Before leaving on vacation, which took place at the Sea Magic Hotel, I read a lot of unpleasant things about him. Now, after returning, I decided to write my own review. Maybe he will help someone in making a decision - to go there or still it is worth abstaining. So, we went together for a week from August 27 to September 4 through Tez Tour. The flight went without delay, representatives of the tour operator met quickly. The same can be said about the return trip.
Location and territory
The hotel is located 15-20 minutes drive from the airport. From the point of view of delivery there / back, it is convenient, on the other hand, the noise of planes taking off and landing is really audible. True, not all the time. We came to the conclusion that it depends on the direction of the wind, which affects which side to approach from. In any case, this noise did not bother us personally. On the contrary, it was even curious to look at the planes flying past already quite low above the ground and relatively close to us.

There are many steps in the hotel. In the heat, it’s really hard to drag them up and down, but then again, everything is relative. We did not overwork much, moving along them. Rather, it can become a problem for older people or for those who are not sweet in the heat, and here you also have to constantly climb the stairs. And so it doesn't really matter. At least it was for us.
The territory is very large, green. There is a bus running around the area. We did not resort to his services, as there was no need for this. I once saw how he was leaving one of the beaches on the eve of dinner, that is, at the moment when everyone rushed from the beach. It looked like a typical Moscow minibus at rush hour. The people were already standing on top of each other's heads, and this in 40-degree heat! So it is better to settle somewhere closer to the sea, from where it is not far from the main building, than to use this bus later. There is no air conditioning, by the way.
Check-in and room
The check-in happened relatively quickly, or at least without major delays. At the reception handed an envelope with basic information about the hotel, bracelets, room key. Then the hotel employee took our bag and dragged it to the room, and we stomped after him. We paid extra for the room (Superior room) on the tour and we got a room in the house, which is located closest to the sea with a view of it. The only thing was that it was the first floor (there are only two of them), respectively, the sea view was very conditional. Rather, in front of the nose was at first a beach with umbrellas, and already between them and the palm trees you could see the sea. The view was much better on the second floor. But there was not the slightest desire to deal with this matter.
As for the number. He is big. There is a fairly large safe with a combination lock. Spacious bathroom with bathtub. As for the shower, there was an impression that there was no hot water or something was broken somewhere. In general, I had to wash with extremely cold water. It was not always comfortable, but in the 40th heat it is permissible.

The room has centralized air conditioning (worked, by the way, for the glory). But in general, everything is very shabby, not the first freshness that catches the eye. We also had one major broken closet. Once I spotted an ant in the room, but none of the insects seemed to annoy.
Our room was also connected by a door to another room. The door was closed, but by some miracle, our newly settled neighbors, not realizing that this was no longer their territory, managed to open it and “break in” to us)) however, quickly realizing the mistake, they retreated. In general, nothing special, but not pleasant either.
The room was traditionally cleaned once a day, towels were changed like every three days. It was the first time in Egypt and, having heard about how different figures are made from towels, I was eager to see it with my own eyes. But they only made them twice. But it's just an addition)
Nutrition
We did not go to those restaurants where it was necessary to sign up for the day, and there are two of them (Indian and Chinese, if my memory serves me right). Ate in those two that are in the main building. There is one more paid fish, where, accordingly, they also did not go, and one located on the street. I'll start with the last one. Since it is on the street, it is a little hot to be there, although it is quite comfortable in the evening. In addition, in the evenings, various romantic songs are sung live to the music. We went there twice and both times did not like the utter disregard for us as such. Actually, we did not demand special attention to ourselves, but when our table was already thoroughly filled with empty dishes, and the employees passing by did not clean it up, while carefully discussing the next table (with Italians !! ), it was strange and extremely unpleasant. Only when they stopped past a passing employee, almost grabbing his hand, because he did not react to the words, did he remove part of the dishes, although the tray on which he put it allowed him to remove all the plates. We didn't get drinks either. There were two calls there and both with such an attitude. But more on that below.

As for the restaurants in the main building, in general we liked it. Those queues that I read about in other reviews were not as scary as they were described. First, they are not always available. But even when there are really a lot of people who want to eat, it was not necessary to wait more than 5 minutes. All in all, no problem here.
The food is delicious and the cuisine is all European. Fortunately, they didn't get poisoned. There were fruits, and meat, and pastries, which I really liked. The meat was sometimes just divine. Even at the entrance to Ch. the building from the side of the pool on the street prepared shawarma (or something like that) and kebabs. So you could still eat meat there. All in all, no complaints about the food. On the contrary, they were pleasantly surprised.
Probably the biggest problem was getting a drink. They either did not come to us for a long time, or, having received an order, they did not come for a long time. It wasn't always like this, but often. Once I had to remind about the order three times, and only then they brought it. During the day, you could always eat and snack, so you didn’t have to starve. Bottled water could be obtained in any bar or restaurant for free in any quantity.
Beaches
The coastline is long and divided into three beaches. There are a lot of sun loungers, so there are no problems with them at all. Two entrances to the sea through corals on pontoons. True, there is no pontoon on one, there are only concrete piles submerged in water, which you can walk on, but they are very slippery, so there is a risk of an unsuccessful fall. The third entrance is sandy. There is a pier near the sandy beach, where many yachts and boats constantly run. Probably the most annoying thing about this is that they disperse the fish. During the week of our stay at the hotel, we saw the largest number of fish on the day of arrival (Friday). On other days, boats rushed along the reefs, and the fish became three times less. The water is clean, but near the sandy beach you can find floating plastic bags in the water, and sometimes a plastic bottle (. In general, the sea is gorgeous!
Discrimination

Now with regard to vacationers and the attitude towards them from the staff. There were many Russians, Italians in the hotel, less Germans and French. Other nationalities were also represented, but not to the same extent. Despite the fact that everyone is in the same hotel, everyone has different bracelets - some are white, some are red, blue, orange, etc. After that, we understood what was the matter - this is a banal division into which country you came from. For example, Russians, Ukrainians were given light blue bracelets, Italians wore blue ones. All this allowed the staff to quickly orient themselves - to whom how much attention should be paid and whether to pay it at all. I can’t say that we suffered a lot from this, but it was strongly felt. Sometimes it was very difficult to get the most elementary attention, while around the representatives from other countries practically at the next table, except that there were no dances. This is perhaps the biggest minus and the most unpleasant aftertaste that was left after visiting the hotel.
The drinks
From alcohol, we drank mostly beer and rum-cola. I didn’t like their local rum, but my husband liked it. The taste and color, as they say. Beer was poured from cans and bottles. So the quality was quite adequate. Juice is a soluble chemical.
Animation
Some games, aerobics were held in the central pool. Dances were taught on the beaches. I saw a yoga class or something like that. In general, we are not fans of animation, and for us it’s just better that it doesn’t exist, so I can’t say anything about the degree of its adequacy. In general, they didn’t bother much, and the people who frolicked with them seemed to be pleased. Sometimes a small pool (located closer to the sea) in the evenings arranged discos. I just did not understand until the end - there was a paid entrance there or not. It is possible that it is still paid. As for discos, there is one at the entrance to the hotel. I haven't been there, so I can't really say.
People played football, volleyball, table tennis. All in all, you can have fun.
Pools
The hotel has two swimming pools. One large one near the main building and a small and very small one closer to the sea. Near the large pool there is a bar where you can drink your desired drink without leaving the water. The pool is divided into two parts. In the second, an artificial wave was sometimes included. There is also a slide, but during the week that we were there, it did not work. And only on the day of departure they saw that it had been opened.
To summarize all of the above, at least a 5-star hotel does not pull at all. At best 4, but in theory only 3.
In general, we had a good rest, in general, everything was fine!
