Good day to all! We are going to Crete as a family in June 2013 with children (5 and 11 years old). Among other excursions we want to visit the island of Santorini. I want to ask advice from "experienced" travelers: how best to prepare for the excursion, does it shake a lot on the boat, maybe it's better to give the children some drugs for motion sickness before the trip, go on an excursion on their own or with a tour operator, what to bring as souvenirs ??? In general, we are interested in any nuances, one way or another connected with a trip to Santorini with children. Thanks in advance for the information.

We have never been to Greece - all in Asian countries. There are Russian-speaking travel agencies everywhere that provide services much cheaper than Pegasus, Tez, etc. Is there such a thing on about. Crete?

Everything is the same in Crete, even in small towns there are street travel agencies. And like everywhere else, their prices are lower than those of hotel agents. There are no problems with Russian-speaking guides in Crete either, so don't worry. By the way, it seems to me that in Greece hotel guides are more marketable than in Asia or Egypt, and they can also make discounts and excursions as a gift. So I recommend that you first compare the prices on the street and in the hotel, what they offe ... Farther...

In Crete, I strongly advise you to take an excursion to Santorini, if finances allow, then for 2 days, since there is a catastrophically little time for a one-day trip. 1 day costs 90 euros - street agencies (2013 prices) from operators about 160 euros. Personally, I really liked the excursion to the island of Spinalonga. Excursion to the Palace of Knossos is pointless, does not make any impression, as well as the Cretan evening, money thrown away. Another of the standing ones is Balous Bay - th ... Farther...
We are going with a friend next week on the Fortuna 3* HB tour. Everything is as usual - they sold the last Cossack and went on vacation. How much money do you need to take at a minimum in order to travel and settle on excursions? Where can you save? :-)))

They drive normally in Crete, do not listen to those deconstructors who write that they drive badly there. This is Europe, not Turkey. But experience is needed, as the roads are mountainous and narrow. Buckle up for sure. Car type Fiat Panda - about 30 Euro per day. Gasoline was 3 years ago euro - liter. Now it's more expensive. Read my review - there is about excursions. Farther...
