Odesa is a music festival.
I love festivals, especially street food festivals with fairs. And I really love Odessa, where the 5th All-Ukrainian Festival "Master's Shop" was to take place on December 15. But since it is only a pork business, it was necessary to give the trip an interesting look, and to ennoble it with some cultural program. Well, it was decided to buy tickets to the theater of musical comedy and go to the pearls by the sea - Odessa!
Odesa meets Christmas tree and humor
First you need to enjoy the streets of this seaside town, feel its atmosphere and be inspired by the sea. Since I was tired of walking "from Duke to the hatch", we chose a slightly different route for the promenade and impressions. I always associate Odesa with humor and its epoch-making humorist Mykhailo Zhvanetsky. That's why we go for a walk along Zhvanetsky and Preobrazhenska boulevards.
Walking along the boulevard, we approach a very unusual monument - the monument "Bribe" (by the way, the only one in Ukraine), better known as "
Where did such an unusual name come from? Looking at the monument, we see an orange in section, Emperor Paul and three horses. What would that mean? The fact is that Paul did not respect the reform of Catherine the Great's mother, as well as herself, and with one stroke of the pen he repealed the decree of Catherine II on financing the construction of the port of Odessa. Of course, the townspeople could not allow this, and knowing Paul's great love for oranges, merchants decide to give him a bribe, preparing and sending a convoy loaded with oranges to distant St. Petersburg. And the road to St. Petersburg is not close, and the emperor received these oranges only at the end of winter.
After eating overseas fruit, the emperor softened and revoked his decision to stop funding the construction of the port, allocating the city 250 thousand gold from the royal treasury. That's right, three thousand oranges saved the city. And in gratitude for this event, the people of Odessa erected a monument to "Orange" or "Bribe".
Walking down Gogol Street, we see one of the unique majestic buildings
Shah's Palace.
Initially, in the 18th century, they wanted to build a military hospital here, and even began construction. Then, for some reason, construction stopped, and the Polish architect built a palace for the Polish landowner Brzozowski, who owned it until 1910, and then sold it to another Polish landowner. So why is the palace called "Shah's", perhaps because it is built in the Eastern style?
It does not.
The Shah did live in it, and it is none other than the former ruler of Persia, Mohammed Ali, who was overthrown and sent into exile. Yes, he gets to Odessa, sees this wonderful castle and settles in it, renting it. Since he is a chess, naturally a stranger surrounds himself with a harem of 50 concubines and servants. It is rumored that he acquitted the guilty concubines through the balcony to the science of others, but he himself said that it is better to live 50 years with one wife than 1 year with fifty.
And this is the famous Mother-in-law's bridge. They say that if you want to get married, you must go through it. Well, it's all fables, of course.
I like this bridge better.
Beautiful locksmith for lovers in the form of Heart (this is probably in every city)
Let's take a walk along Gogol Street.
This house is called Haunted House . Gloomy ...
Nearby is the famous House of the Atlanteans.
Walking around Odessa, the fact that the municipal authorities are in no hurry to restore historic buildings is a bit sad, there is a feeling that they want to buy them back for pennies as unusable.
And this is Quarantine Island . From here the famous Sonya's golden pen went to hard labor.
Well, let's go to the park. Taras Shevchenko at the 5th All-Ukrainian Festival "Shop of Masters".
Here craftsmen - producers of home-made wine, mead, cheese, meat products and various handicrafts - have united in one place .
Glad to be free. There is an atmosphere of fun and celebration everywhere.
Siri! ! ! ! ! Here I hung
Cheeses were for every taste, from different types of milk - goat's, cow's, sheep's and even mare's, which were tasted in unlimited quantities. I liked Golden Hoof cheeses the most, especially goat cheese with mold. Prices average 450 hryvnias per 1 kg.
Meat! ! ! ! ! Hanging here too
Sausages were presented in a wide range of different varieties - beef, pork, venison, horse, all kinds of game, etc. You could also try absolutely everything. I liked the raw venison sausage the most at the price of UAH 450. for 1 kg. Prices are mostly from 300 to 600 hryvnias per 1 kg.
Near this tent, I was sincerely surprised. For some reason, fish in Odessa was presented by Khmelnytsky !!! ? ? ?
Well, I just couldn't help but hang out with alcohol! Stuffed with wine. I especially liked the "Blackberry Author's", "Raspberry" and "Aelita" with nutmeg flavor.
Very interesting handmade products.
How wonderful to walk here!
Here is such a charming alpaca mascot for next year.
Confectioners surprise with pastries and sweets
The chefs served pilaf and kebabs
You could have a salad with them
Corn was smoking in the cauldron
The drinks were delicious too, especially the mulled wine.
Exactly the same gastronomic fair will be held here on January 25 for Catholic Christmas.
It was not possible to leave here in good faith, but the theater called us, and I was dragged out of the fair literally by the skin.
I thought we were going to the theater, but it turned out that some of our friends did not like the tastings at the fair, and their souls demanded the continuation of the feast. Therefore, in front of the theater we stopped for lunch in a very colorful and incredibly atmospheric cafe "Attic". It is very easy to find, it is located next to the Musical Comedy Theater, on the 3rd floor of the shopping center. On the 2nd floor there is a museum of Interesting Science, and on the 3rd floor we need an institution with an interesting name "Attic".
Since I was not hungry at all, and to put it mildly, I will conduct a tour of the cafe in pictures.
Large selection of first courses
You can choose bakery products or croutons
This is the tea card and beverage area
A very unique device for bottling wine - vodka
And in the center is an unusual Christmas tree
There are interesting photo zones
Prices are democratic, the food is delicious (I overcame only dessert).
Went into the ladies' room, and it's interesting (note the names of the booths)
Getting out of the cafe (in the full sense of the word) is difficult.
Well, the final part of our program was His Majesty's Theater.
Short description
. The theater is named after Mikhail Vodyany. This artist is well known thanks to the legendary comedy "Wedding in Malinovka", where he played the role of Papandopolo. Mykhailo Vodyany arrived in Odessa together with the Lviv Musical Comedy Theater, which was transferred to this seaside city. The theater took root in Odessa, and with it Mikhail Vodiany, who was the director of the theater for a long time. And now the theater of musical comedy has his name.
