortably as possible, they don’t give blankets, strained with drinks, the stewards are rude and inattentive.)) ) I hope that I didn’t spoil your mood, honestly, it’s simple: whoever is warned is armed, and let the thought of saving $ 400 (for which you will probably buy a lot of nice things in Thailand) warms and helps not to get angry in flight)))) but even better just try to get a good sleep)))) have a good trip))))

Alcohol in Suvanapuma is not very cheap compared to the dutiks of other countries. It is much more interesting to buy local Thai rum in any store, put it in a suitcase and not worry about hand luggage.

Is it possible to use luggage when transferring? No one gave us the suitcases. We flew Turkmen in March 2009. Everything Lexx-AJ said is true. This is a really gloomy hall, where there is really no food, no water (I won’t say anything about alcohol at all), and everything is terribly expensive. You are kept behind closed doors and not even let out on the balcony to get some air.
I can’t say anything bad about the airlines themselves - polite smiling flight attendants, delicious food. No one forbade us to occupy empty seats (by the way, unlike our Aerosvit, which flew from Delhi in December 2010 - half of the plane was empty, but they were not allowed to transfer, and the staff was very unfriendly, and we, after 3 weeks of wandering around India .. True, they had blankets, unlike the Turkmens :) So, really, take warm clothes on the plane. We had a bottle of rum from the Thai Dutik - there were no problems, we drank it safely in Ashgabat.
IMHO, the difference in ticket prices justifies such inconvenience.
Have a good trip!!!

Why use luggage? I understand that Dron1981 is worried about whether there will be problems bringing the goods bought from the BPC on board in Ashgabat.

Sorry, I misunderstood :) I thought we were talking about alcohol for drinking in Ashgabat. Of course, if you take it home, you can buy it right in Tae and pack it in your luggage, I agree here.

Thai alcohol in Suvanapumen's duty free shop is not much more expensive than store prices, and if the luggage is packed with kilograms to overweight, then it will be cheaper to buy alcohol in duty free.
