The hotel has several buildings, we were settled in the old building. Comparing with hotels in Turkey, of course, the first impression is 3 *. New buildings with direct access to the balcony to the pool, as they said in the hotels, are not sold to tourists from the CIS.
But overall, the room is Clean/large/Cleaning regularly. We are satisfied.
The food is very tasty, varied, everything was enough, the child ate everything without busting)))
They didn’t forget that the Child had a birthday on the day of arrival, they congratulated him at dinner with a cake with candles and a song))
When placing the hotel gives the same 15 minutes of massage, also nice.
The beach is clean, the water is insanely beautiful and warm. Sunbeds and umbrellas are paid for 3 euros per item per day.
Near the hotel there are several shops with souvenirs, food.
Large promenade with restaurants.
On foot you can walk to the aquarium and dinosaur park, interesting for children.
Coming to rest, you want to get to a place where you will not only relax, but will feel at home. If you are looking for such a place, then st. Constantin village is just for you. It doesn't matter if you come with your family or friends, with business colleagues or alone, you will be welcomed here at the highest level!
The Pagonakis family is an ideal to follow, so you will feel warmth and care from the first days of your stay on the island.
The food in the hotel is prepared by an excellent chef, the rooms are spacious and comfortable.
I advise you to go and feel the Greek flavor in the hotel st. Constantine village. Axios!! !
The animation is very good, every day something new and interesting, well done guys. Now about excursions. We took a private tour and were very disappointed. Not only was the car disgusting and not at all the one that should have been, the tour itself was reduced to a trip to baited shops and a tavern, thanks at least we drove to Lake Kournas and spent some time there, by the way, no one warned us that the tavern will be for a fee, usually such things are spoken out, they didn’t tell us anything, so if there wasn’t enough money, we would remain hungry, but the most unpleasant moment was that our guide began to speak unflatteringly about the situation in our country, moreover, the situation I didn’t speak at all, I was talking frank nonsense, so the guide George, hello to you, we won’t recommend you to anyone, but the trip to the island of Spinalonga is super, very competent guide Eleni, excellently led the tour, told and showed everything very interestingly and in detail and as an organizer - super, many thanks to her. Now about the sea. The beach in Gouves is municipal, clean, but paid, two sunbeds and an umbrella - 6 euros. The beach seems to be small, but very comfortable, sandy, the entry into the sea is also sandy, the sea is not steep, the depth rises smoothly, although the sea is characteristic, it sometimes storms, it stormed a lot for a couple of days, sometimes the current changes and it becomes cool or vice versa, too warm, but it didn't bother us. Yes, let me give you one piece of advice, at first use sunscreen, because the climate is tricky and it's very easy to get burned. The fact is that there is always a cool breeze and the heat is not felt at all, but the skin burns at once. In general, of course, Crete is a very beautiful island, I have never seen such beauty of sea water, I highly recommend it to everyone to visit.
not in some toilet paper, dispensers without soap. there are no bedside rugs and the floor is iced tiles. but it's all bullshit, we are familiar. spent the night, went to breakfast. all food is very good, service is great. all is clear. tea only in the morning. water only in coolers. The restaurant was not allowed to pour water. They told me to go to a bar. they didn’t really want to pour the same into our bottles. tired of fighting. the whole vacation bought water in the nearest store-price as in Russia. safe in the room for a fee of 3 euros. No credit card accepted, no terminal. beach towels at the reception for a deposit of 10 euros.
the hotel said that the beach is its own. lies. municipal. little. There are no changing rooms. du one pipe with a hole on two beaches next to the road. so they went far. the rooms were cleaned at some strange time, after dinner, when the child fell asleep. there was one soap dispenser in the toilet - between the toilet and the bathtub.
so when you pick up soap to wash your hands, it drips while you carry your hands to the faucet. when you take a shower, water flows from you as a stream when you pick up soap. knee-deep water. Well, that's all about the hotel. I will answer any questions. in general, they dashed off 1500 km on rental cars in Crete. tours are expensive. by car in a buzz and many times cheaper. I’ll tell you about the rental separately with any information, we drove 5 different cars. Bought from 3 different companies. no problem. and everything is wonderful. we won’t go to Crete again, we studied everything, we were everywhere. just because.
Thanks! We are planning to come again.
I had a room with a veranda, quite cozy, large, there was even a kitchen, but I did not use it. True, he went out to the pool, in the evenings, companies with children gathered at the pool bar, but by 12 everyone went to bed.
The hotel offers many excursions and trips, I went to the Palace of Knossos (the labyrinth of the minotaur), the monastery and the cave of Zeus.
I liked it - the guide was Greek, he spoke excellent Russian, he spoke very interestingly. But you don’t like excursions - you can rent a car, scooter or even an ATV and explore Crete on your own, since there are a lot of rentals near the hotel and the prices are low - they ask for a car from 38 euros per day with full insurance.
I flew to Crete with Aegean Airlines. The difference compared to Russian airlines is tangible - there is a lot of space on the planes, the knees do not rest, the flight attendants are polite, the food is tasty, you go through passport control and baggage claim on the way in 20 minutes. At Domodedovo, a representative of Labyrinth helped me a lot, this is a travel agency where I booked a tour, I almost missed the plane, arrived at the airport an hour before departure, he waited for me with documents, escorted me to the check-in desk, helped with luggage, in general, attitude very pleased, flew in a good mood.
In general, I would rather recommend this hotel to those who are looking for a relaxing family vacation or vacation with children.
The airport in Heraklion is very old, shabby and not comfortable. Well, this is not so important, although it brings its share of discomfort during departure.
Resting at the St. Constantin Village (www. stconstantin. gr) in Crete from 06/01/2011 to 06/08/2011. Two adults and two children (3 years 8 months; 1 year 1 month). The hotel is located in the village of Kato Gouves east of Heraklion. The hotel itself positions itself as a 5-star, but all operators sell it as a 4-star.
We liked the hotel. Beautiful architecture, cozy territory, a lot of greenery (mostly flowers and flowerpots in pots around the territory), suitability for families with children (everywhere there are exits for strollers, high chairs in the restaurant). The service staff in the bars and restaurant are mostly students from Ukraine, Russia, Moldova and Lithuania, their main Bulgarian. All cleaners seem to be from Bulgaria. The contingent of vacationers is 80% visitors from the former Soviet countries, somewhere else 10% Poles and the rest are French, Germans, British. There are three swimming pools on the territory of the hotel, two large (85 - 155 cm deep) and a small one (85 cm) and one more in the building. More than half of the sun loungers near the pools were always free, apparently the bulk of the people went to the sea. To the sea to go 1-2 minutes at a calm pace. Immediately we get to a small beach, and a little to the right is a large beach. Before lunch we were by the pool, and after lunch we went to the beach. The cost of two sun loungers and an umbrella is 7 euros, but since we came to the beach for 2-3 hours, we did not take them (the children still sat in the sand and played). The sea was warm and even the children were not cold to swim in it. On a large beach, the depth of the sea drops very, very smoothly. From the hotel along the embankment to the left you can walk to the main street of the village (it departs perpendicularly from the sea), where there are many shops. By the way, souvenirs are cheaper than there, I have not seen anywhere else, and there is also a store with a large selection of natural cosmetics based on olive oil.
We got a room in the old building, right above the reception and with a balcony to the bar, this was the only negative, because. when there were evening entertainment (until 22:45) it was noisy. Everything is neat and clean in the room, one large bed, two children in a separate room and a kitchen wall. They cleaned every day, all used towels were changed every two days (but they left so many that we didn’t have time to use them all, about four pieces per person), the bed was changed twice in a week.
Magic show, Greek night, Disco night, etc. were held every two days near the main bar in the evening. But we still didn’t go to them.
We had All inclusive meals and this threatened us with breakfasts, lunches, dinners, a snack bar by the pool and free drinks on site throughout the day. Breakfasts are typical European, for lunch and dinner there is a very large selection of dishes, plus confectionery and ice cream. The restaurant is outdoors and it is very pleasant to eat there. If you plan to go on an excursion and skip lunch, you can order dry rations (juice, water, apple, orange, tomato, sandwich) at the reception until 18:00 the previous day.
Now about where to go. There are many car rentals nearby. If you turn right on the embankment and turn right again behind the large beach, there are three car rentals. If you go left along the embankment, there are also enough rentals. We took a Fiat 500 for 3 days for 120 euros, this price included two child seats, unlimited mileage and full CASCO, civil defense and personal insurance (insurance does not cover an accident that happened off public roads and when the driver was drunk). First, we ordered a car via the Internet, agreed that it would be brought to the hotel at the appointed time, but no one came. We rented a car from Zak's cars. To the topic, the 95th gasoline costs 1.80 euros / liter. Because the car is given with a full tank, then you need to return it in the same way.
I recommend everyone to visit the Cretan Aquarium, it is very close. From the hotel along the embankment to the left a couple of kilometers. You can also walk. Directly along the embankment, the landmark is an abandoned American base with radio towers, in that area the road deviates slightly from the sea, but it will still be clear where to go.
We also went to Heraklion, to the Palace of Knossos, or rather its ruins and the town of Agilos Nikolas to the east of Hersonissos. The town is very beautiful, on the way there, on the highway, there is one monastery, you can take some cool pictures.
And about the weather. We were on vacation in the first week of summer and the sea was already warm, although the guide on arrival said that it was cold. And the air temperature was about 30 degrees. Only in the morning until 8 is cool and in the evening it gets dark.
Check-out at the hotel takes place at 11 am, then leave the luggage in the room near the reception and then have fun as you can. The bus picked us up at 16:30, so even after check-out we managed to have lunch and go for a walk. Everyone in the reviews wrote that they were given a bottle of wine upon check-out. I saw this at the hotel, but for some reason they didn’t give us a present, which I’m glad about, because. I wouldn't know what to do with it (we don't drink alcohol).
Well, that seems to be all. I recommend this hotel to everyone, young and old. If anyone else has any questions, I'll be happy to answer them.
As for the hotel - the hotel is good, clean, the food (if you don't expect lobster) is quite normal. Wine and beer, local liqueurs and cocktails made from them - all for free. The rooms are large and quite comfortable. The staff is English-speaking, but there are Russian-speaking staff from the CIS, so there will be someone to ask if you need help. Take shampoos, gels, toothpastes and washcloths with you - this is not available in the rooms (or maybe it was just not the season yet ... ). If you decide to cook something in those kitchenettes that are in the photo, please note that there are no dishes and cutlery either, only glasses and an electric kettle). Well, if without any wild requests and claims, then the hotel is quite good and worth the money.
The only negative is that it’s a bit boring in Gouves))) If you want peace and quiet, this is the place for you) And if there is movement and entertainment, then it’s better to go somewhere closer to Hersonissos or Heraklion
The cleaning was definitely disappointing: towels were changed irregularly (sometimes every day, sometimes every other day, and at the end of our stay only once every three days), the room itself was cleaned very badly (the toilet was cleaned only once and two or three times in 10 days of stay washed the floors), cleaners - a different story: cleaning the room and changing towels began in the afternoon, while the cleaners did not take into account the fact that we were in the room and rested (we just had to get up and leave the room).
The food left the most negative impression: the food was monotonous and, in my opinion, not very tasty, however, we were not hungry. Breakfast: sliced cucumbers, scrambled eggs, fried tomatoes, unsweetened cottage cheese, sausages (tastes just disgusting), bacon, beans in tomato, cereal and bread with jam (the set of products did not change during all 10 days). For lunch and dinner from vegetables, only a salad of the "Greek" type (cucumbers and tomatoes, plus cheese, which was sometimes sour), garnish - potatoes and pasta in various forms, fried eggplant, meat - pork, lamb and overcooked chicken, dessert - muffins, ice cream and jams. In general, the menu is monotonous, from fruits there were only tangerines and twice watermelons, there were no olives until they expressed their claims to the owner. Our child by the end of the holiday ate only pasta, muffins and ice cream.
Entertainment in the hotel at least: once there was karaoke, once "Greek" evening. There is nothing special to see in Gouves itself. After the third day, the child began to ask to go home, only a large number of Russian children and communication saved him.
The attitude towards Russians in the hotel is not very friendly, both from the staff and from the owners of the hotel. Conflict situations before our eyes were resolved not in favor of the Russians.
The beach is 200 m from the hotel, sunbeds are paid (2 euros each), the sand is not too clean. Almost all 10 days of stay at the hotel, the sea was stormy and it was almost impossible to swim. I saved the pool at the hotel, however, when on the 8th day of our stay, the children, diving, found a piece of glass at the bottom of the pool, the desire to swim in it was significantly reduced.
As a result, there was no desire to return to this place a second time.
