Is it profitable to have a card with dollars? At what rate and where is it better to change to kroons?

It is best to change in the center or near Wenceslas Square (also the center) among the Arabs. It's hard to say by card, it's better to find out in the bank where your card is serviced

It is definitely beneficial to pay by bank transfer with a card. I personally took a hryvnia card, withdrew money from any ATM in kroons. I can’t say anything about the dollar, but I think that there will be no particular problems. Happy trip. Czech Republic is amazing!

Where possible, pay by card. I know from shopping experience in Prague.
Check with your bank for ATM withdrawal fees. But mine is still more profitable than buying currency, and then changing it to crowns.
Good luck!!!!

It’s more profitable with a card. We had a visa with us and using it turned out to be almost 2 times more profitable than changing euros or dollars for crowns. Use a card, especially ATMs in Prague at every step. Good luck :)

Thank you all very much for your advice. Are dollars generally in use in the Czech Republic? Do they take them without difficulty?

in exchangers they take everything. in cafes in different ways, mostly only crowns, excursions can be paid for with anything

kbctyjr50 thank you for your advice. I don’t want to seem annoying - did you have a visa card with hryvnia? I have both hryvnia and dol, I think what is better to use?

we are from Russia :) you can withdraw money from a visa abroad in any currency, automatic conversion, we immediately removed the exchange rate in Czech crowns is very good.

The fewer conversions, the better, i.e. better with hryvnia.

Of course you can use cards! They are accepted in restaurants and shops. In the Czech Republic, in exchangers, they take a commission. The main thing is not to covet a high rate, otherwise there will be, accordingly, a large commission. Course in Prague, 1 euro = 26 crowns.
