The rooms are excellent, everything works, the views are gorgeous in any direction, the kitchen is super, the alcohol is super, there are many pools, beautiful territory.
The beach is in the bay, there is practically no wind, the water is very clear - we even managed to catch two small octopuses, on the beach there are two sun loungers and an umbrella costs 7 euros for the whole day, the beach is really not very big, but if you come by 10:00 in the morning it is still completely free .
Alcohol on system all inclusive - import.
Friendly staff.
A year later, on our advice, friends went, they also really liked it.
I highly recommend.
R/S. There were goat-faced in the hotel, but they did not bother.
Were from the 14th to the 21st of August 2013 from Teztur, flew out of Kyiv.
By placement:
- we arrived in the morning, so we had to wait until the room was free and ready for check-in, we were offered to leave our luggage in a special storage room, and change into swimwear there ourselves and go to the upper pool, where you can swim and eat, which brightened up our expectation;
- we were given room 010. As originally ordered, it was an improved standard with access to a sea water pool for several rooms, which pleased us very much, because the calm environment after the noisy upper pool was a contrast. In addition, I was also pleased that you can swim in this pool whenever you want, while you can swim in the common pools only until 19.00. Therefore, we swam early in the morning, meeting the dawn, and late in the evening under the stars in a beautifully illuminated pool. The pool offers a beautiful view of the sea and the beach;
- the room has air conditioning, which automatically turns off when you open the door to the terrace with a swimming pool, a hairdryer hidden in a drawer near the mirror, a TV with two Russian channels, a refrigerator that is replenished with soft drinks every two days, a safe, either coded or locked with a key (in different rooms in different ways, we were given a key at the reception), a kettle with tea and coffee accessories, a telephone, 4 glasses, a single double bed, a couch, a coffee table and an armchair;
- cleaning in the room every day, towels were also changed every day, bedding once a week, but refueled at each cleaning, bathrobes and slippers were not immediately, but they were given to us upon request;
- in the reviews before arriving at the hotel it was written that there are mosquitoes, but this is probably seasonal, because. during our stay there was not even a hint of them, so the insect repellents brought with us were not unpacked and taken back home;
- a small minus can be noted poor sound insulation from the common corridor. My husband and I are night owls, and in the mornings when the neighbors were noisy out for early excursions, check out or breakfast, we were a little disturbed by it.
By nutrition:
- in the main restaurant, buffet meals, everything was very tasty and varied, breakfast starts from 7.00 to 10.00, but for owls like us, a late breakfast is provided from 10.00 to 11.00, the only restriction is that you can eat only inside the restaurant, on the open area is no longer allowed; every evening there was a themed dinner, which can be found in the information at the entrance. At dinner, the dress code for men is: trousers and closed shoes! so be sure to take this with you, because. Of course, no one will deprive you of dinner, but they may not let you into a la carte, but it’s worth going there;
- A la carte restaurants were originally announced as paid, but Teztour provides to go there for free once to the Culinary and twice to the Chinese restaurant. We went to Chinese once, upset the sushi, there were 4 unfortunate pieces of roll in a serving, but we recommend the Peking duck. The culinary delighted in everything, served by a Russian-speaking boy, whom his parents brought to Greece as a child;
- in the bar by the lower pool until 23.00 you can order various drinks for free from the presented wide menu "All inclusive" with you in plastic and in glass, if you drink them on the territory at the bar;
- in the bar by the upper pool you can not only drink, but also have a snack. You can even have lunch if you didn’t have time to 14.30 in the main restaurant, hot snacks are served here until 15.00, and then until 18.00 you can have a snack with fruits, salads and dessert. There is also popcorn and natural chips, which will delight children. The upper pool is just for children and adapted, it is more bland, consists of two parts, shallow and deeper, there is also a jacuzzi, but weak.
By the beach:
- our building was the closest to the beach, the hike to which took 5 minutes. A beach with very small pebbles, does not belong to the hotel, so umbrellas and sun loungers are 2 euros each for the whole day, but you can do without them by bringing your own substrate and umbrella or buy them cheaply right there in the shops with taverns adjacent to the beach, upon entering in the sea of meters through 2-3 slippery large stones, but we did not use special slippers, because if you swim right away, then it doesn’t matter, sea urchins were also not observed. The only thing I warn you is that during even small storms it is still better not to swim, because. I was slightly stretched by a wave over a stone when trying to get out of the sea and slightly scratched my knee. At first, it doesn't hurt at all, but after repeated bathing in salt water, scratches cause discomfort. But when diving with a mask, the presence of pitfalls revealed the beauty of the underwater world. Of course, it cannot be compared with the Red Sea, but it is also very exciting and beautiful.
Entertainment:
- if animation is obligatory for you, then you may find it boring here. My husband and I did not care, so we even liked that the animation was unobtrusive and mostly for children. This took place on the territory of the upper pool or bar, as well as in the amphitheater.
- the hotel is located in the middle of the island, which is convenient for exploring Crete on your own when you rent a car. We did not take excursions from Teztour, because they seemed too expensive to us, in addition, we are not the first time on the island and have already been in some places. But our travel agent Ksenia kindly made us a route according to our preferences, marking on the map the places where we should go ourselves and get the most out of it. The only trouble with this was the lack of a navigator in the car, because. there are not enough signs in Crete, but if you are good at navigating the map, have basic English, then this is a solvable problem. At worst, no one canceled the sign language either, and the Cretans are very friendly people and always try to understand and help you. In addition, recently the number of Russian-speaking tourists has increased significantly compared to our last visit, so a lot of information is now duplicated in Russian both on signs, and in ads, and in the menu.
Summary:
In the hotel from all sides, except for Russian and English, various languages were heard: Italian, French, and Arabic, and those that we could not identify, which suggests that the hotel is quite consistent with high European 5-star standards standards. By talking with the neighbors, it turned out that among them there are a lot of newlyweds who do not regret choosing this hotel to spend their first days of life together here. Therefore, we can safely recommend this one for a relaxing and romantic family vacation!
The hotel is good and real -5k, slightly old (repair 5-6 years old), but expensive plumbing jacuzzi. Roca. There are flaws for the picky, if you are annoyed by a sticky carnation or a crack on a stone countertop, it’s better not to go and don’t spoil the reviews The room - we had an excellent one, in the farthest building with a pool for 2 rooms - no one staggers in front of the room, no noise, beauty. Small, without any frills with a terrace on the second floor and in front of the entrance to the room pool, which is better than when the pool is for 1 room and the entrance is past it (although these are also good rooms).
They extended the room to 3 hours - 30 euros, our room was already waiting for other guests, so we were moved to another room, at the level of the main restaurant overlooking the sea, the room is smaller, other furniture and in front of the veranda everyone goes back and forth, we don’t like it . The hotel is spectacular, the views are simply amazing from many points. The food is super, better than in chic Turkey, there is everything from dietary and meat and fish and pizza (5 types from the oven, very delicious) and spaghetti (3 types, every day ), fish (shark, grilled and boiled, steam, fried, in batter, with and without sauce, mussels, octopuses with rice or spaghetti, grape snails, gave 4 times, kebabs, etc. ), lamb meat, pork , rabbit, goat, they even gave a deer and a pig, similarly in different interpretations and several different dishes at the same time) for Russians, buckwheat porridge, sauerkraut and dumplings. everything is very tasty! wine from bottles, both white and red, as for me is tastier than in Turkey (although I think that I was also in excellent hotels).
the attitude towards us personally is very good and friendly, both from the side of the waiters, bartenders or the manager in the restaurant, always good seats in the restaurant and 2 large bottles of wine for dinner.
The beach is normal, pebbles are small and large, you need slippers. Near the hotel there is MONONAFTIS beach (2 sunbeds and an umbrella 6 euros), close to shops and a tavern. Behind the white hotel there is a beach called Psaromura (min. 10 walk from the far building), we went there, we liked it better there.
The sea is amazingly clean, blue-blue. We were not lucky - the sea was terribly cold, we could not wear a mask and swim with it. it all depends on the course and it was only the last 2 days that it was invigorating.
The village of Agia Pelagia is a nice settlement, they have a sandy beach, shops, taverns within walking distance. (min. 30 walk)
The guide is more respectful to Maxim, for the first time they are satisfied with the guide (they didn’t use their services much before, because they were talking nonsense).
The reception is rather slow, like everywhere else, there is a Russian-speaking Lena, everything is faster with her. They don’t know Italian, German, more or less, almost everyone knows English.
Excursions are terribly expensive? which do not include entrance tickets and lunch! (min. 50 euros, for the whole day from 100 euros) We rented a car - great!
The contingent is 0 Poles, Germans, French and of course Russians, however, it’s not critical yet, and in extreme cases, you can transfer or find a place further away, but in our 11 days there were 3 groups with promotional tours from the tour agency, so if you still want to not to rest in a branch of the Moscow region (at best), hurry up, before everyone has found out about the hotel. Now I also think, maybe it was not worth praising like that? , what if we are going to rest here again!
So, the cons of the hotel here in the reviews are clearly exaggerated. The angles with the "terrible road to the beach" are generally incomprehensible how they were filmed so horribly - a sweet, beautiful path, very well maintained.
About good. The place is wonderful. The view from the window is such that you can die for it))) The beach is incredibly beautiful, incredible transparent sea, and due to the bay it is also very calm.
Now, about the cons. )
This time I was traveling alone, as my husband could not, and I really needed a calm and measured rest. Natalie Tours recommended this hotel. Two years ago I was vacationing in Sansimar, near Rethymnon (and I really liked it there), and Seaside, once belonged to this network. Total, it is clear that it was RELATED. Before. But not now. the hotel turned out to be just huge, and this is not at all what I needed. But, this is rather a question for the tour operator, and not for the hotel. Further. The all-and-clear system and "5 stars" are mutually exclusive concepts))) I'm not joking) You just need to be very clearly aware of this. For the money (not very big) that I paid for the tour, I certainly had a great rest. But again, this is NOT five stars, that's all.
And the biggest negative is the hotel opposite. It should be noted that this is a bay, that is, three hotels stand in a semicircle, and the acoustics are not just good, but VERY good. So. In the hotel opposite from 8 to 11 pm some kind of disco was arranged. Every evening. And sometimes during the day. It yelled so that even the closed windows did not help. But even this is not the worst thing)), but the fact that they liked to play one song 10-20 times in a row)))) and yes, the repertoire has never changed in a week)))).
There is nothing in the room. No bathrobe, no slippers, not even a pen and paper. First time I've encountered this. The cord of the hair dryer is screwed into the wall so as not to be carried away.
The hotel was full, there were no free rooms (I heard at the reception) Everything, as you understand, is on each other's heads. There are about 300 rooms in the hotel (by eye). But. Half of the families were with children. 5 children, for example, per family. And for many of these families, the rooms overlooked the pool called Relax) You could forget about relaxation, as you know : )
There were also many big and noisy companies. Most of all there were French, then Russians, then Ukrainians, Poles and British. Germans - I did not hear a single one.
The food is very, very monotonous. During the week there was only one type of fish and it was all from the sea. Either it is with white sauce, or it is with tomato sauce))) In the same Sansimare there were squids, and shrimp and several types of fish, and all this changed, so I repeat - there is simply something to compare with. But, we must pay tribute, in Seaside all the products were fresh and of good quality - the stomach was never indignant.
Staff. Tries. But for such a number of people, 2 porters and 3 people at the reception are simply not enough. They simply do not have time - you can forget about any individual approach. And it seems to me that this is the basis of "5 stars". IMHO.
We must pay tribute that when I decided that my lock in the room was broken, I had a staff in 3-4 minutes.
I especially want to "mark" a cute black-haired girl at the reception with huge eyes! She is really nice, and she tries very hard, but this is not a five-star service! )) I was "lucky" - she settled and evicted me). For 5 minutes she told me what I need to do with the card for getting beach towels - although everything is just clear here. And then she proudly announced that I have a safe in my room! ) I said yes, I know - because I'm going to use it often) it turned out that there was a safe in the room - attention! - locked with a key, no one gave me a key, of course. Wi-Fi password too - and did not even ask if I needed it. I had to return - ask for the key) I was evicted from her. To begin with, in order to hand over the keys to the room, I had to stand in line of 30-40 people. I am not kidding. A group of French arrived. With grief in half, I checked out (my sweet girlfriend still tried to write me a bill for basketball, which I don’t even know how to play)))), and since I had three more hours before the transfer, I asked where they had a luggage room. She showed, I pushed my suitcase with gifts, weighing 25 kg, to this room. As I said the porters were occupied by 40 Frenchmen. If I had been with my husband, I might not have paid attention, I felt good about the weight of 25 kg. I finished the suitcase to the room - and . . bingo! it's locked up! Which the nice girl again forgot to give me. )) Then, in order to pick up things, I again had to stand in line for the key - the next groups stopped by)))
I repeat, I had a great rest, but the hotel does not pull on five stars, that's all) and you just need to be aware of this. If I knew this, I would simply choose another hotel, the way and more expensive.
I hope my review will be useful to someone.
First they settled in a room that was a class lower, but knowledge of English and a little pressure + a call to TEZTOUR in Greece - solved the situation. As a result, they moved to the Maisonette room type, 2-tier 44 sq. m, 2 balconies and a sea view. Well, they did not expect at the reception that a crest with knowledge of English would come across! Plus all the other crests who settled on that day and had the same problems - he helped everyone to resolve the situation. Conclusion - learn English if you decide to relax in a European country.
Contengent: French, Fritz, Belgians, Italians, British, Psheks. Then, after June 17, the mass arrival of the Russians, as it broke through....
Beach:
2 sunbeds + umbrella = 6 euros. You can free on the pebbles and buy an umbrella for 9 euros.
Sea: take a mask who likes to watch living creatures, because. there is enough of it (fish, hedgehogs, various mollusks, stars, octopuses, mustachioed moray eels, crabs, barracudas, at a depth of more than 6 m. you can find shells the size of a foot). I didn’t buy slippers - it makes no sense. But most are in slippers. The cost of slippers is 6-8 euros.
Food: varied.
Excursions: expensive, but interesting. You can rent a car and drive yourself.
• Animation Entertainment: enough for a child. For adults, too.
Good food: varied, everything is always fresh, the main thing is very tasty vegetables and fruits grown in Crete. Alcohol is beyond praise. The wine is white and red, dry for an amateur, but the cocktails are just super (Pino Colada, Sex on the beach, etc. ).
The only negative of the hotel is the remoteness from the city and entertainment. But minus or plus, everyone decides for himself. Those who are tired of the city and noise will have a great rest in this hotel, surrounded on three sides by the purest Cretan Sea. If you want the city, you can take a regular bus to Heraklion. On foot you can walk to the nearest village of Agia Pelagia.
Bottom line, a good hotel for a romantic getaway away from the hustle and bustle.
