100% diving! This is the main reason why you need to go to Egypt. Everything else is highly doubtful. I have never seen such disgusting drivers! Overturned buses on TV - direct proof!
аватар TanjaYad
Colored canyon and St. Catherine's Monastery, Rasmukhamed coral reserve on a yacht. Tiran Island is not very.
аватар masichka
In Luxor, it's really a historic place - $100. And extreme will be quad bikes with a visit to the Bedouins - $ 35 for two. You can also (if finances allow) go to Jerusalem or Jordan - approximately $ 150.
аватар Ksuxa_Donetsk
Pyramids - what could be grander in Egypt ... There are also night excursions with a laser show !!!!!!
аватар Pchelko
Yes, thanks everyone =)
But the ATVs told me that they were not interesting, that you were just driving through the desert and not a step to the left, not to the right ...
аватар sales_epi
I did not like. Indeed, you need to go "trace after", a little behind - they start yelling ... Many then had a backache, apparently from constant bouncing on the stones. Dinner in the village - a pure divorce. You get on a camel for free, you get off for money.

I agree with TanjaYad, go to St. Catherine's Monastery + Colored Canyon - $65. I still have impressions of the canyon, but I went there 3 years ago and I still want to go there. but they don’t seem to take you to Luxor from Sharm, it’s too far, this is a Hurghada excursion, only if it costs $ 250 by plane, sea excursions.

You are traveling for 9 days, so I would not recommend long excursions. Luxor is very interesting, but very far away (you have to go there from Hurghada). Jerusalem and Jordan are also great, but in order to see everything normally, you need to take a 3-day program, and you don’t have much time (and to skip everything in 1.5 days - there will be little pleasure, but you will get tired, so you won’t get anywhere else want). We went to Sharm for 12 days, and also chose an excursion program for ourselves so that we could relax and have a cultural program. Mostly chose on the recommendations of experienced friends. I can recommend:
1. Diving in the Ras Muhamed reserve (it is worse in Tirana) - just buy yourself masks and fins in advance, and be sure to use mouthpieces for scuba diving (believe me, taking them in your mouth is dirty and after the Arabs is not very pleasant and hygienic). Excursion for two thirds of the day (in the morning).
2. Take a taxi to the Old Town - and take a walk and buy souvenirs (do not forget to bargain confidently).
3.
Take a taxi to dinner in the evening in Naama Bay - there are a lot of restaurants with seafood. Be sure to order the seafood and lobster soup. We were recommended restaurants Zvezda Sinai and Ali Baba.
4. Don't refuse to ride ATVs in empty places

4. Do not refuse to go on a quad bike to the desert (in the evening) - not expensive, but quite interesting. You don't walk in a real desert every day. Drive through the desert, meet the sunset in the desert - also romantic ... Excursion for several hours (between lunch and dinner). Take glasses with you (so that dust does not fly into your eyes), scarves or arafats (cover your head, neck, mouth and nose), long-sleeved clothes and trousers (send all clothes to the wash immediately - there is a lot of dust). And you can ride a camel for only 7 pounds (bargain!).
5. And one longer excursion - either a colored canyon, or Mount Moses.
We went to Mount Moses with a visit to the monastery of St. Catherine. Mount Moses - memories for a lifetime! Climbing to the top of the mountain on foot and meeting the dawn there is far from an ordinary event! But this excursion was very difficult - it is quite difficult to go up for more than 4 hours.
Although for $ 10 you can ride a camel (but the memories will not be so vivid).
The monastery was less impressive - a crowd of people, a queue at the entrance (in the scorching sun) and a small territory of the monastery, where tourists are allowed. Departure at 10 pm, return for dinner the next day.
Have a nice rest!

from the extreme ones - climbing Mount Moses and meeting the dawn. But this is very extreme. On foot upstairs, four hours, in total darkness, along a narrow path, over a cliff. A horror story on this topic: recently there was information on the Internet about a tourist who had fallen down. True, the ubiquitous Bedouins, as always, offer camels for climbing. But then the whole point of visiting the holy mountain is lost, on the top of which, supposedly, at sunrise, all sins are forgiven.
аватар Pchelko
oo =) thanks again to everyone for the detailed description of the excursions =)
a couple of questions:
1) about diving. P-Serg, what don't fins and masks give?
when we were in Turkey, they gave us everything there. Even for those who have not dived to the depths, just swim.
2) Does the tour to the Colored Canyon also take place at night?
By the way, about ATVs, that it’s dusty there, I know, because. I rode them in Turkey, by the way, there is a ride along all sorts of winding paths =)
And another question, maybe not in the topic, but I'll ask =)
We still have slippers for the sea from Turkey, are they suitable for Egypt? ))
аватар Janny25
most likely slippers will fit :)
Look like sneakers? - so this is what they are!
We were in Sharm.
We watched the pyramids - it's at least once in a lifetime, but it's worth seeing! $70-80 per person.
Were in the Ras Mohamed nature reserve, very pretty :) the price seems to be $ 30-40
Diving is for everybody. Personally, I'm afraid I don't trust their equipment.
And you can see all the fish and swimming in a mask.
аватар Liiz
slippers? To go to sea? :)) fit, of course!
And no one will take you to the Colored Canyon at night. It is difficult to pass there even during the day in one place: you need to squeeze between two stones, and then also jump down. Our guide called it a "second birth".
аватар P_Serg
Fins and masks are given there.
If you need it for 1 time - take it from them. If you want to use them again (for example, for snorkeling at the hotel) - buy yourself houses and take them with you to Egypt. Fins are selected according to the size of the foot, so it will be much more convenient to swim in "native" fins. Their masks are also rather worn out, they do not always fit well to the face. In addition, they use not a special aerosol, but ordinary saliva to prevent fogging of the mask (not very hygienic and not very pleasant).
аватар Pchelko
and now it’s clear .. yes. we will take our own masks =)
slippers, yes, similar to tight-fitting sneakers with holes on the sides =)))
And to squeeze between the stones, is it really for a person, so to speak, not thin? =)
аватар lvenok
real) but the impressions are not forgotten!) there is a rather large hole, it turns out like you are going down a hill!
аватар Liiz
very thin - unrealistic. In our group there was one such not thin aunt - 120 kilograms. So they left her in a jeep to wait for the others. They didn't take her to the canyon, because the road through the canyon is in one direction: at the descent into the canyon, the drivers dropped off all of the jeeps and left for the place where the group climbed out of the canyon. And the aunt was waiting for us for almost two hours, while we overcame a difficult, but very exciting path.
аватар Liiz
so that the guides themselves track and remove from the descent really not thin ....
аватар masichka
take another water park, it is the only one in Sharm, VERY cool and extreme !!! costs only $ 30 for two from 11:00 to 17:00 (were in November). there are 4 separate sections, each with at least 5 slides - and this is only for adults. plus a little less for children and a canal, like in Venice, for boats. I woke up a couple of nights later with a feeling of adrenaline! ;-)
аватар Pchelko
good =)
is it worth taking excursions from guides who are not from a tour operator, but on their own on the streets, for example, such excursions as a water park, diving and all sorts of small ones?
Or is it better not to risk it?
аватар primaza
I would still recommend Jerusalem, very impressed! Of course, everything is at a pace, but the day was enough. Also in Sharm for 9 days, they didn’t want to take an excursion at first, like there weren’t many days, and they thought that the child might get tired ... NOTHING LIKE IT! went and with five-year-old children (our 8) really liked it.
аватар TanjaYad
We took on the beach. We went to Tsv.Kanyon + St. Catherine, Rasmukhamed. Everything is fine. We went to Tiran from the hotel, there is no difference, only more expensive.
аватар masichka
we took an excursion to simple chocks who walked around the hotel and on the beach. and everything is fine, no problem. and guides charge twice as much and book tours through the same Egyptians :)
аватар P_Serg
Simple excursions such as quad bikes and diving can be taken cheaper on the beach. If you know English, it will be no problem. If not, you can get into a group where the guide and instructors do not speak Russian.
For long-distance excursions - the Colored Canyon, the monastery of St. Catherine, Mount Moses, the pyramids - it is better to take from a guide (you may not have your own tour operator), because. otherwise, you can get on a bus without air conditioning (and this is essential in the heat), the guide may not speak Russian.
As a rule, excursions bought from a guide at the hotel are conducted by a Russian-speaking guide of the same tour operator.
аватар lvenok
at the expense of diving not at the hotel, it's better not to risk it, because. you can be forgotten there, they don't look after you there. when we took an excursion to a paradise island not at the hotel, there was a stop at sea and the "guides" threw food to the fish, which was not very smart, because. predatory fish could also come to it, but lucky
аватар masichka
Well, I don’t know, we took from ordinary people (although they had their own company for excursions). everything was very good: everything was told and shown to everyone.
