native Crimea
I don't have the most common reason to go on vacation from St. Petersburg not to warm countries, but only to the Crimea, but, as it is. And the choice of direction is explained simply: for the first 17 years since my birth, I lived in Sevastopol, while studying, and then living and working, I did not move to the Northern Capital. And when my two sons grew up (10 and 13 years old), I decided to show them not only the hero city, but, if possible, the whole Crimea.
Dad couldn't go with us (he was allowed to leave only in winter), and leaving a credit card with the words "don't spend it all", he drove off to the Kuban on business matters. But if the direction where to go was not discussed, then where exactly to go is the question. On the one hand, it was possible to stay with friends (would I have traveled alone, I would definitely have done so), but with two boys - “a choice without a choice. ”
A small note: when you decide on the date and time of arrival, order a taxi online from one of the local services. The prices of taxi drivers "on duty" at the airport and beyond are 2-3 times higher than they charge.
Already in place (it took a long time, the repair of the highway from Simferopol affected), when we settled, we ordered only breakfast. As it turned out later, it was nothing, tasty and varied, and most importantly, satisfying: we didn’t go to lie on the beach, but to see Crimea to the maximum in 10 days, so that then the impressions would last for a year. And in order not to toil with public transport, I rented a car for the duration of my stay: the office where I took the Lacetti for a week and a half was also within walking distance. A nice bonus: the Delta has its own closed parking.
What we traveled around and what we visited is a topic for a separate story. But the fact that the peninsula, after so many years, which, although it was perceived as native and so familiar, is perceived ambiguously, this is a fact.
P. S. The only thing that pleased me was where to go next year, there was no question: only to the Crimea. And the fact that after the enthusiastic story of the boys, the next year, dad decided to break out to us at least for a few days, this is my small victory.
