What to see in Crete without a car?

Hello, we can't rent a car. We will live on Crete in Amoudara. Please advise where you can go by bus, so as not to take too long. And is it possible to get to Balos bay and Ellafonisi beach by regular bus, how long will the journey take in this case? And what is the cheapest way to get to Mykonos and Santorini?

There are 2 Ammoudars, one near Herakleion, the second near Agios Nikolos. If near Herakleion, then to Herakleon on foot, we walked along the sea to the Vinitian fortress and along the road. Buses run there in all directions. You can get to Herakleion-Knossos Palace, you can go to Rethymnon or Chania without leaving Ammoudara. Good afternoon. On your own, you can visit, in principle, everything. Either rent transport, or take the local public. At any bus station there are a bunch of free booklets and timetables to help you get your bearings. From Heraklion you can go anywhere on the island.
