what local attractions are worth visiting during a holiday on about. Malta
Tell me the most interesting routes for self-study during a holiday in Malta. Or is it better to book a guided tour through a tour operator?
What are the approximate prices for excursions? Should I rent a car (do I need international driving license???) or is it possible to use public transport, order excursions from locals?

thanks for the helpful link!
well, you can’t argue with the fact that there’s nowhere to roam there ... but judging by the photos that I saw, the places there are very beautiful)
Is it worth it to rent a car (apparently, it’s not a very budgetary pleasure there)? I would just like to see not only the sights of the cities of. Malta, but also go around the local bays and harbors! what can you advise in this case?

I don't know anything about rental cars, unfortunately...
Google it, you will definitely find an acceptable option ... the same Hertz ...
In 8 days you can walk up and down Malta with your feet)))))

Malta has a good bus service, you can completely get by with buses. The hotel gives a Bus Map - a list of routes and their scheme on a city map. Buses go to all tourist places of interest, and the most expensive ticket is 1.16 euros. And the Maltese buses themselves are a local attraction. As for the car, I don’t know, but keep in mind that there is left-hand traffic, like in England.
We went everywhere ourselves, except for the island of Gozo, we bought an excursion there. Although this is not necessary.

Is there a good bus service in Malta?
I hear this for the first time
The fact is that the intervals between buses are at least 40 minutes. Sometimes it can even be 2 hours.
Often drivers just don't stop as they speed past you.
That's why I think it's really hard in Malta without a car
Buses are used only by students of language schools, and therefore they go very rarely.

It's funny that we have such opposite impressions. I traveled half of Malta on buses without any problems. The interval on popular routes (such as Pachville-Valetta) is 10 minutes. Most buses run every half hour, long-distance flights once an hour. Knowing the schedule, you can figure out when to wait for the next bus. I must have been lucky, the buses always stopped.
Much will depend on where you live, from some places it can really be long and inconvenient to get to the sights by bus. Download at http://www.atp.com.mt/ Malta Bus Routes (list of routes, travel times, intervals...) and draw your own conclusions.

So I'm talking about this and say that the interval between buses is 30 minutes - 1 hour. And often more? Is that what you call good bus service? In Kyiv, a minibus near my house runs every 3 minutes. This is what I can call human public transport
I think that when a person came only for a week, then spending an hour waiting for a bus is too much. So you will spend 3 hours a day at bus stops
And on the island of Gozo, the interval by bus is generally 3 hours.
Buses can be reached almost everywhere, but you need to wait forever))
