Temple of Wat Saket and Wat Po. Bangkok.
Bangkok is a city of contrasts. Here and slums, and ultra-modern roads, and huge office buildings. Perhaps it can be called the heart of Asia. It is huge and varied. Any person will find a place where he will be insanely good. For me, that place was Wat Saket, a Buddhist temple also known as the Golden Mount. The height of the mountain is 76 meters. Entrance to the territory of the complex is free.
12 symbols of the Chinese horoscope settled at the rise, so small, but all so majestic.
A huge number of statues of Buddhist themes. Most of all I was touched by small funny Buddhists. Climbing the mountain, you can see a huge number of bells with petals in the form of a heart. At the slightest breath of wind, they played their quiet melody, and this caused such peace that I wanted to sit down and just listen, enjoy.
We climbed higher and higher and found new figures, small waterfalls and beautiful flower beds.
The place seemed somehow unreal! A piece of oasis in the middle of a noisy city. Birds sang and squirrels jumped from tree to tree. When we climbed to the next level, and a small alley with bells opened up for us, we were just delighted! Many of the visitors struck these bells, and there was some mysterious noise around ...
At the very top there was a functioning temple with a golden stupa, the same bells were ringing, and “golden petals” were flying across the floor ...
It is worth noting that the descent and ascent can be carried out along two different paths that do not intersect with each other. This is a great way to see something new in such a small place.
For some, Wat Saket may seem boring and not interesting, but I really liked it. There is something mystical about it...
Temple of the Reclining Buddha (Wat Pho) is the oldest temple in Bangkok.
It is located near the Royal Palace. Entrance 100 baht, the price includes a bottle of water.
At the entrance we were greeted by formidable sculptures of guards!
Naturally, the main attraction of the temple is the statue of the reclining Buddha. Its length is 46m, and the height is 15 meters, but the temple itself is worthy of close attention.
The feet of the Buddha are mother-of-pearl, with a beautiful pattern. If you have a wish, you can take coins and throw them into each vat, making a wish.
There are 95 stupas of various sizes on the territory of the temple. The temple is huge, bright, brilliant! ! ! The sun constantly gleamed from the buildings, and it seemed that the roofs were studded with precious stones.
There is also a Thai massage school on site. The prices here are higher than in other places, but, according to our friend, the massage itself is much better!
