We were in Crete last August, the island was specially chosen so that you could go on an excursion to Santorini - where the beauty is unearthly !!! :) I don't know if there will be excursions there in September, but Crete itself is very beautiful!!! I will be the third one to enlighten you on Crete. By the way, I was there just last September (from September 18 to October 2). She was very tanned (really chocolate shade), had a great walk (if you are interested in night parties, then you are in Hersonissos), traveled around the island. I went to Santorini: liners go there until the very end of the season.

Crete is definitely good. Although I really liked Rhodes. Beautiful nature, interesting excursion. It is very convenient to rent a car, you can drive around the island in 3 hours non-stop :)
