Beaches of Netanya
The wonderful green city of Netanya, located in Israel on the Mediterranean coast, is especially beautiful during the swimming season. Last summer I lived in this quiet, calm city of Israel. There are plenty of descriptions of Netanya hotels on the Internet. A lot is written about them. But I did not find comprehensive information about the beaches of this Mediterranean resort, let alone photographs. Therefore, I hope many tourists will find my information useful.
The beaches in Netanya are quite wide and very well maintained. All beaches are municipal. The sand is clean and fine. Sun loungers and umbrellas are available for guests for an additional fee. The beaches are equipped with free showers and fresh water taps, as well as exercise machines. Lifeguards are on duty. I would also like to note that in Netanya the beaches are much calmer than in Tel Aviv - the city that "never sleeps".
Although the distance between the cities is about 30 minutes and the sea is the same - the Mediterranean, however, in Tel Aviv, the beaches are much noisier: they often play matkot (beach tennis), Israelis gather in large companies and families.
However, Netanya has one feature - the city is located on a hill, a cliff. The level of hotels and houses is higher than sea level. Therefore, in order to go down to the sea to the beach, they use either the stairs or the free panoramic elevator in the area of the Residence and Residence Beach hotels. The elevator operates from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm and is beautifully illuminated in different colors during the season.
In the summer in the Mediterranean Sea there is a special period of activity of jellyfish (approximately from mid-June to mid-July), so you need to be very careful.
When the Mediterranean turns cool, Netanya is still a great place to stay and an ideal city for trips to the Galilee, Jerusalem and Bethlehem, Caesarea-Haifa-Akko, Tel Aviv, etc.
