The issue of crossing borders.
I take a bus tour with a return on the 25th to Lviv, the tour company orients at 9.00 (arrival in Lviv). Passage of the Polish border. Whether prompt can be a delay and on how much, purely referring to the experience. I don't know what time to take the train ticket. Thanks

We returned through Sheginy, which turned out even earlier than stated in the tour program - we stood at the border for less than an hour. Moreover, you are traveling during the celebration of the Catholic Christmas, there will be no work on the roads - sometimes traffic jams due to road repairs to the Euro.
аватар vika_best
Usually they indicate the time with a margin. We always crossed the border faster on the way back.
аватар gribanova1966
It is difficult to say about the exact time of passage. As a rule, it does not take long to cross the border by bus, about 1.5-2 hours. But during the holidays, the flow of buses increases and, accordingly, the passage time is extended to 3-4 hours. Once there was a case that a couple stood in their car for 13 hours on the Polish-Ukrainian border. But this is a private case and he is not an example to follow.

I went so many times, but they always arrived earlier than the approximate time indicated in the program.

We returned to Lviv twice before the stated time. Moreover, for the first time, our drivers rushed to Lviv as if the police were chasing them)) and, one might say, did not stand at the border at all, everything passed in about 20 minutes. Therefore, we ended up in Lviv at 6!! in the morning ... instead of 9. This day was considered still in the program, i.e. we still had to get an excursion in Lvov, then free time, and in the evening a train. But we arrived at 6 in the morning, exhausted, sleepy, after a night move, in Lviv, as luck would have it, it was raining (in January!) urgently right there, at the station they changed tickets. For example, we left by the very first train to Kyiv. Only those who did not have other, earlier flights did not change tickets and they were simply forced to sit at the station until the evening (you can’t walk around the city - it rained). Therefore, once in a while it is not necessary ...

to kievlanka: tell me, please, what was the name of your tour, what kind of program, and which travel agency served you so incomprehensibly. that is, you lost a whole day on the program? it is not clear what you were supposed to do in Lviv from 6 to 9 in the morning?
аватар kievlanka
We had a 9-day tour "The Czech Republic - the conqueror of hearts", the tour operator "Accord-tour", I don't want to name the travel agency, it has nothing to do with it and we still have to deal with it. I think that the drivers and the leader of our tour are to blame for the situation I described. Well, apparently, they wanted to go home so much)), and therefore, in fact, our tour was reduced by a whole day. And since we, tourists, thanks to them, also had nothing to do in rainy Lviv, we also really wanted to go home))). And here's what we were supposed to do in Lvov from 6 to 9 o'clock. morning? - it remained a mystery to us ... Well, apparently, to sit out at the station. Since the tour was supposed to start after 9. And by the way, the drivers didn’t serve us that day anymore, they brought us to Lviv and that’s it! free! Therefore, they were in a hurry, because they became free for as much as 3 hours earlier. And the tour was supposed to be on foot and by tram. But no one wanted her anymore ... Almost everyone changed tickets and left ...

to kievlanka: Tell me, please, how satisfied are you with the organization of the Accord-tour in general? We just have to go with them in the near future. Maybe there are some tips. Collecting in the Czech Republic.
аватар kievlanka
to lusienka: We traveled with the tour operator Accord-tour 1 time. In general, we are satisfied with the organization of the tour. But there are, of course, pluses and minuses. Pros: all excursions according to the program (except the last one in Lvov) were at a high level, all the girl guides (in Kutna Hora, Prague, Ch. Krumlov) are just smart, they are all Russian, they act with them. it was very interesting. Optional. We did not take excursions (our dad took us himself). The leader of the tour is a good guy Vitaly from Accord Tour. He helped with everything, answered everything, was polite and amiable. I won’t say this about the drivers (we had a special history and relationship with one of them, there were rather unpleasant moments, we sat right behind them). Although he should have been more correct with us, I can say that I saved him at customs, at the very beginning of the tour, as soon as we crossed the border. He had extra blocks of cigarettes, and our bus at the customs arranged a full inspection with the opening of all bags and suitcases. He begged me to take his cigarettes into my bag.. The “reward” for my daughter and me was that he constantly leaned back in his chair and hit us painfully on the knees, and in the middle of the night, when all the passengers were sleeping, he turned on the video and entertained himself with films. It was a big problem for the front passengers. Read about hotels in my blog))

Thanks for the answer, but can you write in 2 words what you can bring with you and in what quantity?
аватар kievlanka
I didn't quite understand your question. Do you mean what things to take with you or what kind of food-drinks-cigarettes can be transported?
аватар lusienka
I meant what kind of food and alcohol and in what quantity you can lead, although I really wasn’t going to take anything like that with me, except maybe a little alcohol to warm me up. How warm is it on the bus in winter? Need to bring a blanket? You need to take something for a snack or the bus will stop and you can eat in a cafe.
аватар kievlanka
It is allowed to carry duty-free 40 cigarettes, 1 liter of spirits and 2 liters of wine. There are no restrictions on the export of similar products from the Czech Republic. In winter, only 2-3 pairs of front seats on both sides are warm on the bus (try to book them! They are both warm and do not get sick). It's cold at the end of the bus in winter. Take a blanket with you, it's enough to hide together. For a snack, we took sandwiches, cookies, chocolates, fruits. Hot tea, coffee is on the bus, at stops you will be offered. We had stops every 3-4 hours, but they are sanitary - 20 minutes. , go to the toilet (not on the bus!) and buy something in the shop at the bus stop. But on the first day when we crossed Poland, we had one stop longer - about 1 hour, at that stop there was a wonderful Polish cafe with good and cheap dishes. We even took a hot first course there, a very large selection of first and second courses, pastries, desserts, etc. Transit drivers always dine there. Clean, tasty, warm, very fast and pleasant service at the checkout. I also advise you to take with you on the road (just in case!) the medicines you need and are familiar with. We needed. My daughter had a severe headache (now we know that she should not go on bus tours :))
аватар kievlanka
Clarification about cigarettes: 40 packs of cigarettes! (I missed the word "pack") :))
аватар Vladka_nov
to kievlanka: thank you for your answer)))))))
аватар kievlanka
to vladka nov: You are always welcome! It's nice when your advice is useful to someone.
аватар kievlanka
to lusienka: By the way, I already answered you about "it's cold in the bus? what to take?" to your own question "Czech Republic at the end of December". Did you not read my answer then?
аватар lusienka
I read it, thought maybe you could add something else.
аватар kievlanka
were you not satisfied with the first answer?
аватар vika_best
At the expense of 40 packs, in my opinion, you got excited.
10 packs of cigarettes, and it is desirable that they are not all together, but in different bags. In winter, take a blanket with you on the bus, you can put a sweater under your head, and warm socks on your feet.
Of course, you need to take a snack with you, it’s not a fact that there will be a stop for snacks in cafes. Sanitary stops will be.
аватар kievlanka
to vika_best: I'm surprised, by God, some people. . . And what is so new you have brought to our dialogue between me and lusienka? in fact, they repeated the same advice about a blanket-plaid, warm socks. . . The phrase "Sanitary stops will be" was especially impressive. The impression is that you decided them by your will. As if it is not clear that they are required to be on a bus tour. About cafes. . . oh, you are right! oh how wrong. . . If the tour has a whole day of transit through some country (that is, on this day, tourists do not attend any excursions, do not call in any city, they spend the whole day on the bus, but spend the night already on the territory of another country) - then the organizers of such a tour are simply OBLIGED to make one hour stop with a hot lunch in a cafe for the whole day of the move. You didn't know this?? Regarding 40 packs of cigarettes, this is 2 blocks of cigarettes, go to any website of any tour operator (I took information from Accord Tour), and read there carefully how many packs of cigarettes are allowed to be transported. And I don't need to argue with you.. There are people who are simply haunted by the ephemeral fame of an expert, and they earn their points and the number of answers by any means, instructing others along the way. . . ((
аватар vika_best
Dear, I will not conduct dialogues with you, but for the fact that you recognized me as an expert - THANK YOU !!!
аватар kievlanka
Just as respected! First: you started a dialogue with me. Secondly: they got into someone else's dialogue between me and lusienka. Thirdly: think too much about yourself, thinking that I recognized you as an expert. I wrote: EPHEMERAL!! the glory of an expert (for those who are especially dull, I explain: ephemeral - that is, non-existent, unreal, unrecognized and in the same spirit ...). And even now, involuntarily, we both earn a number of answers, although in fact we do not answer anything to any of the tourists, but only to each other. . . Therefore, I consider this situation to be incorrect in terms of a set of answers. If it would be more pleasant for me to communicate with you further, it would be more honest to invite you to my e-mail (and not here, within the framework of someone else's question, exchange phrases, while earning points). But in this situation, to communicate with you by e-mail - no! I make a point. (although I won’t be surprised that you also want to put an end to it, but how! After all, this will again be considered your answer to be superfluous for the rating). And by the way, dear, I gave you pluses yesterday, and even for today's answer I will put. . . rejoice, dear, because you want it? because you, except for your points, it seems, are not interested in anything. Everything. I put an end to it, and pluses to you, unlike you. . .
аватар vika_best
Thanks for the plus!!!
аватар Vladka_nov
to kievlanka: don't pay attention! there are such people... you give them a plus, they give you a minus. Let me ask you a better question on the topic, Wee wrote that they later returned tickets in Lviv. Did a travel agency buy tickets for you at first or did you do it yourself?
аватар kievlanka
to Vladka_nov: yes, I try not to pay attention ... although, as I expected, this is what the person did: she put her point, and set me minuses. As they say, the humpbacked grave will fix ... yes, well, with her! I’ll answer you better: the tickets at that time were bought by the manager of the travel agency. And in vain we agreed to this. That we ourselves would not buy tickets from Kyiv to Lviv and back? Not only that, as it turned out, we overpaid a lot than if we had taken it ourselves, but we also lost it on the ticket in Lviv on the way back, so we took another, morning ticket to Kyiv.
