Resort "Izki", February 2011 (1 $ = 8 UAH).
I'll start from the end. We can be glad that we have ski resorts already 87% corresponding to Western Eastern European standards. I compare with such resorts as the High Tatras in Slovakia or Zakopane in Poland. And now everything is in order.
We went by train Odessa-Uzhgorod and the road and the weather pleased us. In Slavske there was not even snow, but not even a snowdrift. Wonderful summer landscape. Warming. Where are we going? On the pass, but from the Transcarpathian side, snow appeared, but then - on the pass, and below "the grass was green. "
But I stubbornly repeated: “there are guns and a snowcat”, and this was reassuring. We were met in Volovets - the transfer cost 100 UAH, which is better than that of taxi drivers.

In about 25 minutes we reached the place, passing the ski resorts of Podobovets and Pylypets along the way. The resort is located on the outskirts of the village of the same name, 2 km from the highway along a rural road. We were greeted cordially by the administrator Svetlana and immediately settled in a free room, although if it was busy, we would have to wait up to 2 hours. Out of the corner of my eye, I manage to notice that the chair is working and people are riding along the track. And this is the main thing! We settled in - a good room, everything is there, a TV (about 10 Ukrainian channels), a hairdryer, a heated floor. So even hot. When the underfloor heating was turned off, it became just warm. There is no need for heaters. Medicinal water flows from the tap, where can you see this? Everything is very environmentally friendly. Well, there may be some shortcomings, but I will not talk about them, because the administration itself understands everything and will correct them.
We wash, and I'm in a hurry to ride - time does not wait. It was 11 o'clock, and people were just starting to gather. They come from all these Piliptsy and Podobovtsy, since they only make snow here, and the surrounding mountains are full of pleasant spring greenery. The chair usually starts working from 10:00 to 17:00. I'm renting - everything is fine, good equipment, Igor helps with the choice and helps to take off and put on shoes. Well, service, in a word. The kit costs 100 UAH. day. I must honestly add that there is another rental not far in the village below, it seems to be cheaper there. I ask about a discount for 3 days of use, so Igor says that it is possible, but only he will ask Andriy Grigorovich, and on the 3rd day he will say. And made a 10% discount. And by the way, I always bargained, sometimes jokingly, but it turned out that everything is possible, you just need to ask Andriy Grigorovich. I understand that if you get to know Andriy Grigorovich personally, you can get a 50% discount.
It turned out that the first day was the sunniest and it was possible to ride for pleasure, eat shish kebabs upstairs (20 UAH) - a woman from the village stands and cooks, mash potatoes, have tea.
At the bottom of the track there is a “Kolyba”, the only problem is that when there are a lot of people, they don’t have time, and you can’t really eat there. No fast food like hot dogs or hot sandwiches, but you should. When on the 3rd day I went there early, it turned out that there is service and a smiling waitress there, and you can even eat. Prices are the same as in the restaurant "Magur" at the cottages, for example. Yushka in Hutsul style (I recommend it to everyone) - 20 UAH, dumplings - 25-35 UAH, which is inexpensive. But mulled wine let us down - 300 g - 40 UAH. We ate at Magura, the cuisine is excellent, everything is so environmentally friendly that you understand it immediately and for a long time.

But let's get back to skiing - a lift for a day costs 200 UAH, you can take it until 14.00 - 120 UAH, or from 12 to the stop - 150 UAH. One-time rise - 20 UAH. The length of the track is about 1 km, it takes 11 minutes to go up, an experienced skier can go down in 2 minutes, and an inexperienced one....Here also consider. Sometimes there can be a queue for the lift for 10 minutes downstairs. In general, subscriptions justify themselves. I liked the track, both beginners and intermediate and experienced can ride there. Although superprofessionals will quickly get tired of it. On the second day, the wind blew and it began to snow, it blew in the back and helped to go, only it was necessary to survive on the chair - the wind in the face. The mountains amazingly quickly changed and took on a normal winter look. And on the third day the wind increased and changed direction. I managed to move out a couple of times normally, and then it started - you want to go down, but the wind carries you back, well, you can’t see anything. I decided that this was not skating, and then the chair was closed - a hurricane. Everyone went to the yoke, which is closer to the cottages and near the children's track, which is not afraid of the wind. I managed to climb the yoke once, when I pulled out - it turned out that the yoke had broken. The rope tow track is called "Lisa", it can only be considered as an alternative to the chair when it is not working. And so there is nothing particularly interesting there. In fact, one descent is the skill to work out. The people became sad, many came to ride on Saturday, everyone is waiting, nothing happens. Many began to climb and ride on foot, I went to the room. An hour later I see - the armchair was turned on! It cleared up a little, the sun came out. I run to the track, my subscription was up to 2, but they extended it to 4 without any problems. Normal approach. The wind was strong at the top, but it was possible to ride, besides that bulk of snow, what else do you need?
In general, on the 3rd day I was determined to go to Pylypets, but the weather, the cost of a taxi (70 UAH per way), the lack of information about whether everything works there, discouraged me. And so, according to the stories, in Pylypets there is a wide variety of tracks, only it is necessary that there be a lot of snow. In general, my vision is that all these resorts should be united conceptually, as in Slovakia - "High Tatras", and there are 5 places for skiing over 50 km. So here the skier could come anywhere, stop, and ski for 2 days here and there. And between places for skiing - to launch bus-shuttles for skiers. That would be the level! One could call it all, for example, "Hutsul Rhapsody" or simply - the ski resort "Pipets"!
Today, people from all over Ukraine ride in Izky, I met Belarusians, and over time, the Germans will catch up! What else I liked was the bath. Made over the river - take a steam bath and swim in the hole! There are all sorts of massages. Prices are not cheap, but you can bargain. I received 10%, but if Andriy Grigorovich had also arrived… I'm joking, but I will say that Andriy Grigorovich is on the right track and approached the organization of this whole thing in the right way.
There is no shop, but down in the village - 50m, a woman sells at home, cookies, chocolates, water (although why - from the tap - medicinal! ), Mushrooms, wine, etc. Full cordiality. Only prices - white mushrooms - 400 UAH. per kg. To get 1 kg of dried mushrooms, you need to prepare 10 kg of live ones. Hence the prices.
I didn’t want to leave home, but in Volovets at the station I managed to exchange the reserved seat bought in Odessa without any problems (there were no others), for an excellent compartment, and even an empty car. The cashier was very friendly and helpful. Well, great. The total hospitality of the local population, from which there is nowhere to hide.

Oh yes, there is nowhere to change dollars at the resort itself. There are no ATMs and they don't accept cards. Stock up on hryvnia. The exchange process looks like this - you give it to the administrator in the morning, and she gives it to you in a few hours (someone goes to the city to buy and change it there).
I will end my enthusiastic description with what I started with - 88 percent is already Western Eastern European level! Keep it up!
