Who is in Greece this year?
Good afternoon! Please tell us about your impressions. Should we consider Greece as an option for a 14 day beach holiday with a child. Is there unrest in the country? Does it affect the quality of the holiday?

Of course you can. There are strikes, but they do not affect the quality of rest, they concern only the state.

In May, they saw a demonstration of the Syrians in Rethymno (in Crete). It didn't look dangerous. On the contrary, very interesting))) In addition, they walked down the street for 10 minutes and the trace of them caught a cold, as if there was nothing. And in general, it seems to me that island Greece in this regard is very different from the mainland.

Good afternoon. This year in Greece, just a full house of some tourists! There are no worries! Especially in resort areas!

Thanks a lot for the replies. What is the best island to visit? where are decent hotels and good sandy beaches, so much so that you can still travel to see the beauty of this region?

We were in Crete in Bali and Georgiopolis (Kavros). Both there and there are good sandy beaches. Beauty from everywhere you can see probably the main desire;)

Oh .. you can everywhere .. if in Crete, I love the Rethymnon area more .... if Halkidiki, then everywhere is equally good)). What level of hotel are you considering?

4 stars, probably not worth less. Yes? I want to take breakfast and dinner so that during the day I can go somewhere and not be attached to lunch. if that's true in the islands at all.

We were in Crete in July, we ourselves were worried about strikes, etc. But everything went great with gasoline at gas stations, there were no problems, and the food at the hotel was even better and, I would say, more refined than 2 years ago. We have been traveling for 5 years in a row in Iberostar Creta Panorama. Before that we were in Cretan Village, also a very good hotel, but there is no sandy beach.

We rested from August 11 to 20 in Crete in the Stalida region. Quiet place with a very beautiful beach, a great place to relax with children. From there you can go on completely different excursions. Of course, the excursion to Santorini, the divine island, shocked me the most!!! :))) but it was very hot during the day, so I can’t tell you about the child, although there was a girl with a baby with us - he behaved quietly, did not cry. Crete is a paradise, highly recommend!!! have a nice rest :)

And there are no strikes there, this is not displayed on the island part of Greece !!!

No excitement is felt. Think for yourself - Greece is very dependent on the tourism business, if it suffers even a little, then they will put things in order very quickly.
By the way, about stardom. In Greece, even 2 stars are quite decent. Modest, but decent. So, do not be afraid of this (although it is worth reading reviews before booking a hotel).

I rested there three times a year: Zakynthos and Peloponnese, Rhodes, Halkidiki. Each time I went for a short time, and therefore so often - and 14 days would be the most.
It's great there.
There is no such feeling of freedom and really rest and switching anywhere else. )
