A sincere atmosphere in everything - from the smiling and humorous receptionist, incredibly positive waiters, to the cleaning lady, whom we know only in absentia, but we are grateful for everything.
We had a Deliluxe Sea View with Private Pool, which is in the new part of the hotel with a renovation. Of course, there were stains on the walls and even a stain on the linen, but all this is erased under the influence of a sincere approach to service in the restaurant, at the reception and in everything.
In general, everything is of an excellent European level 4.
The main audience is European pensioners, the whole day in the hotel there is complete relaxation and lounge. But we spent a lot of time in the nearby town of Agios Nikolaus (walk 200m from the hotel, already the city! ) Traveling by car, so the quiet romantic in the hotel was in the theme and pleased with the surrounding decency and dress code for dinner (everyone came there as a secular rout : ).
The food is excellent for me, as for a person close to a dietary one - vegetables - fresh and boiled, fish - varied and enough. My husband complained a couple of times about the meat. but always found goodies. A whole kettle of excellent brewed coffee on the table every breakfast (it is better not to drink in vending machines). Amazing Cretan tea in samovars that cured our colds in 2 days. Attentive, funny and fast waiters. According to the all inclusive system, there were still snacks during the day, but you don’t really have time to get hungry. Only the best holiday experience. I highly recommend everyone to travel around the area - at least the city, Elounda, Plaka, a giant wind station, the beaches below Kalo Horia (there is also a cool observation deck), and if further away - Kritsa, Zeus's cave and so on on the map. Excellent area of Crete. Excellent service at the hotel. External prices in stores (even in villages) are intimidating : ) Greek salad in taverns is made not with feta, but with cheese a la brynza. Everywhere desserts as a compliment. The new track is beautiful and comfortable!
We stayed at the hotel in July. It was not easy to figure out which room to order, but after reading a bunch of reviews, we figured it out. The hotel consists of the main building (there are the smallest rooms with old furniture) called Miramare 4+ Main building. Another pricing policy for Miramare4+ side sea view bungalows. The next category of more expensive rooms is BungalowPanoramic View and the same ones with a pool. All this is Miramare hotel 4+.
“Miramare Ariadni Village” and “Miramare Luxury Suites & Villas 5*” are located on the same territory. Several times witnessed scandals at the reception due to confusion. We ordered one thing from a travel agency, in fact, at a price - another. Therefore, if you decide to relax in this hotel, figure out exactly which apartment you are going to.
We took two rooms: a bungalow with a side sea view Miramare4 + and a Bungalow Panoramic View. If it is important for you which TV to watch, regular or plasma, then you need to take a second one and in the toilet room the difference is that one has a curtain, the other has glass (it doesn’t matter for us, since we spend all the time outside the room, we only sleep there ). We, instead of the usual, were given a family room for 4 people at no extra charge. It should be noted that the hotel is located on a mountainside and from any place you can see the sea. It is very pleasant to fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the waves and the ringing of the bells of local churches.
The hotel has Russian speaking staff. At the reception - Janis, at the car rental - Yana.
There is practically no territory of the hotel - these are levels and steps. There are elevators that will safely deliver to the desired floor. I could not understand from the reviews how the elevators work, it turns out that from the entrance to the reception and the restaurant there is one elevator, from the reception to two wings (left and right) there are two more different elevators.
A chic lobby bar where you can sit on the terrace in the evening, play cards or play billiards.
The hotel has a spa - a special offer - 45 euros for two for an hour of the procedures you have chosen (you can massage the face, body, peeling, hammam, bath).
Very good restaurant. Crockery, serving, cutlery - everything is white, clean, new (for me, dishes and serving are very important). The choice of dishes is decent, there has always been poultry, fish and another type of meat has always changed, seafood. Sweets are not in such an assortment as in Egypt, but more than enough. I highly recommend trying the cheeses. Ice cream for free. You can’t come to dinner in a bathing suit, the manager will not let you in.
The beaches in Greece are all municipal, free. The hotel has a small beach and, if you go to the right side, the beach is large, sandy, equipped with sunbeds. By time - 5 minutes there, 10 minutes back (time difference due to mountainous terrain).
The cost of two sun loungers and an umbrella is 7 euros. The beach is not very wide, there are three rows of sunbeds, and then you can lie on a towel, but I don’t advise it, because because of the river that flows near the beach, the sand is always wet, and it’s not very pleasant to lie in the reeds. You can take separate sun loungers and an umbrella (2.5 sun beds, 2 umbrellas).
The hotel does not provide towels, but you can leave 10 euros as a deposit for a clean towel. 2 euros as a down payment, then, when changing towels, a surcharge of 2 euros.
There is a safe in the room, but paid - 20 euros per week. There is no free Wi-Fi (5 euros for an hour and 20 euros for a day). Only in cafes you can connect somewhere. On the beach, too, no, everything is password-protected.
Car rental at the hotel from 40 euros. You should pay attention to the availability of insurance and that the mileage is unlimited. We took a B class car for 60 euros Suzuki swift (that still “frisky” machine, just go along the serpentine and drive). Two options were offered, a mechanic's box and an automatic. Immediately the car is filled, this is half a tank of gasoline, taking into account that you will return it with the same amount. We spent only 7 liters (19 UAH per liter of gasoline), despite the fact that we visited the Lassithi valley and the cave of Zeus. Also a water park. Nothing more was accomplished in a day. The tour of the Lassithi Valley and the Cave of Zeus cost 61 euros each for our guide, but we spent 4 euros per adult on the entrance to the cave, children are free. Water park 25 euros per adult, 16 euros per child (+3 euros per locker). The road to the cave is serpentine, and there is nothing to see in the cave. While climbing to the cave (well, about 1 km of a steep climb, you always think - well, why did I climb here !!! ) I don’t recommend it, it would be better to go to the aquarium and the dinosaur park, but that’s next time.
In front of the cave, 5 km away, there is a monastery of the 13th century, where they bought icons, mountain tea. We met a monk who was in Ukraine in Mariupol and Svyatogorsk. Almost countryman. That's what pleased in Greece - so it's churches at every step. No one forces you to wrap yourself in a pareo (in my opinion, only we know what it is), to buy candles. Everything is free, if possible, bring a donation.
The hotel is located near the town of Agios Nikolaos. In the information center they took a map and walked on it. To get to the city center, go straight ahead without turning to the ring, but wherever you want. Shops are open until 2 pm (and they still complain that there is a crisis!! ! Have you tried to work!? ), on some days after the fiesta from 5 pm to 9 pm. Gift shops are open all day. As we later found out, there is nothing to buy in stores, everything is the same as ours, only many times more expensive. The same souvenirs can be bought at the airport, the prices are the same.
What we liked: the hotel, the attitude of the staff towards the tourist, safety in the city (policemen on motorcycles patrol every 15 minutes, open cars stand on the sides of the road, everything is lit), roads, clear sea, prices in shops and supermarkets, national food.
What I didn’t like: the guide Julia from Pegasus (it’s immediately clear that the person is only interested in excursions. The answer to the question about renting a car was simply amazing - I will only talk with the driver, as if I’m down and won’t convey the information to the driver. It seems that that this Julia, at least, is the head of Kamchatka. Naturally, interest in her immediately disappeared, what to cast pearls in front of....?! ).
Constant winds in Crete, lack of vegetation (only olive trees on the slopes of the mountains), opening hours of shops, pharmacies.
But there are much more advantages than disadvantages, therefore - everything is in Crete !! !
I really liked the hotel a solid 4-ka
very tasty food
no animation
on the territory there are 3 hotels 3 *, 4 *, 5 * all dined in one restaurant
i had room 820 it is 4* bungalow
with a good side view of the sea and mountains
5 * ki they have separate pools near the room,
and each hotel has its own swimming pool
there are 3 pools that you can use, a very beautiful view of the sea, because the hotel is on a mountain, but there is an elevator, so it's not difficult to go down.
but near the hotel there is a sandy beach for a fee and a free pebble beach with a lagoon with very clear water
water was +22 in May from the 22nd
there are few Russians in the hotel - about 10% for the whole hotel
I recommend this hotel!
this is a quiet hotel not far from Agios Nikolaos
I advise this hotel for families with children, very quiet hotel!!! !
we had panorama room 703. view of the sea, mountains and Agios Nikolaos. Wonderful! the number itself is normal. cleaning. . . let's just say: inconspicuous. Well, okay, as long as there is no sand under your feet. Take shower gels and shampoos with you. upon arrival, they stood there, and then they reported once in two weeks. and the quality is questionable. yours is better!! ! There is a hair dryer, but not very convenient. In principle, you can dry your hair, but it's hard to style))). The hotel has three elevators. worked normally. but we often walked on foot. there were 186 steps to our room, not counting any transitions. not for the lazy, but we liked it. The complex consists of three hotels: Miramare 4*, Miramare Village 5* and Ariadna Village 3*. Ariadne is at the bottom right of the hotel. I don’t know how inside, but they look like new pretty villas. its large swimming pool, Miramare Village are to the left of the hotel. Luxurious duplex villas. there are also rooms with private pools in Miramar itself. they are in the general photo to the left of the hotel. and at the very top there is next to the villas. they didn't really impress us. if only with small children without leaving the room... but for a couple it’s somehow not very good. firstly, they are connected by a thin partition and upstairs there is another room with a balcony... not to retire... ) although . . (what if the room is two-story and the balcony is also theirs? )
extraordinary beauty!!! ! especially the village of Oia - blue and white and a volcanic beach with black sand. and it turned out that Santorini is the island of St. Irene (Santa Irini), and its second name is Fira, it is purely Greek. Of course, I'm also Irina!! ! how not to bring your name icon from there !!! ! Class! full day excursion: from 5 am to 11 pm. the second excursion is the plateau of Lassithi and the cave of Zeus. here the price is 60 euros per person. also imported to wineries, an olive oil factory, a pottery workshop and a shop. those who wished could make a vase with their own hands. We visited the monastery of Kera in the mountains, ate in a tavern. It's cheap and delicious here! meat and potatoes cooked in the oven, Greek salad and fresh watermelon cost 15 euros. and here we come to the cave. we decided to go uphill for about 20 minutes in a local taxi - donkeys. they are so cute, long-eared. donkeys and cats are the sights of Crete. and walked back down. the cave itself is about 70 m deep, everything is highlighted in green and purple. constant temperature +17 degrees. and the lake in which Zeus's mother bathed. threw coins there, asked for Zev's power. impressive, of course! Stalactites - stalagmites, moisture flowing over stones, and most of all the legend itself, of course. you still feel the excitement and awe in such places))).
in Agios Nikolas itself there is a very beautiful, absolutely round and deep (up to 65 m) lake Voulismene. The lake has its own history, but I will not describe it here))) there are taverns around. every night we walked to one of them, ordered retsina there - local dry white wine with the addition of resin. pleasant tart taste and smell. 6.5 euros for a 0.5 l jug and free WI-FI there. sat talking with loved ones, admiring the lake. Of course, you can buy retsina in any supermarket for 1.5 euros and drink at home on the balcony, but the buzz is not the same))))
You can swim in the sea at night, no one forbids. city beaches. The beauty! Another good place is that Mirabello Bay is closed by mountains from the sea. in September-October the winds are already blowing and the sea is rough. We didn't have any waves. the sea is clean and calm. turquoise! not the sea, but a fairy tale !!!!
brought olive oil as souvenirs from the trip, cosmetics made on olive oil, well, all sorts of sponges made from natural sponges.
If anyone has any questions, I'll be happy to answer : )
