The settlement went quickly. The staff is friendly enough. A big plus is the presence of Russian-speaking staff at the reception (special thanks to Anna). Towels were changed every two days. Spacious showers. Food at the level, a rich buffet, a lot of meat dishes, olives, cheeses, vegetables, fruits, a variety of desserts, ice cream. An unpleasant moment is paid wi-fi, we came from Ukraine, which is at war, but everywhere (hotels, shops, coffee houses, restaurants, etc. )
) you can use free wi-fi.
The conditions for leaving the hotel are well thought out: while waiting for the transfer, they can use the left-luggage office, toilet, shower, receive a free voucher for lunch and one of the drinks. Rest in this hotel is quite satisfied.
Al tour but no drinking water in the rooms. We bought a bottle of water in a supermarket and took it to our room (although it says that you can’t take water), no one from the staff said anything bad about it to us.
There is no individual disposable cosmetics in the room, except for two small round pieces of soap. Keep this in mind when choosing. Good thing I took it all with me.
Our room was cleaned every day. Everything was clean. The room itself is nice, new and clean.
I don't understand why people complain so much. Let's not forget that Al in Turkey (Egypt) and Greece are 2 completely different things. No need to go to Greece and wait for the same buffet. We never left hungry there. Now I will briefly describe, as far as I can remember, what was there from the food.
Breakfast: various cereals, granola, bread, butter, jams, honey, ala nutela, their traditional spreads 2-3, scrambled eggs / scrambled eggs, some side dish (fried mushrooms with vegetables, peas with carrots, rice with seafood, etc. ) . ), sausages, fried bacon, cucumbers and tomatoes, sausage, cheese, boiled eggs, watermelon, grapes, pickled peaches, pickled pieces of fruit, yogurt, sweet muffins type 2, empty croissants, puff pastry stuffed with cottage cheese, small sausages in puff pastry. Well, tea, coffee, juice: orange, multifruit, pineapple and apple (every day). This is an exemplary breakfast every day.
Lunch / dinner (as it could be both there and there): spreads 2-3, Greek salad and some other, or pickled vegetables. Every day watermelon, grapes, dessert, ice cream. Some kind of white fish did not make out which one. For meat, there were chicken skewers, wings, baked chicken in large pieces, just chicken, beef / pork in tomato sauce with mushrooms, stewed beef with vegetables, beans with sausages, pasta with minced meat, eggplant with minced meat like moussaki, cold salad with pasta and tuna (this is not all in one day, but there were 2-3 different meats + fish to choose from for a meal). Garnish rice with seafood, lentils, vegetables, french fries, potato wedges, peas with vegetables, corn with vegetables, baked zucchini, baked eggplant, potato gratin (also garnish 3-4 per meal). Olives. Marinated anchovies in lemon marinade and some other. There were once mussels for dinner, the other day snails with rosemary. Bread. Their drinks are local (beer, rum, cola, sprite and the like). And then, I didn’t remember everything, because the food was not very monotonous, you can choose and eat. And keep in mind that I did not list everything far, just what I remember.
But I am without big requests, as for me, a normal meal is 3 times a day. + there is a snack time at the pool, + there is a coffee break (coffee, tea, ice cream, pastries).
There are 2 pools.
We did not buy excursions because we got an unsuccessful arrival and departure. I must say right away that the cheapest we had was 72 euros per person. If there was a more comfortable time, we would take one. If you wish, you can go to the nearest city yourself, at least take a walk, we went and everything is fine, we didn’t get lost)
The sea is beautiful, amazing. The beach is close. Please note that 2 sunbeds and an umbrella cost 10 euros. The views are incredible. There is a wild rocky beach nearby, there are very few people there, mostly locals come. And there is another beach further away.
In general, I liked this vacation. I was satisfied. Service in the hotel itself could be better of course, they have something to strive for.
On the eastern side of Crete, where the hotel is located, there are not so many sights, but who likes to broaden their horizons, they will be found (Agios Nicholas, near Elounda and Plaka, boats go from these three cities to the island of Spinalonga (the island of lepers, where the former leper colony was located , many gorges, one of them is Richtis, the palm beach of Vai, south of Ierapetra, this is all that you will definitely have time to travel around in 2 days. Further to the west of Heraklion, etc. ) Rent a car - or at the hotel at the reception, either through a guide, or in the same village, leaving the hotel on the left, on the left side after walking for about 5 minutes, there is a car rental. The Greeks are impudent (maybe only in the hotel), there is no customer orientation, just do not pay attention.
But the sea. . . TALE. It is better not to offer this hotel to picky people (for example, Greece is famous for Feta, olives, it is difficult to find them in a hotel, they are practically non-existent). We will not return to it, but from another region of Crete, Mirabello Bay is worth a stop.
Water was constantly flowing in the room, they asked to solve the problem, then, then, as a result, they said at the counter - pay 75 euros plus a tour fee for each day and change the room, if you don’t like it, leave... Is this normal ?? ? They will pretend that they removed it only after the tip) The staff is rude, they don't care about you at all. I haven't seen this yet. The culmination of everything was the acquaintance with the guys from abroad, from whom we found out for how many rooms the Mistral sells them and to the Russians, it’s a kapets, you can see through travel agents that you can push through vouchers more expensively and not take a steam bath... why, stupid tourists will buy everything... Ah, about tours, there, if you bought a tour of the island not from their partner, but in the city at times cheaper, then the director then raises the stench, what the hell... imagine, this is in our time, who do you think you are ?? ? Rogues.
We arrived at the hotel at 21.20 pm. The canteen/restaurant is open until 21.00. A very pleasant smiling elderly man at the reception (it is he who does not speak Russian, they spoke English) immediately directed us to the dining room, where dinner was waiting for us, which we were pleasantly surprised, since we no longer counted on him) Then he issued cards / keys from numbers.
There were 9 of us, we got the rooms based on what we ordered: 1 room for 3 people with a sea view, and 3 rooms for 2 people without a view.
As far as I remember correctly, in 2017 Greece introduced a tourist tax, which is paid once in all hotels upon check-in, the amount of which depends on the number of hotel stars, it was 18 euros per room.
Rooms: fresh new renovation everywhere, soft very comfortable beds, snow-white linens. A TV with Smart TV, so that in addition to Russian-language channels, you can use smart if necessary. In the shower, solid soap + liquid gel / shampoo in dispensers. The view from the sea view room is just amazing.
The Internet in the hotel is unlimited, but paid, we knew about it, and this amount was immediately included in the budget).
Food: I really liked it. Yes, not Turkey. But everything is different and very tasty. Breakfast, of course, like everywhere else, everything is the same: pastries are very tasty, everything for cereals, sausages, cheeses, eggs, sausages, fried ham, vegetables, fruits, yogurts... Lunch and dinner are always meat and fish, various side dishes (lasagna, dalma... ), salads . Meat was always different: beef, lamb, chicken... for dinner + there were always seafood: either rice with shrimp, or noodles with octopus, or mussels in a shell... You definitely won’t stay hungry). There is a coffee machine in the dining room and at the reception, so for lovers of this drink - this is paradise). In the morning, juices are collected in a vending machine in the dining room, at lunch and dinner, everything is alcoholic and non-alcoholic at the bar.
Once we went for lunch at the cafe "Panorama" located 5 minutes from the hotel. I recommend - very tasty. A large plate of fisherman's salad - which includes octopus, mussels, huge shrimps, vegetables - costs 9 euros. A glass of beer - 3-4 euros.
On account of drinking: the bar in the hotel is open from 11 to 22.45. Tasty alcohol (not like in Egypt)) The bar works in turn during the day: usually from 11 to lunch on the 1st floor, after dinner at the pool on the 4th floor (since in the morning everything is at sea, and after dinners are relocated to the pool, and then again for the evening on the first floor.
The hotel is located on a mountain and you can move around the floors, and platforms with charming locations can be both on the steps and on 3 elevators.
Beach: Yes, there are not a small number of steps to the beach, and it's hard to climb to the top, but after a lot of food and drink, it's even more "+" than a minus. The beach is public, the cost of sun loungers on the beach is from 8 euros to 10. It is possible to take your own bedding and lie down wherever you like. The length of the beach is very large, the entrance is accordingly varied. There are places where there are stones, and it is not very comfortable to enter, but there are places where there is sand - everything is up to you. The water is so transparent that you can see the pedicure up to a millimeter) The blueness of the water and the views around are simply mesmerizing - very very beautiful. By the way, when we drove past other hotels, and comparing I can say that their beaches and the color of the water are completely far from this beach.
We took a minibus for a walk in the city of Agios Nikolaos. The reception has a timetable. The fare for one way / 1 person is 1.60 euros, the journey takes about 20 minutes. The bus stop is located directly under the hotel.
We took a tour of the Cave of Zeus. Departure at 6.40 arrival at 18.00. The day before departure, on the advice of the guide, we contacted the reception informing us about the upcoming excursion. On the very day of departure, we were fed breakfast, and were given a lunchbox (sandwich with cheese and ham, water, tomato, cucumber and peach).
Once a week (on Tuesdays) the hotel hosts a disco with a guest DJ. It was fun)
On the day of departure, having handed over the room at 12.00, we were pleasantly surprised to receive a gift from the hotel - a voucher for a free lunch.
I want to separately thank a very nice friendly girl at the Reception, whose name is Artemis, and all the staff.
We were very pleased with the hotel. The views are really very charming. The hotel is awesome. The staff is friendly.
By the way, before the trip, I found a page of this hotel on Instagram, and I received prompt answers to all my questions…
And at the end, regarding the reviews, I want to quote the parable about the fly and the bee:
A fly in the most flowering meadow will find an unclean place and sit on it, and a bee in the most smelly swamp will find a lotus flower and collect nectar from it. We only find what we are looking for. And how your vacation will be depends only on you)
Location on the outskirts, to the nearest town, where you can walk in the evening - 10 km. The staff believes that everything can be forgiven for their appearance and does not hesitate to talk about it, but this is not so. Some guests do not differ in upbringing, and the staff does not make comments, they scream, get drunk, walk around the hotel in a bikini - it is especially nice when almost naked ladies ride in the elevator and her thong is at the level of the child's nose. There is a lot of garbage and plastic in the sea. There are plenty of equally beautiful places in Crete, but with adequate staff and conditions corresponding to their stars. We have something to compare. We will never go there again under any circumstances.
Impressions about the HOTEL are good! The hotel is clean, the furniture is normal, everything is comfortable and beautiful. The shortcomings are not significant - a very small shower stall, I was 172 cm tall and weighed 60 kg, it was difficult to fit there, if a person is larger, it will be difficult for him to wash there, but there are large shower cabins in the toilets on the 1st floor, they are clean and it is quite possible to take a shower, so there is a way out! Cleaning touched me... after it I found our maid's black hair on the floor and cleaned it, I just can't stand it. There was no soap and other cosmetics in the room, towels were changed 2 times, the bed was not changed for 7 days, but it was not dirty either. In general the hotel is clean and good. A Pegasus tourist took us there, he settled the entire hotel and we rested exclusively in a Russian-speaking company. The guys at the reception know Russian, and there is a Russian administrator girl. In the bar and canteen, Russian is known only at the level of “tea, coffee, with ice, etc. ”, but this is quite enough to explain yourself and get what you need In general, the staff is great! They were friendly and polite, no conflicts, everything is fine.
KITCHEN - fed us EXCELLENT!! ! There was a lot of meat, chicken, fish. Lots of vegetables (tomatoes, eggplants), cheese, vegetables (melons and watermelons), many types of pasta and pasta. In general, it’s hard to stay hungry! True, the choice of sweets is not the same as in Egypt, but ice cream or cream + fruit. They have very tasty vegetables and fruits, even tastier than our Ukrainian ones And everything was cooked correctly, not fried / overcooked, but baked, stewed, boiled... it was also deep-fried, though... but there wasn’t much of it... We rested on “all inclusive” ”, drank local wine... not so hot, of course, but you can drink...
BEACH - SUPER!! ! Indeed, I agree with previous reviews - the beach is the best on the entire coast of the Cretan Lasithi. The water is the cleanest, the entrance is smooth, the sand is clean (every day the Greek uncle cleans it, I saw it myself), there are enough sun loungers for everyone, there are shadows, there are places in the sun. The color of the water is emerald. We were in Palm Paradise, it’s worse there... of course, for a change you can go, but there are huge flat stones in the water and it’s a dubious pleasure to go into the water along them... but there is a very beautiful observation deck, spectacular pictures are obtained ; -)
The descent to the beach is really steep, but it's not long. . . the first time, of course, is tiring. . . but then you get used to it and it's quite normal for a warm-up. But with wheelchairs or leg problems - you won’t pass! You will need to detour along the road, it is 500-600 meters and back also “uphill”, so if you are looking for a gentle descent, you are not here.
EXCURSIONS - we took an excursion to the island of Spinalonga from our Pegasus, 60 euros per person. The organization of the tour is bad, the Greeks are lazy and cunning… they want to work less and earn more… so everything was done at random… I understood why you need to take a car and drive yourself! Just because the excursions are disgustingly organized At the car rental they will give you a map and tell you everything, there are no mega-super-sights in Crete, and you can see everything that is there for yourself.
ARRIVAL / DEPARTURE - it was disgustingly badly organized! Upon arrival, we were at the control for an hour, because there was a queue of 3 planes and 3 girls in the windows... and planes from Russia (I don’t know where exactly), Kharkov and Donetsk. And all in a stuffy room with no air conditioning, children and pregnant women were sincerely sorry. Departure is even worse!! ! One and a half hours for registration, because 3 planes (Donetsk, Zaporozhye, Kharkiv) and 3 girls at registration. We simply didn’t have time to go to duty free, because our flight was postponed 20 minutes earlier... as it turned out, this is a common situation. Therefore, do not expect to buy any souvenirs in duty, they are really cheaper there... but you may simply not get there... as it happened with us.
IN GENERAL - I liked the hotel, the beautiful sea, the nature is beautiful, but not “ah! ”, the service is not there, the hotel is really boring... it is located in the village and there are only a few cafes / restaurants, but you can’t wear an evening dress there... In general, Crete didn’t strike me with anything, I was expecting Europe... but I arrived in Yevpatoria...
