Sudak is really a youth town, many bars for different tastes and a concert program, vegetation - cypresses. I also agree that it is not far to get on excursions to other parts of Crimea: (New World, Alushta, Massandra, Livadia, Yalta in the other direction of Feodosia)

And I love Evpatoria and the Black Sea! The cleanest and warmest sea and sandy beach in Crimea!
I highly recommend Black Sea! Rented a room with all amenities, everything is worthy. 150 UAH / day (3 people can be in the room).
Advantage - the owners rent only 3 rooms, this is not the main income. Beautiful landscaped area of the house, parking. =)

I recommend New World. Beach - sand, mountains, juniper (good for the lungs), near Sudak (5 minutes by car) there is where to have fun

As for me, pebbles are much more convenient than sand, if entry into the sea is convenient. If you still want the South Coast and Alushta, I will advise the Porto Mare hotel (ex. ICO Yunost). We rested there for three years, I really like it, and every year it gets better and better. But - expensive.
