We did not choose it by chance, but went there specifically on our honeymoon trip. Since we also organized a wedding ceremony in the Dominican Republic with the 2Banana team, they helped us with choosing a hotel and organizing our leisure time. It was on their website that I first saw an overview of all the most popular hotels in the Dominican Republic, carefully studied, watched video reviews and fell in love with ours at first sight! The Grand Hotel Iberostar positions itself as a place for a comfortable and measured luxury vacation.

There are no standard rooms here, everything is exclusively in the "suite" category and varies depending on the type, the most expensive is with an ocean view. Our suite had a garden and lake view, we didn't pay extra for an ocean view as we spent most of the day on the beach anyway. By the way, a very important point confirms the high class of the hotel - there are more places to stay than vacationers. This also applies to the beach and the recreation area by the pool. Everything is provided so that there is no feeling of crowding and lack of space for relaxation, as is often the case in simpler hotels. It's nice. The room is luxuriously furnished, it is not inferior in size to an apartment, a separate and large sitting area, paintings on the walls, luxury bedding, and it is changed often, the room is cool enough, a standard mini bar and large white shutters leading to the garden. The territory of the hotel is vast and luxurious, the main feature is a three-masted ship floating in a special pool, where you can relax and drink a couple of cocktails in the evenings. And of course, take great photos. The only unfortunate moment in our vacation, we were somewhat negligent in booking tables in the a la carte restaurant, and did not get into a Mexican restaurant, there were not enough free days of rest. By the way, the food and alcohol in the hotel are excellent. And if you order drinks during the daytime in the pool or on the beach, then you will certainly be served quality cocktails or any other alcohol, there are simply no "cheap" drinks here. . In the evenings, there is also no need to travel anywhere outside the hotel, because theatrical performances and various shows with participants of magicians, dancers and other artists are held every evening in the eponymous la Scala. Well, of course, Michael Jackson's favorite show in the Dominican Republic (he is their idol, apparently, he has never seen such popular love for this singer in other countries before). Therefore, I confirm the summary of our friends from 2 bananas that the Iberostar Grand Hotel is the best hotel in Punta Cana for a honeymoon!

Well, I hit my forty. . . I'm not superstitious and still celebrated my anniversary (the first forty years of childhood are especially difficult for a man, then I hope it will go easier ???? ). The family nevertheless decided to give me a fabulous gift - two weeks of vacation in the Dominican Republic (from childhood I read old Ernest and dreamed of the Caribbean ???? ).

The family nevertheless decided to give me a fabulous gift - two weeks of vacation in the Dominican Republic (from childhood I read old Ernest and dreamed of the Caribbean ???? ). And in order to finally finish me off, they agreed with the guys from Two Bananas on a 2-day fishing-trolling (one can say to repeat the feat of old Santiago from The Old Man and the Sea)! That's what a gift from the heart means - they know about me more than myself!
Well, lyrics aside… Arrived in Aeroflot economy class at 10 am, the flight was quite comfortable. Since check-in at hotels in the Dominican Republic begins at three o'clock in the afternoon (siesta is sacred???? ), we have already changed into shorts and went to inspect the hotel grounds. Unlike other hotels, here the territory, although large, is very reasonably equipped. It has everything - tennis courts, swimming pools, a gym, restaurants, rooms, a beach. Everything is surrounded by greenery, but this greenery does not resemble a jungle, but a well-groomed tropical garden! What struck me was the silence reigning in the hotel - after all, the hotel is 18+ category and here the audience is mostly adults. The hotel lobby amazes with a variety of styles of rooms - snow-white marble of antiquity, a nook with red walls and mirrors like in the boudoir of the Marquise de Pompadour, but I liked the room with hanging clocks of various styles and sizes (an ideal place for a business person to relax ???? ). The room struck me with its luxury, and the luxury is not oppressive (not "expensive and bohato" as some nouveau riche love), the room is decorated in a typical Art Nouveau style, the walls are decorated with paintings. The bed is huge, a wardrobe (I really want to say “respectable wardrobe” in the wake of Gaev from The Cherry Orchard???? ), a mini-bar (in which I found my favorite cognac (colleagues obviously agreed with the hotel management). The bathroom is also excellent combines luxury with modesty - a jacuzzi, a huge sink but not that oppressive combination of marble with gilding, snow-white walls and floors, and from the bathroom there is a window overlooking the ocean.
The restaurant was amazing with its variety! Thousands of different meat dishes, lots of fruits. Yes, which is typical - unlike most other hotels in the Dominican Republic - European and Asian restaurants are no worse than restaurants with local cuisine!
Smoothly we pass to the beach. The beach is huge and obscenely clean (algae brings incoming waves, but they are quickly removed)! Fine white sand, azure, clear water. A huge number of sunbeds and deck chairs (so you don’t have to fight for a sunbed, but it’s still worth leaving the sunbed, so that it would not be occupied)
Well, I won’t talk about fishing - you need to tell it personally, under a glass and in other words, but thanks again to Two Bananas for fishing! It was a real adventure!

Rested in this hotel. Unfortunately I have not seen standard rooms, but I think they are no worse. Relax in an ocean view suite (ocean view). The jacuzzi was located in such a way that you could open the curtains and get that you are sitting on the balcony if you close it as if in the bathroom) actually great.

It was possible to order by phone or downstairs and a Jacuzzi in the room with rose petals, champagne, etc. will be prepared for you by a certain time. The service is amazing. the manager followed us all the time, organized all kinds of leisure for us - wrote down every day in restaurants for dinner, talked.
Party concerts every day, as well as grand visitors can use all other hotels of the club system, although no one else can go to you. The waiters on the beach are all top class.
