The food was very good, even the most picky will find something to their liking. Every evening there were themed dinners with live music. A lot of delicious pastries, cakes, fruits, ice cream. A variety of side dishes, a lot of different meats, seafood.
The room was cleaned every day, towels were also changed. The staff are all friendly. All things lay in a conspicuous place, nothing was missing.
In general, they did not regret that they purchased excursions from a third-party organization, and not from a tour operator. The choice is simply huge, everything is organized harmoniously. And the guys working everywhere are cheerful and friendly))
1. Let's start from the territory - literally from the doorstep the hotel will meet you with the smell of a swamp and rotten meat with a caustic persistent plume, not a single perfume will save the situation.
2. Tired rooms with faulty air conditioners, broken tiles and rust, cockroaches and other surprises will give a special piquancy in the next few days for your money.
3. And the singing of birds will be replaced by local construction, the noise of a drill and sawing of bamboo, so get ready.
4. The beach will be decorated with glass, mud, and a huge dump of algae, well, it’s also like nothing when neighboring beaches are cleaned to a shine.
6. Wi-Fi is a rare luxury - free access is provided to you as much as 15 minutes a day, as an option, you can choose a paid version for $ 7 per hour.
7. And yes, these are not all the gifts, if you order an excursion from the Hotel right now, you will overpay 100 or even more dollars. They didn't get drunk, you say?
8. By the way, the buffet is so varied that choosing an omelette or scrambled eggs for breakfast will turn out to be a whole quest, well, or a task for What Where When, so Alexander Friends will help you. And during the commercial break you will be offered pineapple, mango as a bonus, and that's it. So hang in there!
From my sad experience I will tell you the following:
I have been vacationing in the Dominican Republic every year for 9-10 years, since it takes only about 4 hours to fly from the east coast of the USA. I rested in different hotels, I got to this hotel because I booked it hastily without reading the reviews. Such a "service" as in this hotel, did not have anywhere else.
Even though according to the hotel policy the rooms for check-in must be ready by 3 o'clock, I got the room at 4:15.
Room 1253 in Patio 4 on the 2nd floor:
The air conditioner does not work, it blows warm air
Early 90s TV with a blurry hazy picture
One working, but very loose outlet for charging the phone
I called Guest Service. Supervisor Marino promised to send a technician to fix the air conditioner.
The master came, twirled, left. Said something needed to be replaced. The night passed in a breeze. The ceiling fan doesn't help.
The next day he called again. They promised to do it. Returned to room before dinner. The room is hot. Called again. The master has arrived. Speaks only Spanish. Didn't do anything. The second night went no better than the first.
On the third day after lunch, they finally transferred to room 2201 Patio 5.
Upon entering, I immediately felt that the room was hot. They explained that the air conditioner (AC) was turned off and it was just turned on. It takes an hour and a half or two to cool the room. I returned to my room after dinner and the show. AC is noisy, stuffy in the room. Called. They said that the master had already finished the work for today. The next day, after dinner, the master came and said that they could not do anything yet.
The next day, they transferred to room 4214 Patio 10, which, among other shortcomings - there was no shampoo, the TV showed everything in pink, there was no towel for the legs, one of the two sconces worked, but for some reason it illuminated the wall and it was impossible to read, the balcony door with the mesh broken and didn't close, giving access to mosquitoes, also the air conditioning didn't work.
After useless conversations with managers Louis and Mekler, I wrote to the agency. Only at the end of the 6th day, after repeated correspondence and calls to the hotel from the agency, I was finally given room 4205 with a working air conditioner and a normal smart TV, where I stayed for the remaining 4 days.
On my request for compensation for the inconvenience caused and ruined vacation, the hotel manager Rafael Beras offered me a free dinner and a bottle of wine (this is in a hotel where EVERYTHING is already included). I can't call it anything other than a mockery.
The furniture in the rooms is old, worn out, the mattresses are hard, the pillows are "thin". The rooms are cleaned irregularly. Free internet is of very dubious quality, only 15 minutes a day. Safe in the room - $4 per day, although there is no mention of paying for a safe anywhere in the advertisement.
During the day, you are constantly bothered by offers to buy excursions, cigars, coconut and all sorts of rubbish. There is loud music on the beach during the day, which makes it impossible to just relax in silence and enjoy the sound of the ocean. This is especially inconvenient for those who come with small children. The pool is clean enough but open from 8am to 6pm.
The food in the buffet restaurant is quite monotonous. No seafood options. In the existing 3 restaurants, you need to sign up a few days in advance from 9 am to noon. Service in restaurants is very long (after an hour and a half of dinner, I left without waiting for dessert)
Alcohol is cheap, cocktails are all too sweet.
There are plenty of sunbeds and shade on the beach. There are a lot of algae on the shore and in the water, which is why the water is cloudy (sorry I can’t attach a photo). If you walk along the shore for 250 meters to the beach of another hotel, you can enjoy the clear water and the absence of algae in the water and on the shore. The administration of this hotel did not stint on a special mesh that does not let algae through.
It should be noted that the territory of the hotel is very well-groomed, there is a lot of greenery, flamingos and peacocks are walking around. Exotic. But to rest you still need to return to your room. And here unpleasant surprises await, with which the hotel management clearly does not want to fight.
I have seen several couples (from Russia) who have also complained about their numbers, but I think they have also been given sworn promises that have never been kept.
Nothing exotic, flamingos and peacocks can balance the lack of hot water or cool air in the room you sleep in, where the temperature is almost the same, and sometimes even higher than outside, with high humidity.
This hotel is in serious need of refurbishment and renovation. I would not give this hotel more than 2 stars.
(I'm surprised that on this site this hotel is assigned 5 stars)
Of course, I myself will not return to this hotel and strongly DO NOT RECOMMEND it to anyone, especially to you Russians who make such a long and tiring flight to Punta Cana. There are many other hotels (albeit a little more expensive), but it will not be wasted money.
Trust my experience.
we decided the question "how to get from the airport to the hotel" in advance, when we booked excursions and found out about the rental of transport, and from all the offers we chose 2 Bananas, they inspired the most confidence and we were not mistaken). In addition, it is much more convenient, upon arrival you want to get to the end point as soon as possible and you do not need to waste time on arrivals at other hotels. Literally twenty minutes later we were already at the Natura Park Beach - EcoResort & Spa. According to the general rules, check-in at the hotel starts at 15:00, we had about forty minutes left, we left our things at the reception and went to have lunch at a local buffet, so the time flew by very quickly. The room that we were given was very nice and comfortable: The furniture there, of course, is no longer brand new, but there are plenty of towels, water, and hygiene items, everything.
During the entire stay, there was not a single complaint about the cleaning work, because the cleaning was carried out efficiently, on time and regularly: towels were changed every day, the contents of the mini-bar were also replenished daily. Of course, when you are on vacation in the Caribbean, you essentially use the room only as an overnight stay, so I am sincerely surprised by the reviews nitpicking about some little things in the room. The most interesting and most important thing in this ECO-hotel is its territory, which is a luxurious garden with rich flora and fauna, where you can easily see how black ducks or flamingos walk in the shade of palm trees, and they are very well-groomed and satisfied with life, they are not at all alike on those poor fellows that we saw in the Moscow zoo. in addition to them, there are geese, and turtles that rest in man-made reservoirs-lakes. You can also feed the fish there if you wish.
I strongly advise you to come judging by the children and acquaint them with this amazing fauna, better than any petting zoo. But, of course, you can not abuse the trust of animals, the Dominicans are very careful about this. And they do it right. There was enough space for relaxing on the wide beach, but beach towels run out pretty quickly, so it's better to take them right in the morning. Algae in the sea, if encountered, were promptly removed. If we talk about food, it seemed to me that it is more focused on Europeans and did not indulge too much with dishes of national cuisine, although if we take the work of the restaurant as a whole, then everything is quite tasty and varied, but in a certain style. Unfortunately, I have never met seafood, I would advise them to be included in the menu. Well, at least some.
You can’t just get into restaurants by appointment, as a rule, you need to sign up in advance and for some reason we completely forgot about them, we remembered only by the end of the vacation. And so there are several good bars that offer rum-based cocktails and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Regarding the Internet, be sure to take it into service so as not to become a victim of lies and provocations. Free wi-fi in the hotel was 15 minutes a day (and the speed is low), and then you need to buy a card: 1 day - $ 10 per device, while if you buy a Claro SIM card with an unlimited Internet package for 5 days, then get it for $10. The benefit is obvious. Well, as for the animation, it is present here, but the bias towards a more relaxing holiday, and, accordingly, is extremely unobtrusive.
If you want, take part in the dances, or not, no one will pull by the arms and legs.
In the evenings it can be boring, if you want to have fun, you can go to a disco or a casino in neighboring hotels. Or take a taxi to the city, feel the local flavor.
