The distances between the seats are so small that the knees rest on the chair in front, and we are all not that big. Sitting is uncomfortable, not like stretching your legs when flying at 13 o'clock. Already in the 90s, there were headphones on the plane and they showed at least some movie on the general screen, but there is nothing at all, people don’t know what to do. If you don’t have your own video, then they are languishing from a long flight.
There are no complaints about the meeting at the airport of arrival, everything is quite fast and efficient, although we probably still cannot do without queues. At the bus distribution desk, only one person costs and, of course, collects a queue, because the entire plane must be distributed, and this is about 300 people.
But this is all nonsense compared to what started at the hotel. Our registration took place in 3 stages. First, the manager from the reception began to look for our numbers, one found, and with the second, they started walking from one computer to another, calling somewhere, negotiating with another manager, and so on for about 30 minutes. Then we were told that the rooms would be ready by 15 o'clock, but at least they gave us bracelets and we were able to go out to eat. At 15:00, only 2 girls turned up at the front desk, one of whom registered a foreign group, and the second one found out by phone for about 20 minutes, and no one paid any attention to us at all. A line of people gathered at 12-15. Then it turned out that they all had a meeting from registration and they left after 30 minutes. After that, the entire first registration process began in a new way with going from one computer to another, telephone conversations and finding out what is not clear. As a result, after 40 minutes we received the key to one room, and for the second tale come after 17. Why didn’t we understand if the check-in was at 15, but we were already happy about this, because you yourself understand that after such a flight you really want to the ocean, or to the room! At 18 o'clock I again came to the reception, now I was more fortunate, and in 15 minutes I received my long-awaited key. Our friends, who arrived with a 7-year-old child on December 30, spent 2 hours at check-in.
But that was only the beginning. Then everything became even more beautiful! For New Year's Eve dinner we were seated at a Dominican restaurant. The table that was set for us is exactly under the air conditioner. At a temperature of 28 degrees outside, everyone came in open evening dresses, so it was simply impossible to sit at such a table. At our request to reduce the air conditioner, they kindly shook their heads, saying that of course, but no one did anything. When we asked to be moved to another table, they just frankly laughed in our faces that there were no more tables and nothing could be done. Only when my son had already demanded the administration and began to speak with them in raised tones, they suddenly found a table where there was no wind at all. But if you think that they did all this quickly, then you are deeply mistaken. Only after the third communication with the administration and the question of when they will set the table for us, they deigned to move. This whole process took about 30-40 minutes and all this time we were forced to sit under the air conditioner or stand on the street, since it was simply impossible to sit. I have never seen such frank neglect and rudeness in any hotel in the world, no matter how starred it is! And there is nothing to say about a 5-star hotel!
But this is not the end of all the charms of this hotel! At about 9 pm on January 1, something sparked or smoked in the Italian Restaurant, and the lights went out in the whole part of the Tropical restaurants. People from the dark halls began to be transferred to the restaurants of the Caribe section. At 11 pm we went to our room, which was located right in front of the entrance to the main restaurant, in complete darkness, only the path was lined with candles taken from tables from restaurants. At about 0-15 - 0-30 we woke up from a strong bang and they began to knock on our door. Opening the door, we saw security or security personnel asking us to urgently leave the room and go outside. And then an unprecedented picture unfolds in front of us: All three restaurants are burning with such fire that there is simply no point in extinguishing something there. Something explodes there, the roof collapses, flames are such that any fire show can envy! No one extinguishes this with anything, although there are a lot of ponds and fountains nearby. The fire truck arrived about 20 minutes after we were taken outside. For about 40 minutes, all the evacuees stood on the street, who ran out in what and who guessed what to take with them. Someone's relatives were sitting in the casino at that time, so there was no information at all. We started calling to understand how the situation was in the second half. People made their way to their relatives through the bushes. All in all, it was a complete nightmare. Then everyone was taken to the Level unit, but it was also impossible to accommodate everyone there. Who sat on the street, who in the gazebos. Only at 2 o'clock we were allowed to return to the room. All restaurant buildings were smoldering, and there is simply nothing to restore there.
The hotel administration did not even consider it necessary to apologize to the people who spent 2 hours on the street, experienced a nervous shock. Whoever contacted them, they simply brushed it aside and apparently believed that it was normal, a fire in a 5 star hotel, when the prerequisites for it appeared at 21:00, and no one began to check and look for the reasons. And they just let half the restaurant burn down. The smoke detectors in the rooms did not work that evening.
Then just a wild horror with food began. The tables were not cleared, there were queues everywhere. Served in restaurants for 1.5 hours. Ideally, only restaurants worked for an additional fee.
Room cleaning left a lot to be desired. It was possible to find sand, and dirty glasses and threads on the floor after cleaning the rooms. Linen was changed only if a special piece of paper was placed on the bed. But alas, she was not in all the rooms, and therefore the linen there was no one for me until you catch the maid by the hand. Slippers and bathrobes had to be requested from the service, although they are declared and should be in the room upon arrival. Not a single bar had light snacks, not only at night, but also during the daytime between breakfast, lunch and dinner. Although all this was also stated.
The beach is not cleaned at all. The pool is cleaned when people are already swimming there. The area around the pool is washed when people are already sunbathing on the sunbeds. Buckets pour water and drive it to the edge of the territory. It's wet and slippery all around.
So, see if such a hotel can be a 5-star hotel and whether it is possible to recommend it to your customers without ruining the reputation of your company. I would not, and I will warn all my friends and relatives against visiting this hotel

The rooms are comfortable, atmospheric, the territory resembles a picturesque Garden of Eden, flamingos walk, a lot of living creatures, exotic trees, lobby areas are conveniently equipped, many bars and a snack bar near the beach, this is very convenient, because the buildings on the coastline are away from the main restaurant, go there about 12 minutes on foot, you can get there by local transfers that run around the hotel, but often just laziness. Lots, lots of sun loungers for your comfort. Algae are found in the sea, but they are very quickly removed, the sand is marble, clean. You can sign up for a la carte restaurants directly by phone, there is no need to go to the reception. Cleaning is usually daily, while guests are on the beach or excursions. From the restaurants I liked the menu and the main restaurants, the abundance of various seafood, very tasty soup in the American turtle restaurant, and steaks in the Mexican one. I think the management of the hotel has changed. They're pretty damn slow. Dishes were not cleaned for 2 hours. The locals say that this has never happened before. Second internet. Damn, I pay 5k bucks for all inclusive and I don’t see the point of cutting another 50 from me for a weak Internet. And if you took 50 tanks, then at least give speed, otherwise it shows 1 strip out of 5 and you can forget about Skype. There is a free one in the lobby, but the same problem can be discussed on Skype every other time.
The second disadvantage of the tour operator. Rather, even the first most important of the 5 excursions liked only 1. Excursions to the tobacco factory, to Santo Domingo and shopping do not take in any case. You are stupidly taken to an expensive gift shop. in the supermarket near the hotel everything is 2 times cheaper.
Excursion to Samona. Somewhere 50 to 50. Firstly, there are 2 types of transport by plane for an hour at 2 ends and by bus for 5. Accordingly, do not take the bus. The second we were taken to watch the whales. Those who expected to see something awesome there were severely disappointed, they saw a fin from 50 meters and that's it. Then we were taken to a very beautiful island, but we were there for 15 minutes instead of an hour, because we were looking for whales for a long time, the second part was more like riding horses to the waterfall and swimming in it. Everything is fine there, but it's up to you to decide whether it's worth 270 bucks. A tour operator outside the hotel offered this for 220. The only thing that we liked was a trip to the island, we went with a company, it was very fun and beautiful.
The return transfer was terrible, the hotel’s fault is not here, just because of the bad weather in Kiev, we were detained for 2 days in Paris in Charles de Gaulle, not letting us out of the airport. . But overall, I enjoyed my vacation.

We were settled in Melia Caribe, closer to the reception. We lived in room 4302 on the 1st floor. The number is normal. It has a balcony overlooking a quiet park. No insects (except mosquitoes) bothered us. 2 times peacocks came to our balcony with the whole family. We ate a cracker (from Russia) right from the hands  . To the sea 4 minutes walk or 1-2 minutes by train.
Ivan, the representative of the hotel from the Southern Cross, quickly solved all our problems. For which we express our gratitude to him.

I highly recommend visiting the airborne safari tour. A colorful and rich Dominican excursion to the hinterland. They will show you cockfights, tell you about life on plantations, show you how coffee grows and treat you with fresh grinding. Swim on a wild beach and ride horses. It's unforgettable!

In the main restaurant, everything is very tasty, everything is in sufficient quantity at any time. We also went to different restaurants: the French one is the best, in the American one there are very large pieces of meat : -), in Thai everything is very spicy, but everything in the Mediterranean is very tasty.
There are some shows in the evening, but we didn’t go to them, because we went to bed early, apparently due to the big time difference. Bright trains drive around the hotel - children really like them. There are golf courses. Two pools and two restaurants on the beach where you can eat fully. We are not fans of pools, so almost all the time we were on the beach, and there is such beauty........ If you stand facing the ocean, then five minutes to the right there is a market where you can buy souvenirs, cigars and rum, everything the same thing is sold on excursions, only more expensive, the main thing is to bargain!!
Regarding excursions - we went to the islands, or rather flew by plane for 25 minutes, and then by boat, and also on horseback, in general, a rich excursion, a lot of impressions, but with a child I would not go there, by the way this is the most expensive excursion 270 dollars. people but we don't regret giving it away.
Additional information for girls: there is an iron and ironing board in the room, a hair dryer, in principle, is normal, you can not take your own.
Most of all I didn’t like the room, but we only slept in it, so we didn’t get very upset because of it. I don’t remember exactly the safe in the room, or two or two from the floor. dollars per day. The furniture is OLD : -((, the mini bar was replenished daily (free of charge), there is a tea set.

S. we walked along the coastlines and really liked the hotel, I think it was called Barcelo Bavaro Palace de Lux, there is a super children's water park and the hotel itself is in high-tech style, and ours is in the classics, but very green, so choose according to your taste, have a pleasant stay .

They did not give lobsters, in any case, in the neighboring hotels they were given for dinner. MONEY TEAR for everything that is possible and in vast quantities (this applies to excursions) !! ! I don’t know about anyone, but I think that music should be played not only near the pool, but also on the beach, and so that it can be heard well, because. it creates a certain atmosphere for relaxation. In addition, I drew attention to the fact that they do not remove algae from the beach well.
On the positive side: I like that a large number of birds live on the territory and you can feed them from your hand, I like that there is a train, the nature is beautiful. Dominicans learn Russian.
