To begin with, in August 2020, when Montenegro was opened for tourists, I realized that if I didn’t fly there, I wouldn’t see the sea this summer) ...We urgently ordered a studio from the tour operator (with a mini- kitchen to cook sometimes) without a balcony (cheaper). This was our second trip to Budva. I was pleasantly surprised by the location of the hotel - close to the center, supermarkets, market, bus stop and the beach. The hotel was located on a quiet street - no one was noisy. When we arrived at the hotel, Igor the owner kindly offered us a room of the best category - larger and with a balcony, because due to the pandemic - there were few tourists in Montenegro and the hotels were not full (by the way, it was room 403, which was written about earlier. At the same time showed the number that we originally ordered.
Of course, we gladly accepted the host's offer and settled in a spacious room with a balcony overlooking the mountains and the roofs of neighboring houses. Yes, there is no elevator, but Igor helped and brought my suitcase to the 5th floor. When we checked out, I just lowered my suitcase sideways down the stairs, which was also normal. Stairs in Montenegro are everywhere, you must understand this - a mountainous country, for healthy and not lazy people, this is an additional opportunity for sports)).
The room has 2 beds, a sofa, a kitchenette with a good set of utensils (we needed a lid for a frying pan - we turned to the owner - he brought it to us) and a mini-fridge (of course, a watermelon would not fit there, but we had enough for a small food stock). By the way, Igor told us that water in Budva can be drunk from a tap, before that we bought water. We, of course, collected and defended water for a day, so that the chlorine would evaporate - good water.
We had lunch and dinner on the balcony, in the morning there is sun, so we had breakfast in the room. There is also a mini dryer on the balcony. Bathroom with shower, shelves (which is important for girls), and enough dryers for towels. There is a hair dryer. But we did not use the hair dryer and TV. Towels were changed daily and cleaned too.
The staff is not intrusive. Igor knows Russian perfectly. And when we forgot our keys in the room, Viber quickly solved this problem with the owner.
At the reception there is even a library-books that you can borrow and read. Sometimes Wi-Fi slowed down.
I added a photo - this is a screen from the video, so the quality is not very good.
I definitely recommend the hotel.
Solid cons:
1. Huge black cockroaches crawl out of the drain in the bathroom floor and run around the room, laying eggs (see photo). I lived in terror all the time! Ants live in the walls of the room, sometimes they crawl out of the walls in large numbers.
2. The presence of a kitchen is generally useless, because, as it turned out, the rules of the hotel prohibit frying meat or fish. But I didn’t fry eggs there either, because the pan is covered with a layer of fat. In general, it’s difficult to cook anything on this stove, I didn’t even manage to cook porridge, everything was burnt. As a result, they ate the same as friends who lived in a room without a kitchen overlooking the wall.
3. The balcony in this room has no roof or canopy, so you can't sit on it in the rain, everything is wet, and it's very hot in the sun. Sat only in the evening a couple of times.
4. Poor sound insulation.
5. As a blanket - some kind of bedspread with a sheet, the pillow is small and uncomfortable. Instead of a double bed - the beds are pushed together, but we wouldn't mind if there wasn't such a big gap between them. Moreover, the beds are slightly different in height. As a result, I had to sleep separately.
5. Wi-Fi is very poor. Sometimes I had to go to the door of the room to have internet. The speed is so low that there is no internet at all. Used mobile internet.
I categorically do not recommend this hotel because of the first minus, you can still somehow put up with the rest and be patient, especially if you stay for a couple of days.
Our friends lived on the floor above in the standard room, although small, but well maintained. For some, it may be a plus - on the balcony and, accordingly, there is never sun in the room (the balcony of room No. 302 overlooks the wall of a nearby villa)
If anyone has any questions please write.
PS I wanted to place a "thank you" on the Siesta website (namely, Natalia, the manager for Montenegro), but there is nowhere to leave a review there.
Many say that Montenegro is similar to the Crimea, I will not argue, but the local people are different. And of course the sea, so clean and turquoise!!!
We rested at Villa Ivona. Everything was great: new furniture, helpful staff, located near the market and supermarket, close to the sea. The hostess was not annoying, but at the first request she did everything. Cleaning was every day, change of towels every 2 days, change of bed linen 1 time per week. But there are also two downsides:
1. This is the lack of soundproofing.
2. The standard rooms offer a "beautiful" view of the wall of the neighboring building.
There simply can’t be problems with food, restaurants and cafes are just on every corner for every taste and color.
The excursions that we managed to visit (Dubrovnik, Cetinje, Ostrog, 2 canyons) were all worthy: good drivers, professional guides, comfortable buses. We ordered all excursions from Pilon.
Vacation was a success!!!
I wish you all a good rest and gain only positive emotions.
Be 3 min. from Slovenska Plazha-beach and 6 min. from Mogren beach.
Near tour. Pilon agency, from where they took excursions. There is a market and a super market nearby. Bus stop near Pilon.
The villa consists of 4 floors. The view from the window was on the mountains. Each floor has 3 rooms. The room has a refrigerator, air conditioning, TV. Rooms are divided into sobs (without a kitchen) and apartments (with a kitchen).
On the ground floor there is a luggage room and a toilet for free, when you check out you can leave your luggage. Check out at 10 am.
Bed linen, towels and bath accessories are changed upon request. The female administrator changes everything at the first request, but she doesn’t know Russian and understands it slightly, in principle, the Serbian language is somewhat similar to Ukrainian, you can understand and explain : )
Liked everything!
At the hotel, at the reception, the administrator could not be found, even when we were leaving - so no one came up. In general, the impression of the rest is made up of such trifles, and there were too many of them, we realized that there is no attitude towards Russians here, although we did not give reasons to treat us in this way. We regretted that we went to Montenegro and to this hotel. I DO NOT RECOMMEND RUSSIAN CITIZENS TO GO TO THE HOTEL "IVONA", YOU WILL REGRET ABOUT THE DAMAGED HOLIDAY!
